  1. I just read RCL now is charging $15 per bottle wine corkage fee for wine that is brought on board on embarkment day. How does that work? They will charge if you bring to the dining room or any public area but you can enjoy it in your own room without such a charge?

Just checked RCCL official site and they have not as yet changed to NO CORKAGE fee for the 2 bottles of wine you are allowed to bring on board free per stateroom.

  3. I didn't say Royal could not make a profit, I said they could make more profit elsewhere. If Royal had 50 ships, I'd bet they would have some ships based in California. However, with the current number of ships they have, why shouldn't they put the ships where they make the most money?

Thought part of the issue was political/criminal unrest in ports they used to visit on the western Mexican routes.

  4. Going to be on Anthem. If booking a GTY SJS catagory is a Family Junior Balcony or a Junior Balcony Suite considered an upgrade to RCI...or will it be into the GS category:confused:

Usually an upgrade is the next category which would be a gs. We had a boardwalk and the next for that was a JS not an outside ov with balcony. Go figure[emoji12][emoji12]

  5. I have used certificates a few times. Have had TA apply them to future booked cruise with no issues. However, they were used within the dates listed. The RCCL help desk should be able to tell you the rules governing use date. They can also tell you when the certificate will be applied date. Our ta called RCCL and had them applied to our cruise with no problem.

  6. Does anyone know why this booking is closed? Has a group chartered the Navigator for this Feb. 10 - 15, 2019 cruise?

This 2019 sailing out of Miami was just announced about two months ago (Mar. 2017). But now, it says "sold out". :(

Does anyone know what's going on?

    Thanks for your help,

    Suzy B

Could be chartered and that can happen at any time.

  7. We have 3 cabins on Adventure of the Seas which appear to be over the main dining room on deck 5. Just wondering if that's where the dining room breakfast is served and if so, how early noise will begin. I hope someone can answer.

Breakfast and lunch always served on lower dining level 3

  8. Two years ago we had an Over the Water Cabana at Labadee. We were just in a regular ocean view balcony.

Are you guys all saying that for my August 2018 sailing, I may have a very slim chance of getting a cabana since they now all go to concierge guests (just in an ocean view balcony)? If this is the case, are there any cabanas that I can possibly get? I really wanted another over the water (and check a couple of times a day if it opened for me to book) but although I see excursions for Labadee, I do not see cabanas.

    Thank you all so much!

Depends on the ship. Star class get advanced choice. But small ships may not have those classes filling them up. I wouldn't plan on one though.

  9. We are doing b2b's on Oasis in an OS cabin so we have an option to book an over the water cabana at Barefoot Beach. My questions;

    - Since Star Class guest apparently have first choice is there a chance a Sky Class guest can get an over the water cabana? Not sure I would spend the money for any of the others.

    - Can anyone help me find a map of cabana locations and photos?

    - Can I book the cabana for both cruises at the same time?

    - How far is walk from where you get off ship to Barefoot Beach/Cabanas?

    - Should we book them online or via the Concierge.

    Appreciate it!

To answer a specific question, there is a golf cart shuttle for cabana beach guests. Through the entrance and 100 feet out on right side when heading to beaches.

  10. We are retired (fit) couple from Down Under arriving Cape Liberty 7 September on the Vision of the Seas.

Have booked a hotel in Chinatown for 3 nights. However struggling on web to find transport options other than New York Taxis.

We will have two large suitcases to lug about so would prefer a shuttle service or a private car.

Looking for assistance in locating a reliable shuttle service or private car.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Get a quote drum Uber. I used them in the Bayonne area to and from. Cruise port and they were the cheapest.

  11. Just a caveat on many comments. Choice Air guarantees to get you to ship. Had some friends that had flight problems and missed first day sailing from Barcelona but arrived next day in Palma to continue cruise. That was a big plus for them by choosing Choice Air.

  12. As Bob mentions, Air2Sea really only makes sense for one way international fares.

My daughter and granddaughter flew to fll on choice air and the return flight on American got cancelled. Without choice the options were not pretty but choice took only 10 minutes to rebook on another airline for for free. So in this case they covered the domestic flight issue rather nicely.

  13. I have been looking to see if prices on higher categories were any better in cost as we get closer to our sail date. On Monday there were still some rooms available in many of the room categories. Yesterday and Today all show as waitlist. Our sailing is 2 June 2017 on the Navigator / Baltic itinerary.

    Is this normal?

RCCL does this from time to time when it gets closer to sailing . Wait a bit available cabins may open up.

  14. The description says 2 floating mats and towels. It does not say how many towels are provided - anyone who rented a bungalow please tell how many towels - do you leave them at bungalow when going back to ship - or take back to ship. I was just wondering since there is a $25 fee if towels not returned. Thanks for any information - appreciate it!

The towels are there for however many are in the bungalow and there are extras if you need them. They are left there and they are not listed on your seapass cards. Enjoy

  15. Pros or cons to Oceanview Balcony on Oasis Deck 12 aft? Sailed Oasis class multiple times but always decks 6-9. Would appreciate any feedback. Thank you:)

One advantage on deck 12 is less salt spray so cleaner balcony, closer to pool and windjammer.

  16. Hey everyone - we're cruising in the Indie (Indy?) in November. It's our first time on RC. (We've done Princess & Norwegian.) I have some questions, please.

Is there smoking in the casino?

How's the drink package? We like both Princess & Norwegian's packages.

I've been reading some reviews and there seems to be a general consensus that the MDR food is not excellent. Any thoughts on this?

We're staying on the bulge - are these rooms shaped weirdly? Any pros or cons to these rooms?

Can a 19 year old drink while in International waters?

On one review I read, the writer said, "It took until day 5 before we learned that we could ignore the "Diamond and above only" sign outside King Lear and get the full table service with poached egg option. " Is this true? Are there other secrets that I should be aware of?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

First off, NO a 19 can't drink even in international waters, since the ship's policy is 21.

There is smoking in casino and on pool deck, one side only.

Cabins on bulge have a little bigger balconies but room is not wiered.

  17. Hi all,

We're going on our 1st cruise with RC, 2nd cruise period, and the 1st was nearly 10 yrs ago when we actually DID get a packet of stuff in the mail.

I've read about printing our tags, set sail pass, finding our "be at the dock at this time" info, etc. but....I cannot find this info on our reservation/MyCruise page, at all.

When I find the area for luggage tags, it says since we are "now within 13 days of sailing, they are no longer available to print" and we need to find them/get them at the dock.

When I find the area for documents, it says not yet available....yet we leave on Sunday, and I still don't know our "assigned" time to be at the dock/pier (sailing on Liberty, out of Galveston), other than "no later than 90 mins prior to sailing" or whatever the standard is.

Will we get an email with this info? I did see where we could "check in" on-line, and DH did that (filled out some kind of form including electronic signatures for all of us), is that what's in place of documents these days? Or will we actually get documents/link to print documents sometime in the next few days??

Do I need to call on this? Or am I mixing up old & new information and this is how things are these days and we'll be fine?

The porter at the dock where you drop your bags will put luggage tags on your bags. Your check in on line forms you should have filled out allows you to print your set sail pass. If you have done this and have pass in hand show up at the dock after 10:30 am on day of sailing.

Now, if you want luggage tags, on your RCL web site where you log in, there is a header above your reservation toward the right that lists cruise documents. If you click on this it should bring up the whole docs and toward the last few pages should be your luggage tags. If all else fails call C&A and ask them[emoji12][emoji12]
