Good Morning from Bermuda. So from this view, they are like “Fiona who?”. Looks pretty clear. It almost 80 degrees out here. We have not cleared customs yet. My tour begins pretty much soon after we open the doors.

So this ends Day 2. Tomorrow and the next day is Bermuda. I don’t have net access in Bermuda so i won’t be as active. So apologies in advanced.

Now that my stateroom attendant knows, I get it now. Here is day 3. I swear i don’t know why adobe scan sometimes does black and white. O don’t change the settings. Even though its the same scan, some are in color. It still works better than taking a straight photo. Adobe scan automatically crops it correctly.

So apparently, this cruise, the paper cruise compass is by request. I didn’t get day 2 last night and i was able to get it later. Here is day 2

So far today’s been an interesting day. I expected breakfast in the MDR, the only time on this leg i will eat at the MDR to get the best value. I was confused because i thought it was an open an hour earlier, but we set our clock ahead so i lost an hour without realizing it. Also, i went down hard last night so i was a little groggy. This morning we had a brunch. I’m not sure i’ve ever had a “brunch” on Royal ever. It might be because we lost an hour on a sea day, but the menu had both breakfast and lunch, but nothing special really. Afterwards, I made the wife coffee before our scheduled lunch at Chops and let her get caffeinated. The loss of an hour messed me up here, but i intentionally did not eat a heavy breakfast so that helped. I won’t repost copies of food I’ve aready had or menus. But I had the mushroom soup Filet Mignon. Warm Chocolate cake. the menu for is a bit small, especially when the other two specialty restaurants are not available for lunch really. Giovanni’s was open today for lunch, but we are going for dinner the same day. Izumi’s has sushi making class on both sea days and not open. I wanted to take the wife to the Sushi and Sake Lunch but its not available. I heard they didn’t get sake delivery, but at the same time, I got my She’s a Geisha and that has sake. After lunch, I just wandered aimlessly here. What we found was the Taste of the Caribbean event. Pretty much a class on making these drinks. You should known I’m an absolute lightweight on booze. This knocked me out. We barely made out dinner reservations at Giovanni’s. Menu Mozerella di Bufala Pork Belly Ossobucco Tiramisu I like Giovanni’s way better than Izumi’s. Just a better flavor

I’ve gotten 5 mbps on Grandeur before. Overall not a great improvement, but on non O3B its amazing 😃

I talked to guest services. They will take care of all requirements for Canada they say, it including the required testing. They said tomorrow. I was worried because check in was checked out and I had not completed that portion of it. They said that will be taken care of at the same time. Masks are in rooms, but i do not believe i saw sanitizer.

This was my internet speed today. It isn’t that bad considering. This morning it timed out and was worse, but it seems to have leveled out.

I am a coffee snob. So earlier, I posted the picture of my coffee stash. I bring an aeropress with me to make my own coffee because i feel that al cruises have subpar coffee. I should note that the spill above happened because my hot water not arrived and I was explaining to the table next to me how I normally spill. Seriously!!!

I’m useless without coffee. My regular readers would know about my various coffee fouls. First morning, I screw up. Most of the coffee fell on my menu and it was salvageable. I brought the bag of coffee with me so I wouldn’t accidentally spill. I still did. at least spilling doesn’t mean i have no coffee now. More to come as i get caffeinated.

Day 1 random musings. All in all, a successful embarkation. We’re on our original itinerary notwithstanding Fiona. Random images. Magic Marvin. So far so good. The band Welcome aboard show featuring Michelle Balan. She was ok. Random art And just to remind us what day it is. Also, this is the snacks they left in my room. This is all they gave me. Even though i spent the night in Newark and embarkation was a breeze. I’m still beat. I’m not going to make the hush party. I usually love it. But food coma from Izumi rears ots ugly head.

Tonight’s dinner was Izumi’s. Menu I did not take a picture of everything. Some things weren’t photogenic like seaweed salad and sashimi. i got this. Baked Snow crab & Salmon roll Wife got Champagne Lobster Roll And dessert was mochi. For some reason our meal came staggered. Her food would come first, then mine, then she got all her large dishes. Than mine came out staggered. It was odd. I’ve been to Izumi several times. I really want to like it. I love sushi. But the food here is just not inspiring. The quality is nothing special. Not compared to Chops or Giovanni’s. We’ve given it many chances and it just doesn’t do it for us. Kinda glad this is the only time we’re eating here this cruise.

Okay. Ben and Jerry’s millshakes is NOT available with the Diamond vouchers. Johnny Rockets is available. And my first Diamond shake. I asked about the boozy shakes and they said they don’t offer. See, no bar or booze.

I don’t know how they do the UDP for longer cruises. It was a chore putting in all the reservations. I couldn’t do the UDP more than 5 nights. I’m so glad i got it for 110/person. It skyrocketed the week after. Today’s lunch was Chop. Only real place for lunch. I know there’s a Johnny Rockets but I’ve never been a fan even on land. Their burgers were only so so. Menu Beef Carpaccio is always yummy. I normally would mot get a burger at Chops but I have the UDP so its ok. This is a good burger. And the key lime meringue pie
