  1. Now Ty you know really he isn't too hot on dates when it comes to Quantum

Remember the first reveal...way back last year....when AG said one date for Quantum booking opening and Vicki Freed said another date...I don't think they are keen on giving dates anymore :D

This entire process with the Quantum is quite disappointing.

It appears as if they have no clue about anything and figuring things out day by day.

  2. I am waiting on Anthem routes out of FLL. The cabin plans sound and look good, the dining sounds interesting but it is the ports of call that I am waiting on. I will also miss the extra flow rider, but that is a first world problem.

    I am getting excited.

    Andrew

I am too. I'm excited about the new ship and the dynamic dining. If it doesn't work out...I'll simply go back to another ship.:D:cool:

  3. I'm not booked on either ship but the amount of drama/the Sky is falling is ridiculous. People are making assumptions about how bad things are going to be with dining bit the ship is not even in service. Sounds just like Oasis before she entered service.

On another little small board that I visit the drama is alive there too.;)

LOL! I agree 100%. We heard the same complaints and predictions how the Oasis class would ruin RC. SMH. Remember that ridiculous group that was created in protest....sheer craziness.

Instead of giving it a chance FIRST, people love to fan the flames by creating numerous threads (saying the same crap) and polls trying to incite others to join in.

Just cruise on another ship or line and be done with it. Why invest so much time and energy being negative.

  4. In the Google Hangout sessions Adam Goldstein suggested that there might well be a few more Quantum reveals.

I had hoped that on 26th March all would be revealed. However we do not know much about the entertainment as yet. We still do not know what's in some of the "More To Come" spaces. We've not seen the "Royal prom" substitute either.

Passengers are booked onto Quantum and Anthem, yet RCL are still tantalizing us with secrets. This is madness! It's gone on for too long!:(

Personally I would not book a ship until I knew exactly what I'd be getting for my buck!

    Did u cancel your booking?

  5. It's funny how everyone keeps saying RC "copied" NCL....so what!!! Other cruise lines have been integrating various RC innovations for years (i.e., Aqua parks, rock climbing walls, cantileverd whirlpools, etc.). Times are changing and ships are being designed to attract the next generation of cruisers.

  6. Having spent the last hour looking at the new information available on the Dynamic Dining options. I have to say that I find the new options exciting and creative. Many of us have seen changes over the years, and have commented about "The Good Old days" well now we have " The Dynamic New Days" and I am excited. Sure I used to enjoy the traditional MDR and meeting my table mates, but in recent years with the development of speciality dining, that has changed as often either you or your table mates are elsewhere.

It is time to move on folks, and the new offerings will only ensure that the standards are also pushed backwards across other ships, and that can only be good for all of us.

I really think that there will be great choices for everyone, giving choice to those that like to keep it casual, as well as fine dining options to people like myself that enjoy dressing for dinner and more formal options.

We are now beginning to see the influence of LLP and the new team, and they are clearly trying to up the game in innovation and creativity. I am excited and am very pleased that we will be on the very first sailing of this new style of cruising from Royal Caribbean.

I look back in amazement as to how far cruising has come in the last 10 years, WOW where will we be in another 10 years. :D:D:D

Very well said! Times are changing and RC has to adapt to compete and meet the demands of the next generation of cruisers. I think it's great! Variety is the spice of life.:D

  7. I'm not ready to lump it in the same way. Norwegian will have separate MDR rooms; themed slightly different, but still traditional style MDR's with MDR-type menus.

It's hard to say from my seat if NCL has been having a good time with upcharge restaurants or not. They have now come up with an unlimited dining plan which gets you to part with a good sum of money up front. On the other hand...they are giving this away as incentives as well. I haven't been on an NCL ship; I don't know how full those upcharge venues are or not. But there sure are a LOT of them. I think Royal will have a better balance AND be offering a touch of "specialty" dining in the included venues.

Just my thoughts. Could be wrong. We'll know more this evening.

I am not entirely change resistant; I am excited to hear the new concepts and ideas and discuss the virtues or potential flaws. I do admit that I very much prefer to have familiar waitstaff when possible; I find the service better and they become a bit more committed to providing exceptional service, a rapport is built. It's hard/difficult/impossible to do that with different dining staff each evening.

I remain an optimist. I sense the taking of the best parts of other cruise line concepts and adding some new innovation or twist to it. I believe the option will exist for people to be sat with strangers, but let's face it, these ships are marketed as family fun parks at sea. This is not where to go for a traditional cruise experience. These ships will be jam packed with families not because it was DisneyWorld or a cruise, it will be packed because it was Disney or Quantum. That's a distinction.

I agree. I think RCI is now building and targeting a new demographic. As times change, they have to adjust and adapt to attract/retain new cruisers. They still have a fleet with 20 other vessels that offer the traditional dining experience.

My only concern is making sure most of these new venues are fee free.

    :cool::)
