  1. Thanks! How did you book it? Though the cruise line, or were you able to contact them independently? We've been there before & would love to return but thought we were out of luck.

Following, I would be interested in this info. as well. We are having a hard time finding something to do in Freeport but I know we want to go to a beach. We had booked something through Pat and Diane's but they canceled on us.

  2. Has anyone planned this one on their own, without going through a tour group? I was interested in reserving a cabana at the Atlantis but with all of their cancellation penalties I'm wondering what they have been known to do if a ship misses their port or has to change the day in port due to weather? If you reserve a cabana, you pay for it up front and also have to purchase the waterpark tickets up front at $135 a person and I'm worried about getting our money back if we had to cancel due to weather or anything else like that.

  3. This is our first time doing the Eastern Caribbean cruise (Keys, Freeport, Nassau). Are any of these ports "tendering" ports? Wondering if we should try to purchase FTTF if any of them are...

  4. These are some really cute ideas! We are going on our cruise over the July 4th holiday and I think this would be a great thing to do for our cruise. We have first timers and old timers going, I think this would be a great surprise for our group!

  5. The vendor includes the cost of the flight, but it would require a cab ride to get to the airport. We have not been to Belize before, which is why I am a little leery. My husband and older daughter would like to snorkel at Shark Ray Alley but myself and younger daughter don't like snorkeling . The Carnival Excursion is expensive, considering 2 of us would not even get in the water. I guess my husband and older daughter could do the Carnival Excursion and my younger daughter and I could do something else, but that isn't ideal.

We do have trip insurance, but I am not sure if it covers the ship leaving without us.

We did a tour a few years ago when we went to Belize. It was the Shark Ray Alley by Air, I think it was by EcoTours. We were picked up at the port and taken to the airport (wasn't very far) and it was about a 15 min. flight to San Pedro. We got to see everything by air and then the snorkeling was amazing, saw tons of stingrays, an eel, some turtles and then went to a different spot and swam with nurse sharks. The planes are taking off pretty regularly, we were back by 3pm and had plenty of time to make it back to the ship. I wouldn't hesitate to do this tour again!

  6. I'm thinking about booking Mr. Sancho's all-inclusive through shoreexcursioneer.com. They are a little cheaper than booking directly through Mr. Sanchos. Has anyone done this? Just worried the reservation will not be there when we arrive.

We have used shoreexcursioneer several times without problem. When you walk up to the check in at Mr. Sanchos they will have your name on a list, just take the print out of your confirmation just in case. Great food, very clean beach and very relaxing! You can also sign up for parasailing or some of the other beach activities when you get there.

  7. We've used Captain Marvin's 3 times in the past and are using their services again next month. Although we have not done this specific tour they are offering, all our experiences have been awesome. I can't see how this would be any different for this tour you're asking about. Give them a shot and have a great time. Good Luck...

Ok, thank you! I think we used them several years ago on an excursion through Carnival and I remember the boat being crowded. That was what I was trying to avoid by going through Trip Advisor and they directed me through Viator. When you used them, was there a lot of people on the tour with you? We have 11 people going.

  8. We always travel with a vacation vault. It is big enough for passports wallets, cash and a small camera. It will not fit a super zoom camera or an ipad. We lock it to the chairs. Now can someone come along and just take the chairs yes-but it would be awkward for them. Bottom line is a thief will get what they want but they usually go for the easier targets. The purpose of the vacation vault is to not be the easy target. We love it.

This sounds good, where do you get the vacation vault and how much do they run?

  9. I might be the only one not a fan of Sabatini's for breakfast, the service was very slow (only about 3 other tables eating while we were there), the food was very bland (how do you mess up hash browns?), and watered down mimosas (not a fan even if complimentary). We preferred the International Café for breakfast instead (breakfast sandwiches and raspberry beignets!). Ok, on to the perks: the room itself was amazing, the complimentary meal in the specialty restaurant the first night (best meal of the cruise at the Crown Grill), calling room service and being able to order anything from afternoon tea to a pizza and having it set up on our balcony, free laundry, and finally just the service itself was top notch!

  10. We booked a Misty fjord float plane excursion and am now having second thoughts. Our budget is fairly tight and already I am worrying about whether we will have enough "fun money" for the various ports, not to mention any extras we might want to purchase on the cruise ship. I'm seriously debating canceling the excursion because, quite frankly, $500 would make for a lot of fun money. I can't decide if we'd get more enjoyment on the 2 hr tour, or the spending of the $500 on various things. Thoughts or advice anyone?

We did the float plane a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it! It ended up that our helicopter excursion was cancelled due to weather and the floatplane was the only way we got to see Alaska from the air. Alaska is very expensive compared to the other destinations we have been to but it has such different, once in a lifetime things you get to do while there, go for the stuff you can't do at home and think about how long you would keep trinkets until it's time for a garage sale. It's the memories that last a lifetime!

  11. Hi,

Just wondering if this is a good location, aft, C752 on the Crown.

    Is it private, noisy, etc?

    Thanks!

We were in C751 on the Crown a few weeks ago and loved it! We were out on our balcony a lot and really enjoyed the wake. There was no wind so we had afternoon tea one day and lunch and breakfast on the balcony a couple of other times. The vibrations were not bad unless you were coming into port which you would probably be awake anyway. I think being in the Aft balcony sounded like a constant waterfall outside your cabin but I thought it was very relaxing! The dining room we were in was Aft (Botacelli) so that was convenient for dinner but just about everything else you had to go up the hall to the midship or forward elevators to get to but I would gladly do it again to get this cabin! On the privacy, we could not see anyone above or below us, the only time we saw our neighbors were when we were leaning over the balcony to look at something the same time they were. Enjoy!

  12. Sounds like you think you hit the lottery with FTTF:eek: Anyone can get priority tendering, all they need to do is be at the front of the line to leave the ship. Basically, all you bought for $59 was being able to get into your cabin early.

I did buy it to be able for our group to stay with my mom and dad and get in our cabins the same time as they get to get into their suite. I have had FTTF before and if you do not have that, they will put Carnival excursions ahead of you to get off the ship at tender ports and one of our stops is Cayman so definitely a plus for that. Where I disagree with Carnival is that this perk is not included in their suite benefits and that my dad should pay another $59 on top of what he is already paying for a suite just to get an early tender with us.

  13. Priority tendering (if needed)

    Priority line at Guest Services

Wow, Carnival is really missing the boat on this one. He is paying so much extra for the suite, you would think he would also get those 2 perks when we only paid $59.00 to get them. We were on Princess in a suite this summer and they really had a lot of perks for the extra money. If only Princess had a cruise out of Galveston or even Houston next summer we would definitely rebook with them!
