Please don't stop the banter and jokes, I love em.:D
Talking off topic, I am pleased to report that finally we are getting some
good rains down here, woo hoo.:):)
-
received an email today.
Explorer of the seas, 13 nights south pacific. 30th March, 2016. $769.
Would jump at that but I know it would cost us an arm and a leg in
flights.:D:D
-
We always sit in the same seats, not because we are being awkward but
that DH has quite bad eyesight and needs the best lighting at the table
to read the menu, otherwise I have to read it out to him which may
annoy other diners, most people we sit with are understanding when
we explain the situation.:)

It's those darned bread rolls fault, got stuck into them on our 1st Princess
cruise in 2008, 28 night cruise and nearly passed out when my clothes
didn't fit. Now I sit in the dining room and look at them and say
"you are not there, YOU ARE NOT THERE" so far it's working.:D:D

There is a Chinese place that has the best dumplings I have ever had.
Don't know the name but it is nearly opposite the Victoria University in
Flinders Lane, the Uni is 301 Flinders Lane if that is ay help.:)

Spirit 11 is now on the run again.:D

We were on the Diamond Princess in Nov/Dec, traditional dining and I must
admit I struggled every night to find something I would eat, this has never
happened before and we have been many times on the sun class ships.
As for the Curtis Stone rubbish, DH and others on our table ordered the
belly pork and couldn't eat it. I tried the leek and chicken pie one night
that was it pie no vegetables offered with it and it came with a spoon as
it is so sloppy.
-
I hope they bring the old menus back, I really struggled to find something
I would eat and I am not a fussy eater, even the soups were peculiar at times
I resorted to asking for a bowl of vegetables.:D

skywalkers was open for platinum, elite and suites from 5.00 to 7.00 p.m
each night with a selection of drinks at $7.00 each and nibbles, we really
enjoyed our early evenings up there:)

Hi everyone, just popped on to use my minutes up before packing,
The Diamond Princess looks amazing with the Christmas decorations.
We have been on board for the actual 50 year anniversary, which was
fun, we have decided we prefer the sun class ships to the Diamond,
but at least we have tried it, and I am pleased to report that there
appears no sickness on board.:D:D
-
We can't believe how quick it went either.
Boarded one month ago today.
75 days is now fair and square on the bucket list.
Safe trip home Gut and Mrs Gut, we leave very early in the morning.
Will try to check this board but you all know how slow the internet is
on board.:D:D

A fair old wind, and now a bit of rain.
Worst bit is it is almost over.
Which means it's nearly our turn. Four more sleeps.:D:D
-
So far Diamond has missed at least one port each cruise this season since arriving in Sydney.
Don't say tat Gut it would be just our luck to miss Vila like we did last
year.:(

Hi Awesome girl, I am on a cruise in a few weeks that stops in Melbourne. Can you please tell me the name of the Cake Shop - or if you don't know which end of Lonsdale Street it is situated or any landmarks around it so that I can ferret it out. Thanks.
I think it is called the Continental, if you are in the Bourke Street Mall,
turn left into Swanson Street and keep walking up until you come to
Lonsdale and turn right into Lonsdale, it's on the right about another
block. Hope my directions are clear enough, by the way the coffee is
good too. DH reckons I'm like a kid in a lolly shop when we go there,
enjoy.:)

Every time we have taken the free City Circle Tram it has been very crowded. Hard to see where you are. Forget sightseeing from it , but excellent to get around and use as a Hop on Hop off.
One of our best tram rides was out to St Kilda. We had a good look around there. Next time we are going back to visit THAT amazing Cake shop..:D:D
Oh yes David, the amazing cake shops, but no need to go to St Kilda,
there is one in Lonsdale Street which is just as good.:)
-
A question for you Gut, can you ask your DW which deck the fancy toilet
is on, after all the posts on the Princess sight would like to check it out,
do you like the Diamond or do you find it too big?:):)
-
I was on Sea Princess a couple of years ago for Australia Day, and yes
lots of people with Aussie themed things on.:D
-
A magnet to keep invitations etc on the wall where I can see them,
people tend to forget that the walls are metal.:)
-
Going up and down the stairs where the spare bed is, and deciding what
I can do without, at the moment it's 5 weeks before our cruise and the
bed is already protesting at the weight.:)
The other thing is that I insist DH takes me out to dinner the night before,
so that I don't have to use the old grey matter.:D:D
-
I have actually looked at that option, and it could work, but not getting
back as the Spirit would leave too early and luggage would be a problem
for a night sailing.:D
-
I wonder what will happen if my cruise, due in 24th is delayed?
Now then Gut you can't do that to me, I need my holiday, and don't even
think of jumping overboard the night before, we had that nonsense last
year and missed a day on board.:D:D
-
What a hoot, read this thread from the beginning. I will be on the Diamond
in about 6 weeks time, but I bet they have taken all these amazing
toilets out as she is in Australia for our spring and summer.:D:D

Hopefully Princess will schedule a few New Caledonia & Vanuatu itineraries out of Melbourne in June and July 2017 with either Sun, Sea or Golden Princess.
The penny still has NOT sunk in with either Princess Miami HO or Princess Australia - In June and July it is freezing in Victoria & Tasmania and that is the time we want to get away on Pacific cruises . Huge new business opportunity for Princess , but don't seem interested . June and July the temperatures are ideal in New Caledonia , Vanuatu, Isle of Pines, Champagne Bay etc and it is Dry season so ideal time for Victorians & Tasmanians to get away to warmer weather in the South Pacific.
PS: Princess why do you treat Melbourne as a second class citizen in this regard ? You run New Caledonia & Vanuatu ex Sydney & Brisbane in Winter months but not Melbourne ? Its a no brainer back to back departures to South Pacific ex Melbourne all June & July each year would be brilliant sellers . Within a year perhaps even a 35 day round trip Hawaii from Melbourne also .
I was only looking the other day for a cruise to the Pacific in June on
Princess no luck at all. I was only looking as I have an 0 birthday next year.:D:D
It would make sense to have one from Melbourne, we can see it but can they?:)

How's the free coffee? I've learned to love tea ;)
Me too, only trouble is I take milk in my tea, but in the dining room I
ask for a small pot with 2 teabags.:D:D
Too excited.......
