  1. OP here... Thank the good Lord above, I am well!  Got turned lose yesterday, was very weak and puny yesterday but was darn near normal today!  Credit to the medical staff and all of the folks involved in making me as comfortable as possible while this thing ran it’s course.

It does seem that for the past two days the CB is getting well too, and that is certainly a good thing.  Thank you all for the kind words and well wishes!

  2. I am the wife of the person who started this thread. We came onboard with peroxide wipes and immediately wiped our cabin down when we entered. We have never used a public restroom on board, never even set food in the buffet, used our knuckles on every button, washed our hands with soap continuously and used sanitizing gel at every opportunity and still he got the virus. We did not fly to Ft Lauderdale we drove. Princess’s crew is continually sanitizing every part of the ship so I really don’t know what the answer is on how to avoid getting sick other passengers MUST take responsibility for themselves and follow all directions of the crew. And, if you get sick REPORT IT and stay in your cabin until you are allowed to leave. Do not be selfish and only think of yourself....there are a lot of people on board who do not want to get sick because you didn’t follow orders.

We are also on this cruise.  One member our party was quarantined because of the virus.  Medical called, medications were sent to the room and the “hazmat” team was sent to clean. Cabin steward is not allowed in room to even bring ice.  On one of the first days on board a department head (not mentioning dept, do not want to get anyone in trouble) told us the captain was disembarking a passenger in St. Thomas for refusing to wash his hands in the buffet and being rude to staff.  Being served in buffet is a bit of a pain but necessary. I have not personally seen anyone object to hand washing in the buffet.  To the OP, have you been in the casino?  That is the only place my friend was that the rest of us did not go.  Also to OP, hope you are feeling better and are able to enjoy the rest of your cruise.

Yes, wife and I spend a lot of time in the casino and I suspect that this is where I got it.   So far, my wife is fine, praying it lasts.

  4. Yesterday I came down with the dreaded symptoms, self quarantined and reported to medical.  Med has been very helpful with a special diet, meds etc.

The captain just announced that there is in fact a Noro virus outbreak and special precautions will be taken.   This is two consecutive cruises for CP.  So far, my wife has been spared but that is the only good news.  First for me after 45 cruises.

  5. Tube amps....I echo the advise above and agree, love the crossings.  Plenty already discussed, but another daily feature in our most recent TA on Explorer they offered relatively new movies in the main theater on sea days @ 2:00pm.  Fresh popcorn and soft drinks served of course.

Me....I’m strictly solid state now, but remember the tube days.  Bandmaster, Bassman, Showman or if you had rich parents, maybe the Dual Showman!   Good times!

  6. You can sign up online in the same way you book excursions or dining, very simple.   Definitely not just seafood. We've done breakfast and crepes and are signed up for two more on our TA later this month, a Mediterranean and a seafood.  We really enjoy them!

  7. Was on Equinox a couple of weeks ago, great cruise thoroughly enjoyed it.   We were Aqua so Blu was our restaurant.  We had our favorite waiter, Wayne, and had to wait for 5 or 10 minutes occasionally.   The waiting area for Blu is just outside of LPC and they had a staff member out there trying to convince folks to book.   A bit aggressive for me.

We are also on this cruise, but note it leaves on Nov. 23 not 24, wouldn’t want you to be left behind.

    Pat

Wow, how crazy would that be......  We get get into Lisbon on the 19th, hopefully will see you on board!  Assuming I get to the pier on time....

frankdp, I was on Explorer 2 months ago, IMHO, the production shows were as good as any that I have seen at sea.  Don't miss Paradis, for me it was as good as it gets for cruise ship entertainment.

    Have a great cruise!

    Bob

Thanks Bob, we will certainly not miss it!

Had great variety,,,2 or 3 dance and song perf.by cast. Comedian, and great concert pianist. We only missed 1 nite ,due to being late back from excursion.Oh, also singer on 2 nites. That s one of the reason I booked again for Jan.

Only prob is hidden steps in theater. Are lighted ,but not enough and easy to miss.Do be careful, I fell and saw quite a few others. That really needs to be an incline,,not steps.

Glad to see theater filled most nites.Get there early for big show prod. for good seats.Hope that helps.

Will certainly pay attention in the theater and will advise the same for my wife, thank you!   15-20 minutes early for good seats?

I am basing my comments on the menus I have read, not impressed with the selections but we shall see.  I may not like Blu but I do like Celebrity so it’s no big deal, if we don’t enjoy Blu we’ll just avoid Aqua Class in the future.

    Sherri🙂

Absolutely!  Like Blu or not, you’re on a cruise, enjoy it!  Wife and I board Equinox this Friday for 10 days,  ABC, Grand Cayman and a Key West, Aqua Class....

  13. We really like Blu.   Much smaller and quieter than MDR.   Mostly 2 tops but larger tables are available.  The tables are very close together, making it easy to visit with your neighbors if you like.

The food is pretty darn good (not great), they claim it to be a healthier meal than the other choices but I wouldn’t bet on that.

We like Blu better than the for pay upgrade restaurants.   Enjoy it!

We decided to try the recently-announced Tampa 10-day for our 2021 anniversary, and agree the prices for S2 are "low" by recent Celebrity standards, so we booked one.  Our last Constellation Sky Suite experience (in Dec 2014, pre-Luminae and when Michael's was off-limits for lowly SS guests) wasn't all that great, but it gave us a little more stateroom space and the prices were much lower back then. Solstice class Sky Suites after that had considerably better decor and sea views.

Maybe I missed something, but is there such a thing as a "retreat" on the post-Revolution Constellation? If so, I sure don't see it on the post-rev deck plan shown on the X website.

I just booked 6115 for the Feb 15 sailing and the suite amenities included access to the Retreat.
