I sure hope you can make it, as we have a 10:35 booked for our return flight!!
If you book it, keep an eye on the SouthWest website. Many times I have seen the website show certain flights sold out, and then reappear for sale. You can then change your flight for the flight you prefer. SouthWest does not charge a fee for changing. They are great that way.

Welcome to Princess. We did the Eastern Caribbean on the Regal Princess and loved it. She is a beautiful ship. Have a great time with your family.

We always stay at the Hampton Inn Airport North Cruiseport. They have a free shuttle to and from the airport. They are close to both the airport and port. There is a plaza across the street with a grocery store, liquor store, dollar store, laundromat ,several restaurants etc. They provide a complimentary breakfast, and a shuttle to the port is $6 each. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms have always been very clean and comfortable. We have stayed there about 10 times and never been disappointed.

We did a B2B on the Nieuw Amsterdam in Nov. 2014. We did not have to leave the ship. We had to meet in the theatre and our cards were scanned. We waited about 45 minutes to an hour, then were allowed to return to the rest of the ship. We took a book to read to pass the time.

Yes. It was always quite busy, but usually it doesn't take too long for the food to come out. They will give you a pager that will vibrate/flash when your food is ready.

I am booking a July cruise and have limited room choices. I am a bit of a nervous Nellie and usually book low and middle for the least motion. My choices are only: aft and deck 2 or mid- ship and deck 7. What are people's thoughts on the best choice and the least movement? Higher but mid or lower but aft? (I know it's a cruise, depends on the weather etc. but if more experienced cruisers have found one is better, it would relieve some anxiety on my part so I can enjoy my cruise more!)
It's the carnival sunshine, if that makes a difference.
Thanks!
I would take the mid-ship deck 7. If you think of the ship as a large teeter-totter the ends will move more up and down than the mid-ship area will. Also, you could experience more vibration being low in the aft.

My DD and DSIL stayed at the Copenhagen Admiral Hotel last summer for 4 days prior to a Baltic cruise. They loved the hotel, the service and the location.

Thanks. Very cool!

Stunning photographs!

The Emerald is a wonderful ship. We have sailed on her twice and would love to sail on her again.
-
That should be fine. You should try to be off the ship in one of the earlier time slots, but I don't think you have to do early walk-off. The port is a ten minute taxi ride from the port.

Thanks Daisyloo! I hadn't thought about looking at Keens. Would these be pretty lightweight also?
Yes they are quite lightweight. I have lots of trouble with my feet and have a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable and supportive. My Keens are both.

I love my Keen sandals. The ones I have are their Venice model. Totally waterproof, very comfortable and supportive. The toe cap protects your toes. You can go from walking and hiking to wading or swimming without missing a beat.

We have sailed twice on the Maasdam in interior cabins and no, there is no fridge in the cabin. We did arrange before hand to rent a fridge for the duration of the cruise and it was indeed $2.00 per day. It was worth it to us so that we would keep our beverages nice and cold.

I am really disappointed in tonight's results. There is no way that Noah should be in the finals. He has worked hard, overcome lots of obstacles, and he seems like a nice guy. But it's supposed to be about the best dancer!!
I think it's ridiculous that he is still in while a great dancer like Nastia goes home. Not fair.
Rant over.
I loved Julianne's dress and hair tonight.

Land's End. They have tons of choices, and tall suits are one of the options. They are good quality. Check them out.

Holland America's new ship coming out in 2016, the Koningsdam, will have singles cabins and also family cabins that will accommodate 5. It looks like the cruise lines are starting to realize that there is a market for non-traditional accommodations.

You can buy unlimited laundry for the entire cruise for $7.00 a day, so for a 1 week cruise it would cost $49.00 . They also have a set price to wash whatever you can manage to stuff in a laundry bag. Sorry, I forget what that was. You can also opt to pay per piece, but that was really expensive.

I second the water taxi as a great way to see Ft. Lauderdale. We really enjoyed it.
-
Which is why starting next April 22 it will change to a BF (unobstructed) balcony with higher pricing.
That's too bad. :(
-
Thanks. Great pics.

We were in L110 which is listed as an obstructed balcony. I would not consider it obstructed in any way. The only obstruction is if you are looking forward and down you see the bridge wing. It in no way lessened our enjoyment of the cabin. I would gladly book it again.

We are north of Toronto
Most flights I found from BUF are connecting flights that is a non starter for us ;)
We always book directly on Southwest's website. We have always gotten direct non-stop flights to Fll from Buf on Southwest. Usually I can get nonstop back as well. Twice we have had to connect and haven't had any issues. Again, I've only experienced Southwest, so can't speak regarding other airlines. For us it makes perfect sense to fly out of Buffalo.

Yes Terminal 1 ..fingers crossed it will not be chaos
In future I will stick with AC out of Miami :D
We are trying WS to Montreal in a few weeks will see if they are any better/worse than AC ;)

How far from the border are you? For us it's about the same distance to Toronto as it is to Buffalo. We used to fly out of Toronto untl we discovered how much easier and cheaper Buffalo is. The parking is cheaper, flights are cheaper and you go through immigration as you enter the states, so the flight is then a domestic flight. The first time we flew out of Buffalo it was $200 lower each than what we priced out for Toronto. That's $800 less for the 4 of us, which makes a huge difference. Our airline of choice has been Southwest and we have been very pleased with them. 2 free checked bags is only one of the reasons.
Help find this Australian couple that was on the Regal Princess in late May 2015

That is really nice of you to go to this effort to try and return the photos. I hope you succeed. Good luck.
