  1. I had no idea what a nonperil is, so I Googled :) Aren't they basically the same as Sno-caps? Or are the ones onboard 20 times better? I'm very curious lol

They are WAY WAY better! Thicker and yummy. I have been looking all over for the white chocolate ones all yr.

  2. With the constant fog problems and other issues pertaining to this port, JMHO, but I dont know why cruiselines continue to sail from this port. Hope all get back to normal soon!....Happy Cruising!

So other ports don't have fog? Heaven forbid there be a accident but that the Galveston ports fault right? Give me a break!

People please think before you post things like this!

  3. LOVE the Magic. Sailed on her last March and booked again for Christmas week. You won't be in your room enough to sweat the size. Just plan showers and stuff. You are so close to the action you can hang on Lido or deck 5.

My kids love the water slides and hot tubs on deck 5. Don't miss the magic show! My kids loved it! They also enjoyed the 2 parties they have on the Lido by the pool. One is a red night and one is blue. They hand out glow sticks and stuff and its super fun! The blue night they have a huge late night mexican buffet. Its fun to grab a few things after all the dancing!

The last sea day they do a chocolate buffet! So Awesome! Don't miss it!

Also on sea days on deck 5 on the side is the Seaside Bbq. It has some yummy lunch options.

My kids really enjoy the camps. Our rule is they have to go at night for a little while so Mommy and Daddy can have some free time. My daughter enjoyed the scavenger hunts but she had sign in and out.

Ton to do on those islands so just do your research and you will find something cool. We will be doing the Roatan route next time. Its my favorite!

  4. I will never cruise out of Galveston again. I wish we were aware of the fog problem in the bay. Our ship spent over 3 hours in the bay before docking. I realize Carnival can't control the weather.

All ports can have fog. I can't believe you even typed this statement.

  5. We brought 10 "hagadahs" (books to be read during a Seder) last year on our Panama Canal cruise. We asked at the service desk about a room---they had to check with corporate. We were amazed at how (when given approval) they then bent over backwards to help out. They publicized it in the Funtimes, provided a room, had the chef (from India) learn -- or try to learn --- how to make all the foods necessary for the seder. They also had a Passover menu available at all meals for a week. Then the chef, cruise director, 6 officers, 4 waiters waited for guests to arrive in the piano bar. THEY GAVE THEIR ALL--when the Manishevitz wine ran low they raced out and got 2 more bottles. We didn't have the heart to let them know of a few mistakes (they had a Seder plate with 20 burned shankbones, 20 eggs, etc. for example). We all wrote to Carnival commending the staff. My 2 favorite memories are an Israeli couple finding the afikomen (dessert starter), and the nun (lady in the wheelchair) who attended to find out about it. If anyone is interested here is the cruise album. Feel free to skip to pictures 011B-011P (seder) and 012 S-T, Menu and food in the dining room.

    PASSOVER BY CARNIVAL

So great! This is also what my friends experienced last yr on Magic.

  6. I can tell you how it was for us with Christopher. The driver stuck to us like glue. He even sat down at the same table with us at a restaurant. I really didn't know what to do, so I went ahead and paid for his $18 lunch. To top it off, when we first started out it was raining and he asked me for $10 for a bad wiper blade. The car door handles would not open from the outside for us..We never had any of this with Victor. We only used Christopher because he said he could take us to Camp Bay , and he said because it rained we could not go. Boy did I learn a lesson..No mas Christopher para este gringo.

Sorry you didn't have luck. We had an amazing driver who took care of us like family. He didn't sit with us but was always around if we needed him. He kept the annoying vendors away. Showed my kids cool things and even bought them a coconut to try. Before we left the beach he even went out to the car and cooled it off while we changed.

My Mom and MIL on 2 separate trips also received amazing service and speak highly of them.

So yes I do think they are amazing. They have made our visits bucket list fun. I think you can have a bad experience with any co and it all depends on who you get stuck with for the day.

I will continue to suggest them just as others suggest other co. It is up to the consumer to decide who they want to go with and do their research.

We can all agree though to not stay by the ship. The island is to great to not see.
