  1. We had some photos printed on our cruise in October...I don't remember the price but as others have said it wasn't too bad. I just take two memory cards with me. While one card is at the photo shop I have another to use for pictures. The photo shop couldn't print from my memory stick but was able to use a USB adapter so I believe you can transfer the pictures from memory card to USB and have the photos printed.

  2. I concur with the other posters...the Coral and Island are WONDERFUL ships!

If you have a chance the 6 Hr Catamaran tour through the Kenai Fjords National Park is AMAZING! It goes out of Seward (we used Major Marine Tours) and the variety of wildlife you see is great. We saw orca pods (even a baby), humpbacks, otters, sea lions, seals, puffins, black bears, mountain goats and more...it was one of the highlights of our trip.

    Enjoy your cruise...Alaska is breathtaking!

  3. My DH and I did a post-cruise excursion through Princess last November. We went to the Aquarium of the Pacific via bus (left our luggage on the bus) and after a great afternoon (be sure to buy "nectar" for the birds!). We also managed to squeeze in a "behind the scenes" which we really enjoyed. The excursion was available to those flying out of LAX after 3:30 pm. For us it was a great option. Enjoy your cruise!

  4. We met with the maître d' ahead of time to plan our dinner. Princess is very accommodating. We also traded our 1/2 bottle of champagne for a full bottle of Asti Spumante. We didn't finish the bottle so it was taken to the main dining room and we enjoyed it the next evening during dinner.
  5. I'll be praying for your daughter and your family. As a breast cancer survivor it is always uplifting to hear stories like your own. YEA for Princess! I do hope you enjoy your Alaskan cruise and hope your daughter and family will be able to join you on your next cruise.

  6. What is btb?

It is a back to back cruise. For example: 1st cruise from Vancouver to Whittier, 2nd cruise (don't get off the ship) from Whittier to Vancouver. This allows you to get round trip airfare in and out of the same airport.

  7. I agree. Just give them a call. I always purchase OBC totaling what I figure I'll be spending onboard. Have also order food items and OBC for friends. I have never had a problem getting what I've ordered.

    Have a GREAT cruise!

  8. I don't consider my Sea Pass an ugly thing. It costs more than most of my other necklaces.

    :D Great point Doris!

I too wear mine on a lanyard. We purchase coffee cards and I put them in a plastic pouch attached to my lanyard.

  9. We could rent a car, but really like you said we would probably prefer to just kick back and relax and have someone else take us. It's ok driving in the US when it's not too busy but I can imagine getting to a heat game could be busy.

Do you know of any limo companies we could check out that would do that kind of trip? Would it be easy to find the limo after the game?

We stayed at the Holiday Inn (in Miami) which is right across the street from the Miami Heat Stadium. It was great to just walk across the street to shops and the stadium. We used Infinity Transportation to get us from Miami to Port Everglades. It was a limo and cost in Oct 2013 was $ 140.

  10. We did the Princess excursion at Aquarium of the Pacific and it was great. Your luggage stays on the bus and we had plenty of time at the aquarium. We even managed to fit in a "Behind the Scenes" tour. When we were finished we got back on the bus and were dropped off at the airport. Very easy! You can book it via the cruise personalizer just as you do other excursions.

  11. Do it! We traded our 1/2 bottle of French Champagne for a full bottle of Asti Spumante  YUM!

Before your dinner you will be contacted regarding the menu. My husband and I like different things and Princess accommodated us with no problem. It is a great experience.

Enjoy your cruise (and Caribe balcony)!

  12. Princess in general has an older crowd (in my opinion) but that doesn't mean you won't have fun :) As others have said, Princess Cruises are not party ships and they will have activities for all ages.

My husband and I always purchase the UKP (Ultimate Kid's Package) for drinks. It $ 8.05 a day per person and provides unlimited soda, milkshakes, malts, juices and mocktails (the Key West Cooler is SO GOOD!!!).

I hope you (and your family) enjoy your cruise!

  13. Miranda,

I just make sure I walk A LOT! Stairs are always helpful! I eat whatever I want but eat small portions. At dinner I don't order a salad or appetizer...I hold off for the main course and dessert. Moderation in everything.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  14. Leaving next week for my 1st cruise in 30 years, getting excited.

I have a couple of dumb questions.....

    1) I know the dress code for dinner, is it more relaxed for Breakfast & Lunch?

    2) Is breakfast served in the MDR's as well as the buffet or just the buffet?

    TIA

    Hope your cruise is FANTASTIC!
