  1. Very true! Having said that, we only take them ashore if we’re required to do so. Usually have our D/Ls with us though.
  2. It was on Deck 4 on Harmony when we sailed on her last month
  3. Well I finally received a response to my email. The two agents I spoke to on the telephone were both correct, there is no longer any NHS discount on the 28th December sailing. However, MSC has increased my Voyagers Club discount from 5% to 10% and given us €100 OBC! So it was definitely worth emailing them after all. Out of interest, does anyone know if we can cash out the OBC at Guest Services or is it a case of use it or lose it?
  4. I’ve never known room service to be available on the day of debarkation on any ship I’ve been on.
  5. We’ve just booked a cruise with MSC sailing on 28th December. They require a PCR test within 72 hours of departure at our own expense. Given that the 3 days prior to the 28th are Bank Holidays in the UK and even if I could locate somewhere to have the tests done, the labs processing the results are unlikely to be working. I have no clue how we are supposed to fulfil this requirement. As you say, isn’t planning fun these days! 🤦‍♀️
  6. Ignore that, Mick’s just reminded me that we needed a PCR test for our Anthem cruise earlier this month. RCL paid for it though and didn’t require a test at the port. All this is sending me crazy!😜
  7. Even if they would allow us to get tested on Xmas Eve, I’d be worried that the results wouldn’t be back in time given the non-working days between the 24th and the 28th. I think I’ll do as you suggest Suzanne and email MSC for our options. Perhaps they’ll waive this requirement for my sailing and just rely on testing at the port (like RCL do) if enough pax contact them, haha.
  8. Xmas Eve would be too early wouldn’t it? We don’t sail until the 28th so it wouldn’t be within the 72 hour timeframe.
  9. Got off Anthem 9 days ago. Yep total rust bucket, awful ship, needs scrapping! 🤣🤣🤣
  10. We’ve got 12:00 this time, wouldn’t have minded 11:00 as we haven’t got such a long drive as you. I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn’t take you as long as it did on your return journey after our cruise. Ship’s departure time is late isn’t it? I don’t think I’ve ever sailed so late as 8pm before. I’m really worried now about how we’re going to get this PCR test done. Mick’s said not to stress about it at this point (easy for him to say! 🙄) as everyone on our sailing will be in the same boat, excuse the pun, and MSC will have to sort something out. Yeah right! I’ve just started a Roll Call as there wasn’t one, hopefully other pax will share what they’re arranging.
  11. DH has just reminded me of the date we’re sailing. Not sure how we’re supposed to organise a PCR test on Christmas Day or Boxing Day! 🤷‍♀️. Even if I wanted to risk leaving it until the 27th and could find somewhere that was doing them (unlikely as it’s a Bank Holiday), we are committed to a family event all day.
  12. Oh dear, I’m so embarrassed 🙈. Where it say “Measures To Embark For Schengen Countries”, I interpreted to mean sailing TO. Julie, you are correct of course. Apologies for possibly misleading anyone, I think it was just wishful thinking on my behalf!
  13. I’ve just been looking at it again lol. I’ve taken screenshots of the relevant sections of the Travel Requirements For Northern Europe which is a bit different than what you’ve quoted:-
  14. If your TA is correct then the wording on MSC’s website is very misleading. And why doesn’t that surprise me?? 😁. Think I’ll wait to see what the first cruisers report back.
  15. I’ve just had a quick look at MSC’s travel requirements for Northern Europe on their website. The way I read it is that a pre-cruise test is only required for kids over 2 and below 12. Over 12’s just need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated and get tested at the port. I may be reading it incorrectly though. Have these cruises started yet or not due to until next month? It would be good if someone who has already been or is about to go on one, could confirm exactly what is required.
