    Regarding request to earn Princess Visa DOUBLE points from these Princess Gift Card purchases:


    (Background Note: 
    Now when you use a Barclays Princess Rewards Visa credit card to purchase Princess Gift Cards through Princess.com, the fulfillment is through new third-party vendor Buyatab and the purchase earns SINGLE points; previous purchases through Princess.com earned DOUBLE points.)

    • I called Princess BarclayCard at 1-302-255-888 and opened a ticket with "Jake"; their Research Team should get back to me within 10 to 15 days.
       
    • I then called Princess Gift Card Support at 1-833-907-3079 (this is at Buyatab) and opened a ticket with "Sharon"; their support staff (princess@buyatab.com) should get back to me in 24 to 48 hours.  Sharon agreed with me that the transaction description probably was changed since the promo in May; she is documenting that the transaction description now begins with "Buyatab - Pr " when it should begin with "Buyatab - Princess " [in hopes that BarclayCard will identify these transactions as Princess-related].

  2. Our perks from our cancelled July cruise* -- OBC, Specialty Dining, and Box of Chocolates Promotion -- also were transferred to our replacement November sailing.

     

    *In addition, our replacement went from a 4-night Ruby Princess obstructed oceanview to a 7-night Royal Class obstructed balcony [extended angled balcony and *not* obstructed].

    I guess we have no idea when Discovery Princess will actually be ready, but for the time being Princess is still listing its inaugural Los Angeles round-trip sailing as March 1, 2022.

    My apologies;  I should have clarified better what I meant when I said with apostrophes  "same":

    • Pizza of the Day on a certain day on Grand was for example "Margherita" at both Slice and Alfredo; they were called by the same name at both venues, but in actuality were very different pizzas (yes, definitely different "from the crust and up").

      -- And on Grand, I personally have tried the same-named Pizza of the Day on the same day from both Alfredo's and Slices; and yes, ABSOLUTELY they were very different pizzas.  😄

    Agreed, though that perhaps may be only from Slice and Room Service -- rather than from Alfredo's (and possibly Gigi's in the future) which in the past has been Eat-In only.

    Alfredo's fortunately was open for lunch on embarkation day on all our Royal Princess sailings (last time February 2020).

     

    We especially enjoy a lunch at Alfredo's on embarkation days when we can arrive at Alfredo's before there is a line -- such as when we're transit guests on B2Bs and can get there before the non-transit guests arrive.  😉

     

    Our favorite Alfredo's pizza, every time:

    Pizza Tarantina:  Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Mussels, Bay Shrimp, Roasted Garlic, Capers, Basil, Oregano.

    And then there's obviously the problem with Medallion Class testing.

     

    Or rather in the case of this app, severe lack of.

     

    How can a client like Princess allow this app to be rolled out in crippled spurts like we have been seeing for months and months? . . .  And with very basic functionality still missing?

     

    For example, once a medallion order gets to the Check Out step, I am unable to delete a medallion from the cart. . . .

    -- Oh, perhaps Cart item Delete wasn't in the specs.  😏

    No error messages nor problems this morning.  I ordered 500 x 4 E-Gift Cards this morning at 3:54 am PT (Friday 6:54 am ET); I received by email the receipt at 3:55 AM, followed by the 4 gift cards (4 emails) and bonus cards (1 email) at 3:57 AM.

    NOTE:  This was my second order of 500 x 4 E-Gift Cards. 

     

    -- My previous order was made earlier this week on Wednesday at 11:19 am PT; I received by email the receipt at 11:20 AM, followed by the 4 gift cards (4 emails) and bonus cards (1 email) at 11:22 AM.

     

    -- Both times I ordered using my Princess Barclays Card Visa. 

     

    -- The first time this week I received an informational text from my Princess visa (after I already received the E-gift cards by email):

    "Free Fraud Alert:

    Princess Rewards Card ending in {XXXX} - A charge for $2,000.00 at EGIFT CARD{999 999 9999} was APPROVED on 07/07. Reply 1 if valid. Reply 2 if not valid."

    None of my bookings appeared under "My Journeys" of the OceanReady Profile screen of the Ocean Medallion app; when I attempted "Link Your Booking" for any of my unlisted bookings I got the message "This booking has already been claimed" . . .

    I had a "This booking has already been claimed" issue for my 10 bookings; I emailed AskOceanMedallion and got resolution in a couple of days.  Perhaps the following will help:

    This sounds similar to the issue I had with none of my 10 bookings showing up under "My Journeys" on the OceanReady Profile screen (of the OceanMedallion app);  Princess needed to update something so that my bookings appeared on the app.

     

    You can email askoceanmedallion@carnival.com  [or alias A360ad7@carnival.com ] and see if they can quickly resolve this issue.

     

    See the attached screenshot of the email I sent to AskOceanMedallion and reply from Princess; my bookings* showed up on the app less than 2 days later.

     

    *I did not actually get a resolution update email from Princess; I just pulled up the app and the bookings were there.

    FYI:

    If any of your bookings are B2Bs -- once you get the bookings appearing on the app:

    Verify the B2B is listed correctly on the app; my B2B2B listing on the app was combined with the following sailing that embarked a day later on another ship.

  18. I had the same results, installing 4 different Android emulators on my Windows 10 PC in an attempt to get the MedallionClass app running on Windows: 

    • BlueStacks (v5.0.220.1003),
    • NoxPlayer (v7.0.1.2), 
    • LDPlayer (v4.0.57.1), and
    • MEmuPlayer (v7.5.3).

     

    Some MedallionClass on Windows PC links:

    My results:

    • I wasn't able to get LDPlayer nor MEmuPlayer running correctly.
       
    • On BlueStacks, the MedallionClass app doesn't come up on Google Play Store.

    • On NoxPlayer, the MedallionClass app comes up on the Google Play Store list -- but clicking on it I get "Item not found".

    • From both the BlueStacks and NoxPlayer browsers, I then pulled up the Princess Medallion link ( https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ocean-medallion/ ); with both I got the "Your device isn't compatible with this version" message.

    Researching further, it appears the most recent Android operating system for emulation on Windows is Android Nougat version 7.1.3_r39, last updated October 2019.

    I keep wishing there was a 15-night, SF-Sea of Cortez-Mexican Riviera-SF itinerary, with stops in Loreto and La Paz -- in addition to Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta, plus the extra sea days.

    We also love sea days and actually prefer cruises with more sea days relative to port days.

     

    So for us, cruising out of San Francisco to get extra sea days is a huge plus.
