  1. Another High-Jack...

I'm trying to decide whether to make reservations, but here's my question...

On the first night, the MDR is usually cruise casual because not everyone has their luggage at this time. We always have, but we've talked to a lot of people at dinner that didn't get their bags in time to change.

What is the dress code for that night?

    TIA :)

  2. It was a lot of fun! DD is 5 and she had no problems keeping up. There were a couple of things that she could even do (I don't want to give anything away). The fastest team finished in 1.5 hrs and we were just over 2 hrs. The last team was almost 2.5 hrs. Apparently the winners are usually at 2 hrs so our day was extremely competitive! At the end you get 2 drink tickets and some chips and salsa. The drink tickets can be used for beer or soft drinks, or use both for a margarita!

That's great to hear. I can't wait! My poor husband will definitely bear the brunt of my wrath during the race. ;)

  3. I'm really jealous of all of you that have been able to take two cruises at one time. :p

    I want to know though:

    Why?

Do You Have to Do the Same Ship?

    Same Cabin?

    What are the Benefits?

Discounts from Cruise Lines to Do It?

Clue me in. Seriously... share! :D TIA

  4. If you want zip lining... the BEST place, of course IMHO, is Xplor park in Playa del Carmen. You can get on the ferry from Cozumel to go there. It takes about 30-40 minutes on the ferry each way. Not too far from downtown PDC.

That place is AMAZING! We went while on a land based trip from Cancun. They have cave canoeing, ATVs through the "jungle/caves,"

and zip lining. The zip line part has two circuits. Both are pretty equal. One of them zips you under a waterfall on the way down. The towers that you have to walk up are very steep. It's a LONG way up to most of them.

The best part is the cave paddling to me. You sit in the these little canoe-type (two-person) things and they give you hand paddles. You have to navigate through caves. You can also swim through one of the caves on another section through a river type thing. Water shoes are pretty much a necessity.

It's a very safe park. They have a fitting area for harnesses on the ziplines and double safety clips. They give you sport helmets that are are numbered and contain GPS type chips. There are a lot of places as you swim through, etc. that the system takes pictures of you as you go. All you have to do when you get home is type in your helmet code (you can also view them while you're there.) It's SOOOO cool.

They have beautiful grounds that have resting areas, trails, smoothie/coffee bars and a huge buffet. (buffet, helmets, life vests, and lockers are all included. The food is nothing to write home about of course. It's a huge covered place though.

Actually, you just need to go to their website to see everything. It's awesome. It's hands-down the BEST excursion we've ever done. I noticed that you can book it through Carnival now too. I wouldn't do it on my own. It's a whole park and you could spend all day there. I wouldn't want to get left behind doing it without a Carnival excursion. I think Carnival lists it as a 7 hour tour.

  5. The upgrades during the month long drydock for the Navigator look absolutely fantastic. Supposedly you'll get a taste of some of the new features that will be available on the Quantum, including the virtual balcony staterooms.

We had a great time on the Dream, but if I could experience the updated Navigator for about the same price as the Dream, I'd go with that.

I agree. Our cabin on the Explorer of the Seas (promenade) was super small, but we loved the amenities on that class. Have fun either way. btw - what a LONG drive.

  6. We have booked the same cabin for this upcoming cruise. We're thinking of it as our home on the seas! Plus, we already know how to get everywhere from our room!

We totally loved our cove balcony and have booked the same cabin for our 3/1 cruise on the same ship. We can't wait! I agree with you. We know exactly where to head as soon as we board. :D

  7. we are signed up to race in February.

Can you please tell me how long the race takes and if everyone waits for the last team to arrive or if you are free to leave... just worried about our DD getting bored.

You'll have to post how it went. We're going to be on the Dream the first week of March, and I really would like to try this. I'd love to hear about your experience.

    Have fun!

  8. Live in Florida... my ds college spring break is the first week of March;

grandkids go to middle school their is the week after...

So cruising during ds spring break...

OH. NO. I really hope we don't have a lot of college kids on the Dream the first week in March.

  9. As everyone has said, you can definitely get tap water from the fountains. Tastes fine. You could always bring a bunch of bottled water on board with you. Cheaper. ;)

I'm a sweet tea drinker. They only offer unsweetened tea, so I've learned to mix half lemonade and half unsweetened tea to survive. LOL

    Have fun! :D

  10. We were on the Fantasy last February. First seating. We saw a lot of tables that seemed to be just individual families (maybe 4 or 6), as well as huge tables for what looked like reunion size crowds. My husband and I were alone at a four top. I requested it.

If you don't want to share a table you can always make that request at the MDR as soon as you board.

It would seem that it would be pretty easy to get a table for 6, by yourselves. If that's what you want anyway. :D

    Have fun!

  11. We did an inside cabin on the Glory and it wasn't that bad. Just make sure you have the time since the only thing is you don't know when the sun comes up, but it was some of the best sleep ever!!! Have a great trip!!:D:D

So, so true! When we turned the lights off in our (one and only time) inside on the Sensation, it was pitch black. I could have slept all day too. The stubbed toes on the way to the bathroom in the dark were the downside. ;)

I will say that if I had to sail in an inside I'd put up with it on the Disney Fantasy or Dream. Those inside cabins are much larger and nicer. :)

  12. I liked the old show when it was on Magic, but once we went on the Fantasy and saw the new space I was blown away. Look for the little touches during the meal around the room (and on the floor). ;)

I will say though, that this is the most noise I've ever heard on a Disney ship. I'm included the pool area too. My husband and I just decided to look around and enjoy the shows because we couldn't hear a single thing the other said. The Crush show is okay, but I think I would like the old show instead. Nothing compares to the Animation (drawing) show though. Must do.

I wish our "drawing" night would have been scheduled differently though. We were there during Formal Night, Pirate Night (w/fireworks), AND Valentines Day. Wow! It's really hard to look like a Pirate on Formal Night.

  13. I personally would NEVER pay that much for such a thing. Wow! I've seen how much those people are paying in BBB on board though, so some people will book it no matter the price. Those little girls do seem to be in heaven though when they come out of that shop. :D

Please spend money though. I own stock. :o LOL
