  1. This is sad for those who look forward to the lobster on first formal night. I am one of those people who love having it. I usually book longer cruises, so I'm happy it will still be offered on my sailings. If it ever stops, I'll have to find something else I enjoy on the menu, or eat in the steakhouse or have a Guy's Burger for dinner on formal night. I love lobster, but I love cruising more. :)

  2. deetrayn- where did you have to go to pick up your bottles on departure day?

    Thanks!

I don't know, I haven't gone on my cruise yet. I will return from my cruises on Oct 4 and will give an update on where the booze was picked up. I'm sure my brother or others in my traveling group will be going there to pick some up.

I am doing luggage express, so my bottles will be given to me the night before.

  3. I always buy 3-4 bottles and picking up the bottles the morning "of" was new to me. I just came off the Victory 2 days ago. I brought bottles on my excursion and I brought bottles on the ship. I knew ahead of time I needed the extra space so I packed light and put my stuff in a bigger suitcase and I brought my scale (Walmart) with me.

The morning of I picked up my boxed bottles and my wrapped bottles from my excursions, headed down to luggage claim, found a spot away from the foot traffic, inserted the bag with 3 bottles in the middle of the suitcase, covered it with my towel and hand carried the box out (2 bottles). When we got to the airport, I had plenty of time and space to rearrange and weigh my luggage.

    Happy sailing!

Ok, sounds good. I guess it won't be as bad as I thought. Thanks for the feedback.

  4. Thank you so much Dee! :)

If we cruise as scheduled, yes, I'll be doing another review. I wasn't at first since we did the same itinerary on Valor and did that review and then we were on Liberty in April 2014 and I did a review that time. Same ship/same itinerary, I didn't want to bore everyone with same ole, same ole. We do have different things planned though, so even though the same islands and a ship we've been on, it will be different. Thank you for asking. :)

I just noticed you're sailing on the Breeze on the same day, 9/20! We've seen Breeze but never on her. From reviews by others she definitely is a beautiful ship. I hope you have a wonderful cruise and great weather.

Thank you! I'll be looking forward to your review. And yes, I will be on the Breeze soon. I'm packed and ready to go. Lol

  5. Deetrayn,

I just now saw that!!! :D I'm just hoping that someone didn't hijack John's "Social Network" page. That is great news for us!!! A bunch of us have a back up plan in place, just in case and we'll tentatively keep those plans just in case there are any further issues. We have until 9/17 to cancel w/out penalty.

I'm just so happy right now I don't know what to do...maybe think about packing for a cruise. :D

I hope everything works out and schedule is back to normal. Have a great cruise. I guess we'll be getting another one of your awesome reviews soon? If so, I'll be looking forward to it. :):):)

  6. There is an inconvience factor here from having to get it in a lounge and than repack your stuff. People will do as they wish but would hope enough stop buying liquor that they will reconsider this policy.

I agree! I prefer to pack my boxes deep into the suitcase, surrounded by everything else instead of putting in on top. I'm going to pay the fee for luggage express so I can pack my suitcase the way I like the night before.

It may be a quick process, but the last thing I want to do on debarkation morning is have an additional line to get into. I'm already bummed about leaving, don't need to add to it. Lol

  7. I've read another post where the alcohol was to be picked up the last AM.

Of course, if you're flying, your luggage has already been taken off the ship unless you do self-debarkation. I can just see the people picking up suitcase before going through customs, laying down & opening up suitcase to fit the bottles in said suitcase.

For this reason, I doubt if I will purchase any alcohol on the ship or in ports. Too much trouble.

That is what I'm afraid of. I could see this being a nightmare. I'm going to give luggage express a try.

  8. I got the below info from Carnival's website. The "No Visitor" policy is also for ports of call. If I were you, I would make plans to meet off the ship, and spend the day together in Civiteveccia.

    https://help.carnival.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1384

Carnival has a "No Visitor" policy for the entire fleet. This applies to all ports of embarkation and ports of call. Guests sailing on our cruises will not be permitted to have visitors on board to see them off. This policy was implemented to improve our overall security program and enhance the on board experience for our guests during embarkation day.

The following exception applies to this policy:

    • Wedding Guests attending a wedding ceremony/reception or visitors attending any type of party/reception onboard that has been previously arranged by the Bon Voyage/Wedding Services Department, will follow the policies stated by this Department.

  9. Getting ready to get on Conquest in November (I know it's 79 days but I really need to dream already). Anyone recently on Conquest know who's bartending at Alchemy? And does anyone who is as obsessed as I am with the Alchemy Bar know where Gabriel and Raymond are? They were both on Pride in May but have both since left.

Gabriel is an awesome mixologist!! I met him last year on the Sunshine, and we're FB friends. As of last week, he was in Hawaii on vacation with his girlfriend. Someone recently posted on his wall asking which ship he is going to next, but he has not responded yet.

  10. will be in la Romona on the Breeze and looking for a Beach

We did the Saona island tour last time but want to try something different another beach .

Really dont want to spend $200 for 2 people for a couple hours and dont want to stay on ship

I will be on the same sailing as you. Our group is going to the Dreams Resort in La Romana. I'm originally from S. Jersey. :)

  11. Thanks, I know what it is, I'm trying to figure out if there's an easier way to find one besides filtering ship by ship, month by month on the Carnival site. Is there another site that has already done all of the leg work?

I cruise with a group of family members and cruise friends that we have met on prior sailings, most of whom cannot take 2 weeks off at once to do a B2B. The way I choose is after our group has chosen the cruise we're going to do, I look at the sailing prior to that one to see if I'd want to do it.

I would not have as much fun if I stayed behind to do a B2B after my traveling crew has left for home, so I pick the week before so we can all go home together.

  12. I'm excited to be going on a B2B on the Breeze!!! This will be my first time experiencing this on a Carnival ship. My first B2B was on RCCL Jewel of the Seas, and I enjoyed being on a cruise for 14 days!!

The first leg of my trip, it will be a friend and I on the Breeze 6-day, going to Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman and Cozumel.

The second leg, my friend will go home, but I will be joined by my mom, other family members, and several cruise friends that travel with us every year. We're doing the Breeze 8-day cruise to Grand Turk, Dominican Rep, Curacao and Aruba. This was actually my original vacation plan, but I had an opportunity to add to my vacation, so I booked the sailing prior to this one.

    I can't wait!!!:D:D:D
