I've sent 3 at different times. For each I got an automated response that they got my email and would respond.
I NEVER received a direct response after that automated one to any of the 3:(
Same experience here. I emailed RCCL twice in the past. Both times got an automated reply but never got any other response after that. It has been a year :)

When I travel with my Verizon phone I usual enable international data. This works on the ship and in most ports. Verizon is one of the few providers that offer a very reasonable rate for data. on the ship and in most ports its 25$ per 100MB if you turn the plan on . This would allow you to Imessage others as it uses data. you can get all the info here.
http://www.verizonwireless.com/wcms/global/plans-and-pricing.html
I personally have not used more than 100MB on a trip as I just hop online to get an email or 2 and chat with the people back on land for a bit each day .
This.
We have Verizon and I always enable the international data feature when going on cruises. Like mentioned above, you get a 100MB allowance which should be more than enough for email. You can also send and receive text messages via email. You just have to know the email address. For Verizon it is <phone#>@vtext.com
Just be sure to turn off all automatic sync options (weather, facebook, etc...) in settings so that your phone does not use data automatically.

Read the post just above yours, from 16 hours ago...

Thanks. I skimmed the posts and missed that part.
Good to know that they do provide you with a cell phone.

Anyone know how the daycare contacts the parents in case of emergency?
On Disney, they have sea phones, so if they have to get a hold of you on the ship its really easy. Whats the procedure on RCCL?

Hope all that have been waiting enjoy the cruise. My sister and I leave next Weds on the Triumph. I hope all this nasty fog is gone by then. Losing a day on a 4 day cruise is a lot!
Hmm. I don't think that the Triumph is in Galveston next Wed.
You will be sitting there staring at an empty dock :)
It leaves this Sat and comes back next Thurs

Ships / Pilots should just find a way to sail through fog. Issue solved :)
...at least passenger ships

Having been on NCL several times, I have no idea what this nickel and diming that you speak of...

Not really familiar with refundable vs non-refundable OBC. I thought it was all the same :)
$250 is from TA
$150 is from RCCL
$200 is from RCCL Visa Rewards so I guess its also from RCCL
-
For our next RCCL we will have $600 OBC :eek:
...and the gratuities are already pre-paid
Since you have to pre-pay for excursions when booking online has anyone found a way to (1) Book online but (2) eventually pay with OBC?
I was thinking, buy excursions online then cancel them on board and then re-book but I am sure that won't work since they would most likely give the refund in form of OBC
Our other option is to just wait and book excursions on board and hope that the one we want is not full.
Any suggestions?
$600 OBC is a lot of 2 adults and 1 toddler :)
We do plan on utilizing Royal Tots nursery a lot so OBC will go towards that. Other than that, we are not big drinkers...We do play Bingo, buy photos, gifts, etc...onboard.

most likely a web site update
Who the heck performs any major updates during business hours? It's something that's usually performed at night...unless their IT is on ship time :)

The web servers got infected with norovirus

Website seems to be completely down at the moment. No matter what section you try to access, including the main homepage it says:
OOOPS...LOOKS LIKE ROYALCARIBBEAN.COM IS ON VACATION

We just changed our reservation from E1 to D1 today (Navigator) and had to pay extra. It was not cheaper than E1.
We decided to go from E1 to D1 because we will be traveling with a 2 year old who is now too big for a pack n play and all E1's have a pullman but no sofa bed.

Here is the link from the RCI website MyCruiseSM Rewards You will sign in just as if you were signing in on the BofA site using the same User ID and password. You can always call the RCI Redemption Center at 1-888-305-4626 if you have any questions.
Thanks. I had that link. Was just wondering if anyone has the option to view the rewards info straight from the main BofA online banking site instead of going to another site. Guess not. I was hoping I could transfer points from my other BofA cards to this one. Wishful thinking :D
-
Another question regarding the BofA RCCL Visa.
When you log into your BofA account and view the card info, do you have a section or a tab for Rewards or do you go to another site for that?
I just recently got this card but already had several other BofA Reward cards. All those have a Reward section within the account info page and you can transfer points between cards. This RCCL card doesn't have this. So just wanted to see if its just me or if its like that for everyone.

We just got back on the Magic and as said already, there is a booth for collecting the tax as you walk toward the terminal door after customs. We didn't have any liquor, but it seems to be pretty much on the honor system. No one is checking your residency or checking your bags.
Exactly. You can just say no and walk out ;)
There was one lady asking and she was not with CBP
This article was recently published on the Royal Caribbean blog, its says "Navigator of the Seas is completely revitalized and ready to resume year-round service from Galveston, Texas."
http://www.royalcaribbean.com/connect/blog/shes-backnavigator-of-the-seas-emerges-after-massive-makeover/
Nothing in the article states any plans to relocate to San Juan. Looks like Galveston will be keeping there ship.
I was wondering about this as well.
I thought Navigator is staying in Galveston but if it is going somewhere else in 2015, will RCCL send another ship to Galveston then? -
Royal Caribbean comes in but Carnival isn't there yet. That's dumb. They should of sped up to beat this light fog.

Ok, disregard that. The Magic was not delayed due to fog.
Carnival Magic is late because it had to change route over night and go towards New Orleans due to medical emergency.

That's weird because checking forecast hour by hour on several sites doesn't show fog. Just says cloudy.

Thanks for the info.
Were the hours and prices the same on port days as sea days?

Thanks but that is the info regarding the in room babysitting. I'm looking for more info regarding Royal Babies and Tots nursery.

Question for those who have used babies & tots or know someone who have:
Are reservations to drop off a child still required?
If yes, is it possible to reserve the time slots online in advance or is this only done on board?
(With Disney we were able to reserve babysitting slots well in advance prior to the cruise.)
Is it still $6 per hour during the day and $8 per hour at night?
What are their hours? RCCL website has no info regarding that.
Port of Galveston closed
