What everyone else said. My only concern is at 4 weeks, the bone is just starting to heal so you still will have a lot of swelling. My DH broke his tibia on 6/5 and he is still swelling a lot and uncomfortable. I would plan on taking it very easy, wearing a compression sock and taking asprin and aleve. Good luck, OP!.

Sea days are the best part of cruising minus Half Moon Cay! :)

Thanks for the informative review! Your excursions were the ones we would choose, too!

Here from Carnival! Great review, Kim. You need to book the Vista!! I am thinking Matt will get that cd spot and Sakari will have plenty of pools! [emoji6]. Kendra and crew seemed to have a much more relaxing trip than normal so, that was great to see!

Selfie in the mirror.
Jeans, spanx, and Texas heat. The struggle was real. LOL
The soda/water/wine area.

Hahaha I was just thinking that spanx were going to suck in the heat. The struggle really is real! :) Looking forward to your review!

You are welcome.
We always go for the taxi because sometimes the shuttles start later than we want, wait to fill up before departing for the port, or are more expensive.
We're actually contemplating Uber for our upcoming trip from the hotel to the Port of Seattle. We've never used Uber so it will be an adventure for us.
Off topic-I noticed your signature says you're in Lakeland FL. We've actually been to Lakeland. My high school friend and his family moved from RI to Lakeland a few years ago. We visited with them after our Dream cruise in April 2012.
Definitely use Uber! It is faster and cheaper!

Haha, have fun!

We missed a cruise because of an ice storm in Chicago and Carnival let us reschedule to 2 months later for a lesser or equal cruise. There was no fee but this was 2007.
-
There is no set night, you will get notification the night before when it will be held. It is typically on a port day and not on a formal night.
-
Dining- The chance is fairly good but if you don't get it, you can go to the Maitre D and ask for a change in time. If you don't get ATD, ask for late.
Gratuities- Yes, you can prepay. These cover the dining staff but not the Matrie D or room service.
Room Service- The polite thing is to leave it in your room and your steward will take it. Some people leave them in the hall, also.
Have fun, Sarah!

Happy birthday, Kim! Have a great cruise!

When I went at 18 years old, I just laid by the pool, swam, went to meals and shows with my parents, and made friends with people I met at dinner and around the ship.
-
I would choose the Vista solely on the ship and all the new fun things.

So what is your ideal Carnival cruise: How many days? What ports of call? What activities? What excursions? And what little sumpin' sumpin' extra makes your cruise special? Go ahead....spill the beans! :)
The rest of us want to know!
A 8 day exotic Southern Caribbean.
Sun every day. 80 degrees. Great food and bartenders. No CHOGs, a funny CD (Matt Mitcham) and 3 sea days. :)

They won't make an exception, no matter the excuse. It would open a can of worms and the word would spread like wildfire.

I would be heartbroken to not see HMC but as long as I get there once out of my two tries, I will be happy. I have never been to HMC, Grand Turk or Amber Cove (of course). Knock on wood but I have never missed a port.
-
For me, it would be hard to make it worth it if we do not have more than 2 days at sea. The ports, we tend to do all inclusive excursions and only drink 3-4 drinks on the ship that day. My husband only drinks beer, so, we won't be doing it on any of our upcoming cruises. I could probably drink enough Martini's, Margaritas and Tequila Sunrises to make it worth it but I wouldn't if I did not have Cheers.

I love it! So much more user friendly!

I never ran into bad smoke problems on the Valor. Plenty of shade is available. I love the Valor, enjoy!

Subscribing! :)

Yum! I cannot wait to try out these menus!!! Thanks for taking the time to post them!

Did you ever actually ask anyone for help? Because it sounds like you just assumed that they would know you wanted help. Unfortunately they are not mind readers. I'll bet if you asked for help (nicely) the situation would have been different.
Exactly.

I, too, am sorry you had a bad experience but usually Carnival crew members go above and beyond. That is a lot to happen in 3 short days. Perhaps another cruise line is better for your needs. Good luck.
