The new "social media" package wouldn't work for me cause I don't have social media. But that doesn't mean I think it should be ended. Your logic and reasoning seems flawed. It's the old "I don't like it, so no one else should" mentality.. How about the HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of people that benefit from the UBP? I guess they don't matter cause it wouldn't make financial sense for YOU to get the UBP? Silly post OP.
-
As the others said, don't order the flight. Find out exactly what's on the flight, and order them separately so the UBP takes care of it.

I partly agree with you but not totally: yes, the college kids on spring break or just out for the summer can raise cane, but let me tell you, the worst experience we ever had with kids was April last year out of NYC> There were 2254 kids on the Breakaway and about 1/2 of them were rude and out of control. I love kids for the most part, like to see them having a good time, but when they are misbehaving and parents either don't car or not paying attention it can be HELL!
Sounds like you cruised during NYC schools spring break.
-
No way we can answer that without knowing your level of play.. Just call CAS and ask.
-
Your question would depend on a few things..Will school still be in session in the area in and around the port you will be leaving from? If so, there will be few kids. If school will be out, there will be kids. I cruise almost exclusively in mid May, out of NYC or Boston. Kids are never a problem.

Smoke em if ya got em
;p;p

I'd like to see them bring back a lobster night. And yes, I'm fully aware that it's pretty crappie quality lobster, we still enjoyed it.
-
I'll be on board in May, so I'd be interested in this as well.
-
I have been to all the aforementioned places, several times. I would go with Cagney's

Better beer selection is needed on most ships. More late night food options. Better pizza.
-
So I just confirmed with a friend that works on the Breakaway.. You can still get straws in every drink if you wish, for a small $49 dollar convenience fee.
-
Handing the NCL person a credit card at check-in, and having them scan it takes all of about 4 seconds.. I don't see the time saving value here..

great ... Now i have to go back to rolling a $20 bill
lol!

Does no one recognize comedy/sarcasm anymore?!?!
At least someone gets it! lol thanks :D

Excellent write-up! I am going on the Escape for the first time ever this coming May, and your post was a huge help.. so thanks!
-
I have them tuck me in at night and read a bedtime story to me.;p
HAHA some people probably would!

I use my butler for pretty basic things. 2 foot massages per day, I have him wake up at 5am and reserve us 7 chairs by the pool. I have him remove our DSC for us. And I have him clean out my ashtray on the balcony.

Some general cruise advice, since this will be your first cruise..
My first, and biggest piece of advice is don't sweat the small stuff! Sometimes, things happen. The buffet may run out of ketchup. You may have to wait more then a few minutes to get a beer. Keep in mind you're on vacation. Have a good time, no matter what little things may arise. Don't be one of those people that complain about everything.
Another thing I do.. if you have the drink package, you'll want to "store" some stuff in your cabin. I will go to a bar, get 2 glasses of wine, go to the cabin and dump in a water bottle. This is so you can enjoy some wine at night, and not have to run out to one of the bars. If you drink beer, order a bottle of beer, and ask the server to leave the cap on. You can amass a nice little collection in your mini fridge. If you don't plan on using any beverages in the mini fridge, ask your room steward the first day to empty it's contents, so you can use the fridge.
If you plan to sit by the pool in the morning, get out there early. Chairs do fill up quickly. We usually get up early, do a quick breakfast, then lay out for a couple hours.
The casino is fun, however it's definitely tighter than land based casinos IMO.
When eating at any of the main (free) dinning rooms, keep in mind you can order as many dishes as you would like. You want 5 appetizers? Order them. Can't make up your mind between 2 main courses? No problem, order both.
Bermuda is our favorite island, and we've been to about 10-15. It's clean, people are friendly, just a great place. A bit expensive, but not crazy. If it's your first time there, check out Horseshoe Bay Beach. Don't take a cruise line excursion there. Simply hop in a cab, which you will easily be able to find in the dockyard area.
If I think of more, I'll add them here. Enjoy your vacation!!

You have to squirrel some away. Go to a bar, get 2 glasses each, go to the room and empty into water bottles. Go back down, hit another bar, 2 glasses each, unload in the room in more water bottles. Do this a few times and you'll have a nice little supply for your wine night in the cabin!

As stated above, some meds BY LAW must be in their prescription bottles.
-
I don't smoke. Never have, but smoke has never bothered me and any of my cruises.

Good question. Following.

The Norwegian Sun is currently in dry dock and getting Norwegian Edge enhancements. Can’t wait to sail on the Sun later this year after the renovations!

Keyword.. "AFTER" the renovation.. not "DURING" the renovation..:D
Opinion: Free UNLIMITED DRINKS! not really “free”
