We were also on this cruise.  Overall, we had a great time and the ship is looking really fine.  I agree about the internet - we got stream and while sometimes it was ok at other times it was really slow.  Interestingly, it always seems worse when you're in port for some reason - it seems to me it should be the opposite.

We dined in one specialty restaurant - Murano, where we have dined a number of times before on this and other ships.  Honestly, we were disappointed.  We had the pork belly appetizer which was nothing but fat (I know it will have some, but this was the worst we've ever had) and the salad dressing for my salad was awful - literally as thick as jam and not very tasty.  The dover sole, thankfully, was great as always as was the souffle.

I was a little disappointed that this Captain was not very communicative. For example, I would have liked to understand more about the Covid situation.  In particular, I don't understand why our ship was in orange status on the CDC chart (which means 3% or more cases) but the Captain only said 1%.  There may be a reasonable explanation but I would like to have heard it.

We did not go to the production shows, so can't comment on them.  We saw most of the other entertainers and I thought they were good, but not as good as those on our 21 days on Connie in January.  The live music was very good, but sometimes there was not as much during pre-dinner and dinner time as I would like.  But the musicians were very talented.

I believe that orange is over .3%.  I may be wrong.  I'll have to check CDC website.

We are elite plus with Celebrity and have been denied every shareholder credit we have requested.  After numerous back and forth conversations on numerous cruises, we have been advised if your cruise is booked with ANY promotion or pricing OF ANY KIND, you will not receive the credit.  We have never received our shareholder credit on any Celebrity cruise.  Its frustrating considering Holland American always provides the shareholder credit regardless of what promotion you may have received.

I guess I am not sure what you mean by any promotion?  We have booked both directly and with a TA and have always received the credit, but often have to submit more than once-who knows why.  Kind of frustrating to have to submit more than once.

Download the Celebrity App.    Select your cruise and click on activities.    Important to change filter from Recommended to ALL.    You can then click day by day and browse.

I do have the app and used on my last cruise.  Weird because when I select activities, it only gives me places (lawn club, pool deck, solarium, etc).  I see on the planner that one can choose "show all" but all I am basically getting are shore excursions.

I just took a quick look at our 12 N souther Caribbean cruise april 24 and so far I have found two Beyond the Podiums scheduled... day 2, 4, 7 and 9.

Curious how you found this info ahead of the cruise.  Would love to see if we have one on our upcoming cruise in two weeks.

  5. As Elite members we were able to each get 4 drinks per day-it was not at a specific time or place-anywhere on the ship and again at any time.  That was in October/November.  I don't know for sure, but I believe that is still the same.

  6. Thanks for your review!   We had Celia on our Millennium Panama Canal cruise in the fall and enjoyed her as well.

I find Cartegena to be really beautiful in the historical center.  But I have to say that the vendors tend to ruin the experience.  It's no fun to walk around and constantly fend them off.  Sad, because it really is a beautiful area.

Lastly, I have been on many Celebrity cruises and on the Silhouette twice before but have no clue about the Taj experience.  Where and when is it?

  7. We were not tested during our transit on the Milli in November.  I do believe I read about a HAL ship prior to that who they were made to test all of their crew (not passengers).  I can say when we stopped in Panama, you were not able to go on excursions unless they were Celebrity excursions (staying in the bubble).

The social media post says Test cruise is 1/27 and will be on the Harmony. Can anyone currently on the Harmony try to check this out???

Oh that is exciting!  I will be on that sailing.  Would love to have this as a beach day and a stop we could count on.

  9. I don't think I would try the train with the two little ones and luggage etc.  Use Romeinlimo or check the destination boards for transport.  Also, why not just ask for a pack and play?  Unless there is not room for two.  I have twin grandsons that are 20 months and I think it would be difficult to navigate the train and all the luggage with them..

Love hearing that.  We just got off Allure and we were right at 50%, loved seeing more people around the ship, it was great.

Curious.  Thinking of booking Harmony.  Were there many non-vaxed on board?  We just got off the Celebrity Millennium and there was only one child, so the rest of us had been vaxed.
