We booked through a TA as well, so that’s immaterial.

Hi! We will be sailing on the MSC Meraviglia in a few months departing from Civitavecchia. We are very interested in attending the Papal Angelus in St Peter’s Square which is scheduled for 12pm on our embarkation day. Our ship is scheduled to depart at 7pm.
Has anybody attended the Angelus? What time do you recommend arriving at St Peter’s Square? How long does it take? More importantly, What’s the latest you’d depart Rome on embarkation day?
As much as I’d love to attend the Angelus, I don’t want to risk missing our ship! Thanks for any input that you may provide

We did a land vacation to Rome this past month and attended the Angelus on a a Wednesday. It was was holiday as well (August 15) so it was busier.
We got there about an hour before. You will have to go through metal detectors.
It started promptly at noon and he spoke for a little over ten minutes!
It was a definite highlight of our trip!

Download the app Mytaxi. We used it a couple time and it was very reasonably priced.
We took the busses and also the metro everywhere. We did not have any issues with pickpockets, and we always went through Termini. We took the busses at different time of day as well, same for the Metro.
Just be aware of your surroundings, keep your hand on your purse. And keep aware of your wallet and phone if they are in your pocket (men).
I honestly was so scared by all I read and truthfully I thInk Paris was rougher. ( we have been there three times this past year). But again just be aware! And have fun!

We just got back from our trip to Rome , we did a night in Sorrento through Naples.
Thought this might help others! Train was easy to use and fast!

Does anyone know how it works on the other end of things?
If I buy an Orange sim card, I then have a European number. When I call my mom (who will be watching my kids in the U.S.) is she going to incur international fees are whatnot on her phone?
I just want to be prepared to reimburse her for any fees incurred for watching our kids!
No, she will not have any charges or fees, it would be like a regular call for her!
If she was to call you then yes she would have fees.

NCL is really generous about giving perks to those that set up the meet and greets, which is awesome.
I’ve done it three times, didn’t get anything extra the first time, the two other times I was in the Haven so would not know if I did.
But doing it for that is not the reason , it is fun to get to know others before and it is fun running into everyone onboard.
I do invites and run around the ship the day we get on board for those who have shared a room number .

We are cruising in September and will be in Sorrento, Italy for a week prior and Paris, France for 6 days post cruise. The cruise stops are Italy, France and Spain.
Last time I was in Rome we were able to buy a local Sim card which served us for all of Italy for about 30 Euros. We purchased it in downtown Rome from a place recommended to me here on CC.
My questions are these:
Does anyone know if there is an option that will work both in Italy and France (and how to get it either in Sorrento or at the airport when we change planes in FCO). We would no have time to go through immigration and then security at FCO to get it so it would have to be in the transfer area.
Failing that, does anyone have experience purchasing a good, reasonable plan in Italy (I will ask in the France boards about France).
I have Verizon and the charge is usually $10 per day overseas which can really add up so want to check for a cheaper option if available.

Insidr Paris is a great company that rents cells, we use it all the time in Paris, you can have up to 6 item I think hotspot on their phone.
It is great also having a phone a friend for Amy questions. We have then it to Amsterdam as well.. you can pick it up at cdg or have it sent to you... highly recommend them if you are going to Paris .

I really liked the Turkey and the sides were good. My husband didn’t like the brisket too much, but said he would get the turkey next time as well.
The chili and chips were good as well .
The Banana pudding though... it was amazing!

With the Haven sun deck we did not miss much with the balcony, we love the separate bedroom and living room .
We had and aft on the Getaway and liked it , but it was a hike to the Haven. But the balcony was great , we didn’t use it enough.
I would take the forward one again in a heartbeat! Also the aft, who am I kidding any Haven is good!!! [emoji23][emoji23]

Hello out there!! I'm sailing on the Escape this summer and am considering upgrading my balcony cabin to either a forward facing suite or the courtyard suite. I've never been in the Haven and would love this opportunity. Do you have a preference between the two and if so' date=' why? I can't figure out, other than size, which is "better."

For anyone who has studied this new beauty of a ship's opinion, if I booked a guarantee balcony cabin what's the worst I could get? In past ships there could be obstruction but I dont see this while looking at the exterior photos of the ship.
No balconies will have obstructions, so that would not be an issue!
Only bad rooms I could see would be with a loud area above .

Funny!!! I met Wyland last night at Epcot and told him how great the Bliss looks and about his trip to Germany , he mentioned how they announced another new ship, the Encore and how they should let him paint it for an Encore !

Does anyone have any information on the Bliss sailing leaving NY on May 4th 2018? I know this is some sort of promotional sailing. Was hoping there were ways to possibly book this sailing.
Only way to get on those cruises is to be invited or listen to the radio station to win a spot for the NYC short cruise!

As soon as you get on board and the casino opens talk to the Casino host, she or he can help set it up for you .
You can let her know when and she will ask which machine as well you want to do it on. We have always done it on the Wheel of Fortune.
