I thought I had seen Captain Ron Holmes not being on Freedom. Did that change?

May I ask if you booked directly through RC or through a TA? Just wondering if you can still get good upsell rates through TA.

For those of you who are fans of the Blackjack Band on the Carnival Dream, I just saw where there are appearing along with the best steel guitar players across the country on the Fantasy on February 2, 2017.

I have posted the link to the cruise. I can't tell you how many nights I have listened to Jimmy in Blackjack Band play his steel guitar! Nothing better and the Blackjack band looks like they will be playing on the cruise as well!

This will be the best cruise of the year! Just thought I was pass along the details as I'm sure this cruise will sell out!

Had the pleasure of meeting and enjoying lunch last August with Captain Ron Holmes last August on Freedom. Was looking forward to cruising with him again in July. So no one knows whether he is being transferred or retired. Very impressed with him and know the crew really loved working with him!

So who will be Captain in freedom July 10th?

I appreciate the link but it talks about the certificates which I'm not using. I have several hundred thousand points just sitting on my account with Verizon. Not planning on booking anything until May but going to watch Royal's website and do mock bookings to check on savings. Hey, $380 plus the $100 on board credit is better than what Royal Caribbean offers when they have sales!

Does anyone have experience booking on the Verizon Wireless website using Verizon Smart Rewards for a cruise? I'm not talking about purchasing gift cards/certificates for certain amounts but actually using their services? I never use my Smart Rewards and see where I can book our cruise on Freedom of Seas for July, still receive the current $100 OBC credit promotion through Royal Caribbean but save $340 from booking with Royal Caribbean directly on a JS. Thanks for any comments.

Does anyone have recent Freedom of Seas Compasses from the Eastern Itinerary? Found them on Royal Caribbean blog but can't print them off. I would like to print them off for a future cruise. Thanks.

Does Captain Holmes do 10 week rotations? Cruising on May 29th and am hoping he will still be on Freedom.

What type of cabin are you in and what deck? Trying to decide between a Superior Ocean View Balcony and Junior Suite? About $2000 difference. Can't see that for a walk-in closet and bigger bathroom though although my husband is a large man.

Watching the thread closely. Went in August on Freedom and bed was great! I have a husband who is in remission from cancer but has bone lesions on his spine. Sleeping on something that is like cement is a deal breaker for us! Had planned on cruising again on Freedom in May but watching the comments for the next month before booking.

This was our first cruise with Royal Caribbean and had booked our own excursions and handled our own reservations but the first impression even at the cruise terminal lounge was not impressive of Rahul with new passengers. Rahual definitely caters to the frequent cruisers and his loyal followers.

We were in a GS in August. Not impressed with Rahul personally! Felt he catered to passengers he already knew than assisting suite guests. Never felt welcome in Concierge Lounge! Will not pay the money for a GS again! Loved the suite but not worth the additional money over a JS! Will book a JS in August this year!

When is Captain Holmes due to return to the Freedom?

We loved Captain Holmes on Freedom! He was out and about alot talking with passengers! Waiting to see when he comes back on board to schedule next cruise!
