  1. Have you gotten an email about your reservation? I am not going to stress about it, I will just check on it, when I get onboard. It makes my mouth water thinking about it!

Got it yesterday. I think you'll get one. :)

  2. things I have bought, brought, and never used on board;

a swim suit. I never go in the pools on a ship, but always think that I might want to, so bring one, and never do it.

Shoes, I always bring too many. dressy sandals, walking sandals, track shoes, heels for formal night, slippers for in the cabin. Usually only end up wearing the walking sandals and the dressy sandals for elegant night. At least two pairs of shoes dont get worn.

Books. I always bring at least one book that I dont end up reading, because Im too busy having fun at other things.:)

oh yes...forgot this one....too many cruise elegant clothes. Really only need elegant clothes now for two evenings. I have still not learned that I dont need all that dressy stuff, so am hoping to remember to bring less of that next time.

I always bring two bathing suits. I never wear them. I've on occassion gone in the hot tub where my husband STAYS, but usually I read while he does that. I even want to get in that clear blue water out there, but figure that my totally pale skin would probably freak people out. :D

The over door shoe holder. There was plenty of storage space for our junk, even when we had four people in our cabin.

I never understood the need for so much space. I think there is plenty of space between the drawers, under the bed, the cabinet, the closet, my bags, and the bathroom. I must not be high maintenance. My husband, of course would probably disagree. :p

  3. Beach - Thanks for the surf and turf recommendation. I can't decide between that or a ribeye. I guess I'll have to check out of people's plates as they come out. :D

We just received out confirmation! Yay!

  4. Recent posts/reviews have said that you can get more than one appertizer. You would pay a premium for a second entree. You would also have to hauled out as a freight if you ate that much, though!

From looking at the menu and some pics, it looks like some of the steaks are HUGE. I can't image eating everything. Starter, salad, entree, and dessert.

I can't wait to try though.

Does anyone know how big the lobster tail is that's on the menu? Bigger than the MDR ones I hope. ;)

I saw one in another thread. So many others recommended this little gem... Belkin 3-Outlet Surge Protector with USB Charger

it has 3 plugs and 2 USB ports... I never cruise without this! It is sooo compact and it is grounded. I have never had this confiscated. You can also find this on Amazon or at Walmart. I purchased mine from Home Depot for less than $12.

Wow. I like that! I'm gonna grab one this weekend. :)

We've taken a whole power strip before (can you believe it?!) and no one said anything. It was total overkill. I hate overpacking. We've just started switching out using the outlets to make it easy. We do have a lot of electronics though, so this looks perfect.

Trying to figure out whether to put it in my carry-on or pack it.

  6. I too made our reservation a couple of days ago and have yet to receive a confirmation yet.

If its anything like the last time we cruised in 2012. I made reservations in advance and received a personalized confirmation email about a week later. So id expect we may be getting it soon.

It will probable arrive after we leave mid next week.

    Thanks! :D

  7.

This is good news since my husband and I are booked in 2256 and we're trying to get my parents to book room 2281 :)

I found it odd that the amount of cove balconies available when I booked were so limited. It only gave me the option of mid-ship, and out of the mid-ship area there were maybe 10 rooms I could select from.

We called and made our cabin selection on the phone. That way we didn't even have to worry about it. I hope they get 2281. If they do I think they'll really enjoy it. :)

  8. We just had Cabin 2338 on the Magic (which I think is just like the Dream) in January. We were right by the center elevators. We loved our room. It was quiet. Every once in a while we heard noise above us at night - but it was never past about 11:30 at night, which is when we were coming in from a show many nights. Being by the center elevators was very convenient. We just had to walk up one floor to go to dinner at night. Or, we walked left or right to catch the front or rear elevators to go to Lido, or to the theater.

Over all - our room was very peaceful. Sometimes during the day I would go down to our balcony and just sit and enjoy the peace & quiet, and get away from the hustle & bustle of the busy decks above us. You couldn't hear any noise from above, and it was really peaceful to sit and listen to the waves, and be that close to the water. I felt like I was the only one on the ship when I was sitting on my balcony. It was that quiet.

Also, since we were in the middle of the ship, we didn't get much movement, even on a couple of days when the seas were a little bit rocky.

I agree it totally feels like you're on the ship alone because it's SO quiet. :)

  9. Well, not sure if I'll get a reservation confirmation via email. I made the res a couple days ago, but nothing in my spam folder either. I know the site says you may or may not get one, but I'd feel better if I knew for sure we got that date/time.

  10. We're bringing our Tervis too. We have two of the 24 oz ones. They're great.

I like them because they fit in car cup holders, they don't sweat, and keep both hot things hot, and cold things cold. (you can nuke it and put it in the DW). I use it for my tea during the day, and then put my hot chocolate in there at night.

I do agree that we always use their cups to get drinks from the fountain and THEN pour them into our own cups. We may have to do it a couple times, but easy to fill up and hopefully LESS icky germs. ;)

  11. I know, right?! My mom and I keep sending messages to each other every day with the new day count. It's going to be a very long year and a half. LOL

Sometimes I think the planning is the best part though. My husband laughs at me because the day we get in the car for the drive to PC I start the trip by saying.... well, this is the beginning of the end of our cruise. LOL

It will be so great when you get down to that 30 day point though, won't it? That is the date it feels "real" to me.

Hope you guys have a great COUPLE of cruises. :D

  12. We really enjoy the coves. We had 2281 on our last Dream cruise and are going to be in it again in about a week and a half.

I liked ours because it's more forward on the ship. You can hear the waves at night if you leave your door open (i'm not recommending it, as we're not supposed to ;)) Some here suggested that we bring a bungy type thing to hold the door open. Watching the waves crash against the front so close to the water is great! Sea spray! :D

We don't mind being under the lifeboats. They're still really far up above us. We still got sun during the day and it was more comfortable to spend a lot of time reading out there without the direct sun and heat.

I hope you get one! You'll love it. :)

  13. with a dressy shirt and shoes/sandals, why not there or in the MDR?;) I bring a couple of cocktail dresses and rest of cruise is pair of dressy black capris with different blinged out tops. Have yet to feel under-dressed or out of place.

That makes me feel better keisha. I usually wear dressy shirts, so I'll probably be okay. I have yet to don a blinged out shirt though. LOL ;) Don't think I could pull it off. :D

  14. Well, I went ahead and booked through our account. It just asks when you want to go, but doesn't tell you whether it's available or not. I guess you just find out when you check in at the terminal?

We're going to try for the first night as soon as they open. We never go do much the first night anyway, so we can just relax. :)

Anyone want our bottle of wine? LOL We don't really drink wine. Now if we were talking Champagne, I'm all in. ;)

Thanks for all the information guys. :D

  15. That's a good question! We're going the first night and would like to know also. But am guessing with FTTF, we'd get it in time.

We're FTTF too, but I was just wondering.... ;) We have to dress up ALL week long, and I just hate to do it on vacation. We usually only hit the MDR once because of it. :)
