Well, it appears the Caribbean Princess is dealing with noro too (based on the article below) :(

I'm sorry for those affected by this virus and wish you all a full and speedy recovery.:)

Fantastic review and pics!!!

There's going to be bumper cars on the Quantum, we get it. I'm a little concerned that this is the BIG selling point of the new ship and that's all Royal Caribbean seems to want to talk about.
I think it's time to move on to some other new information.
Just my $.02. :p
Actually, aside from the recently posted video there's been little or no mention of the bumper cars...or anything else for that matter.:o
-
I can't wait to try it out with a good buzz
LMAO!!! I was thinking the same thing.
-
are these people never allowed a casual day. Even on a "play day" they are all in suits to ride bumper cars, lol. Once it's all done though i'm sure they'll all be i bathing suits up on the pool deck.
lol

Crazy is right :(
I am doing great thanks, although I have been slowly, ever so slowly, losing my enthusiasm for Quantum
But then I think of the great people I will be cruising with and that stopped me from saying to my TA, "enough already please find me another cruise".
Hope all is well with you :D
I feel the same. If it weren't for the group, I'd cancel and book something else.
-
I do not think they will reveal anymore until after Anthem opens up for booking (which is rumoured to be the middle of February.) :(
Crazy!!!
How are you? I'm excited to cruise with you again? :D
-
Totally agree Ty...come on Royal Caribbean give us so me real information rather than just words/teasing. :(
Liz! :D. I think being 9 months away from delivery and not having the rest of the ship revealed at this point is extremely bad call. :(
-
I really don't want to know about a possible 4th Quantum ship - I want to know about what is on the 1st one beforehand:D.
Pat
LOL! Right :D:cool:

That certainly helps, but I think that there are still some itineraries that are more suited to a < 100,000 grt vessel. Alaska and some Norwegian itineraries come to mind. There is also a certain elegance that the Radiance class has that the big boys don't (my favorite ships are Allure and Freedom so I'm not biased to Radiance :)).
I think the trend is building 100,000 grt ships. Most cruise lines already have new builds in this range (i.e., Aida, Holland America, Celebrity, Princess, NCL, CCL & of course RCI).
I think the trend of building 100,000+ grt ships is the foreseeable future. Time will tell.:)

I think they'll focus on a fourth Oasis (with Quantum enhancements) in lieu of a fourth Quantum Class
Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app
I wouldn't be surprised if they have a new build on the drawing boards.

Thank you.
I'm quite disappointed with RCI over the lack of information. Ridiculous
-
Why? She doesn't use the computer, how would it be suspect to write her blow by blow of what happened on the ship? Well I guess we will create a user name for her and she can dictate it to me?? LOL! Suspect? Really? Why on earth would it be suspect? SMH!!!
Because everything you're posting is from the rumor mill. And there's no way for anyone to know your "friend" actually exists. LOL. :p:D

Enough with the "teasing" we're 9 months away from the inaugural....just tell us RCI.:(

GMA is reporting this morning that after talking to passengers on board the Explorer of the Seas the situation on board is much worse than originally reported. They also reported that they are only refunding 50% of the cruise and offering 50% credit on future cruise. IMO that is a horrible compensation. The passengers that were not ill had a totally ruined vacation. They deserve a paid vacation for their troubles! ... and the poor sick passengers surely deserve a full refund. This is a horrible situation. I have four very good friends that are on that ship. I can't wait to see them on Thursday and get the real story. I will post a full review as reported by them.
IMO you should let anyone who wants to share "their" story from their perspective have that option. You doing so serves no purpose and would be highly suspect.

0% chance of that happening. River conveyance doesn't mean the ship is delivered. They will have sea trials and additional fit-up thereafter. Sea trials are very extensive on ships. They basically run everything to it's full speed/capacity/capability to make sure everything is correct.
I would say that schedule is on-time, not early.
Independence was early & Oasis was early (although different shipyard from Quantum.)With Indy they moved up the Inaugural date from May 17th to May 2nd.
With Oasis they moved from 12th December to 5th December then added 1st December 4 night sailing also.
If Quantum is ready early then I don't think they will change the Maiden or Inaugural dates but will instead add on short cruise/cruises before she leaves Southampton for the US.
Thank you both for your responses.:).
@ Liz. I remember clearly the Oasis dates being changed.

An August 3 float out and September 21 conveyance down the Ems River has been mentioned on some websites.
If this schedule becomes reality, I wonder if they'll reschedule the TA and inaugural sailings.
-
No problem. I wonder when RCI posted them on the site?
They're good photos!
I didn't realise that the Two70 venue was built in halves.
Also nice to see that the FlowRider base has been installed.
I was wondering the same. Hopefully, they'll reposition the webcam for better views.:D

Thanks Lloyd for posting the larger pics. After I posted the thumbnails earlier, I was able to post the larger pics after I arrived at work.

It appears they're sticking with he light blue hull like the Oasis class ships.

Hopefully, they'll be able to get it under control.
