  1. (Searched and can’t find an answer) Thanks.
  2. Thanks !!!!!. We’ve decided to book the 3 day before the 8/29 sailing just to avoid the potential for craziness - at least, NASA and traffic/crowding craziness. My dream - book a cruise to avoid gridlock lol.
  3. Sailing on the IN on 8/29/22 and just learned that the maiden launch of the Artemis I rocket is scheduled for that morning around 8:30am. A quote from a group post, "this is the most powerful rocket ever launched in space flight history", so I'm thinking this will be very popular. (I wondered why all the hotel rooms for 8/28 were gone) Question - what are we looking at in terms of driving into the Port area that morning (besides 5 ships in)? Roads? Blockages? Crazy congestion? Should we consider staying in Cocoa Beach on the 28th? We live on the west coast of Florida and we know bridge and highway congestion just from spring break - can't image what this could mean. Could someone please offer advice? Thanks.

    Rome Cabs

Possibly a stupid question - if there is a taxi strike in Italy/Rome, are these vehicles included in the strike or considered private hires or something? Would I be better off booking transfers through our hotel for a car service? Thanks. Linda
  5. Oops - didn’t realize. It was the only one I saw.
  6. The letter is in post #19. Very few ship/sailing options, to my eye.
  7. How is this for a wild GUESS? They are reaccommodating the BOS summer 2023 pax on the Serenade after which they will reopen the sailings ? (Oh, wait, the letter to Serenade cancelled pax said something about moving her to Florida). Just a thought/guess that would save our cruises ………..
  8. I read the offer to the Serenade passengers and the Brilliance wasn’t one of the options. Those pax are pretty upset as the sailings/ships offered (the letter is in another thread) have poor availability left for specialty cabins like suites or aft verandas.
  9. All summer sailings into November 2023 are showing closed. This shortly after the Serenade was pulled from Europe for next summer. We booked b2b Athens to Barcelona to Tampa for next November - fingers very crossed that we still have that as we got fabulous deals months ago. Linda
  10. Rustyman, I have to make my Rome hotel decision by next week and would love to see your edoc for your hotel package and particularly the transfer. Would you possibly be willing to share that with me? If you don’t want to post it here, could you maybe email it to me at tonto524 at aol dot com. Thank you so much ! Linda
  11. Thanks ! That gives me some confidence. Are you at the Hotel Cicerone???
  12. “Their” is Celebrity, but “their” cruise only transfer from Central Rome shows a departure of 130pm which is way too late for me.
  13. I know that the packages are no longer offered, but we have a two night pre cruise package at the Cicerone which includes a transfer to Civi. Has anyone done this in 2022 (or maybe at all) so I can tell what time they pick up for the trip to the pier? Naturally, Reservations hasn't a clue, and I'm ready to do my own thing if their transportation leaves too late for my comfort level. Thanks so much, Linda
  14. I’m stuck in something similar. Final for IN 4 nt cruise was due 6/15. On 6/12, Royal cancelled my booking and cruise planner purchases. Discovered this the morning of 6/13 - spent literally three hrs on the phone with them (btw, I am also the TA on his booking) reinstating the res, rebooking the cruise planner stuff. On 6/14 I couldn’t get payment to go thru for the final or the cruise planner items so I called the C and A Desk and an agent handled it. On 6/22, I suddenly had a cruise balance due of the amount of my cruise planner purchases. Another hour on the phone. Resolutions has put in an “IT ticket” which may take weeks to resolve and has extended he final payment date (which of course I’ve already paid). Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.
  15. CeleryCruiser, how long ago did you book this? We booked the Hotel Cicerone months ago and friends now joining us on the cruise can only book the hotel as a Hotels by Celebrity booking with no transfer. I can’t find anyone at Celebrity who can confirm that our hotel package still exists as a package. Has anyone else booked the Cicerone or Crowne Plaza as a pre cruise package? Thanks, Linda
  16. NOT Hotels by Celebrity, which seems like a rebranded booking.com. I mean the 1, 2 and 3 night packages that were offered for a sailing and included taxes, sometimes breakfast and a hotel to pier transfer. I don't see anything on them anymore and friends who just booked the Connie fall TA tried to book the hotel package in Rome that we have and the agent booked hotel nights only with a transfer from Rome city center, not the hotel. In a chat with Celebrity on Cruisingpower, I was told there was nothing in writing on this. Anyone have a clue??? Thanks very much! Linda
  17. Trying to decide which hotel to choose for a two night pre-cruise stay. I want to be within walking distance of the Vatican (morning Scavi tour). Celebrity offers the Hotel Cicerone, which would include a group transfer to Civi. But I’m also quite interested in the Starhotel Michelangelo and the small Residenza Paolo VI (both closer to St Peter’s). Pricing is pretty similar once I add in transfers. Can anyone offer their opinion on any or all of these options? Concerned a bit about restaurants, etc. Thanks so much.
  18. When I was checking for this last year (cruise was cancelled), I found parking at the Renaissance on 17th in their garage. The site was www.parkwayparking.com. The Renaissance is very close to the port and parkway parking offers a shuttle service. It’s not covered though - it’s on he top floor of the garage. Maybe this will help. Cheers, Linda
  19. As an "old" (in every sense of the word haha) travel agent, I'd want to know exactly what flights my tickets were issued for AND the date of their issue. IF they were issued for your original (and now new) itinerary, the rules in the past would allow the ticketing agency to either leave them as is - or, if for example a fare code had changed, to reissue them as an even exchange. I may be overthinking this, but it's hard to believe that FBC reissued those original tickets (to accommodate the schedule change/flight change) this far in advance of travel. I have to believe that agencies/airlines/consolidators are so overwhelmed now that they work everything in departure date order so that the originally issued tickets are for the original now new flights. Just my two cents with fingers crossed that they fix this for you.
  20. One more thought - ask for your ticket numbers. That's the only way you can be assured that the tickets have actually been issued. I'm sorry that this has happened, but even in the pre-covid days, our flights (booked by me or through a cruise line) changed many times before we travelled. It's maddening when you've tried to get the best schedule and price, but it's sadly just the name of the game - then and now.
