Thanks. It is important to remember that some things are "one of" or "random."
Another one of those randomizers with me specifically is that I am so rarely where I am supposed to be when I am supposed to be there while on ship.;)
I totally lose track of time, or get wrapped up in something else. (Without giving any consideration that I am traveling as a family & have their schedules to keep in mind too. I do give them consideration - I meant that I can't do X if my son is doing Y.)

Thanks.
I like the idea of boot camp, but not at that rate ($30 each).
I spin in my gym at home, so I am not to terribly interested in doing that on the cruise.
Good to know that I should budget closer to $15 than $10

Thanks again.

I love fish! I can't eat shell fish & choose not to eat poultry, beef, & pork. So I am happy to hear about fish options. Thanks for the actual menus too.

Thanks - is the whole cake "worth" it?
Can it be delivered at lunchtime to a specialty restaurant?

Another great post.
I am eagerly anticipating the rest of your posts & feel quite confident that you will be finished by the time I am on the Grandeur in 18 days. (I had feared that you might take 5 times as long as your trip to write your report.;))

It will be my birthday on the last day of our cruise. Not a big deal for me, but I am traveling with my 5 year old son & every holiday (birthdays included) is a big deal to him.
What does RCCL do for Birthdays? What do we need to do to have them do anything. (I'm sure they will know...)
On Carnival, you can buy a specialty cake. Anything like that on RCCL? (We thought the specialty cake on Carnival was great BTW.)

I just pre-booked Izumi @$10 per person. Any additional is added to the seapass, any less is credited to the seapass.
The $3 & $5 include gratuities.
Novel idea on my part - I went to the RCCL website & read instead of just asking on RCCL, but had I not asked here, I would not have known about the ability to eat sushi after the demonstration & after the galley tour. (Not that either of those are a great idea for me - I only eat the fish not the shell fish.)

Does $10-$15 sound right for the cost of the Pilates or boot camp classes on offer in the gym?

$10-$15 sound right for the Pilates & Boot Camp classes?
-
Thanks, I plan on working out on my cruise & classes are usually most efficient time wise.
-
Thanks for all of the comments - I need to budget for sushi. (I've never budgeted for food on a cruise before.)
-
How is this priced? Like a shore side sushi restaurant? Is it open for lunch or just dinner?
-
Any idea what type of classes are on offer?
-
Thanks for the information & the price list. (Our local dry cleaners is a lot less expensive $1.99 for most items.)
-
In the past we have sailed on Carnival ships & used their laundry facilities - yes, we did laundry on vacation.
Also we have sailed on HAL & used their unlimited laundry service.
Does RCCL (Grandeur specifically) has any laundry service - that is not like a hotel - aka very pricey.
-
Thanks again for more information.

Please tell me there will be more. I will be on Grandeur in a couple weeks.

My first "big" cruise was on Royal several years ago now (2008) on Adventure of the Seas. My family is returning to Grandeur of the Seas in a couple weeks.
As a family, we have been on several Carnival cruises & one HAL cruise.
I say all of that with the caveat that food is subjective, but I found it all to be similar & worth what I paid for my cruise vacation. (It is in general, cruise food tends to be too rich for my taste.)
Also, I have not had a meal in a specialty restaurant on a cruise - though I am thinking about trying the sushi on Grandeur.
-
Thanks,
We live close enough & I as a result will probably plan on arriving later rather than earlier - though I like getting on early... Toss up right now, we'll probably leave the house when we are ready to leave rather than will an arrival time in mind... :o)
-
That's good, I thought that I read that sauna & steam were extra... I asked hoping that was wrong, but it is better to be prepared ahead of time.
-
Thanks. My cruise is in 20-ish days, so my questions are starting to flow.
-
On sea days, is the MDR open for breakfast & lunch? I'll be on Grandeur if the class of ship dictates.
-
Is the Windjammer the only lunch option?
When are the rooms ready? 1:00?
I'm trying to pan my arrival & if I have to eat in a crowded cafe, I don't want to do it with my carry-on bags too.

He is upset that we won't have time to go to K-mart on St. Thomas. (I can't make this stuff up.):o
Luckily we do have shopping time on the other islands.
