The tap water and Windjammer water are fine. Probably more pure than bottled water.

Grandeur has much more variety in the lengths of her cruises, and the itineraries. Nice ship.

There is no reason to buy a drink package if you are not a drinker. You can still purchase individual drinks if and when you want them.

Tap water, and water from the dispensers in buffet, is fine. You could take your own water bottles if you prefer that to glasses. If filling them in the buffet, just fill a glass first, then pour it into your bottle. If the tap water in your cabin is not cold enough, ask to have your ice bucket filled.

IMO, not a good idea. What if she ends up having to miss additional classes due to getting the flu, a family member experiencing a crisis, etc. University should be a time to learn to discipline oneself to put classwork first.

Julianne
Anyone else think that the Super Eyebrow thing has gone beyond attractive? I've always liked dark brows on blonds, and I think Julianne is beautiful, but I can't figure out the appeal of the extreme and fake-looking eyebrows I see on tv now. ???

Date of birth has been changed a number of times. Originally 1941, then 1947 or 1949 and then 1951. If you look at what she was doing at different ages the 1951 date really does not seem possible. Evidently she used that (1951) when she became a US citizen and it stuck.
Interesting! Once again, it makes sense to not believe everything we see on the internet.

In the ports on our three cruises in the Med, in late April/early May, I wore only long slacks, with tops ranging from one jersey, to jersey, sweater and raincoat layered together. Each time, temps ranged from sunny and warm to cold and wet.

We have done Alaska and Canada/New England cruises in cold and wet weather, and we still spent all our waking hours outdoors, looking at the scenery or just enjoying the sea. Of course, we were bundled up in long pants, sweaters, jackets. Personally, I prefer that to hot weather and shorts; it depends what you want on a cruise.

Wish I had some of Charo's energy. She is 76 years old.
66. Born in 1951.

Depart Baltimore, sail transatlantic to anywhere, visit a few ports there, and sail back to Baltimore.
No interest in the Caribbean, although sometimes that's the only way to take a cruise.

Summit and Enchantment are docked together in Nassau today. They appear to be the same height. Both are 12 decks high.
Wouldn't it be great to have a Celebrity Millennium class ship sailing from Baltimore? RCI/X, please consider this!

Are you walkers? We have enjoyed both cities just walking on our own.
In Halifax you will be docked right at the boardwalk, with lots of interesting waterfront attractions. Or you can walk up the hill, to a very old cemetery, and the Citadel.
St. John is a nice town, with a city market, park, varied neighborhoods.
-
And for those who park at the port, Baltimore does a great job clearing the parking lots, on departure day and on day of return.

Our TA always makes our table request when we book the cruise.

On our last cruise, after an occasional flushing non-response, DH discovered that if we pressed the lid down against the seat, then pressed the flush button, it worked.
Pushing the button repeatedly does not help.

We much prefer OV. We do spend leisure time in our cabin, and enjoy just sitting by the window, feeling close to the sea. We even had a cabin once with a deep windowsill, where I sat for many hours.
We were upgraded to a balcony on an Alaska cruise, and ended up only using it for a hour or two during the entire 10 days. The views from the upper decks were so enjoyable that the balcony felt very limited. And the four "walls" of the balcony made our cabin feel dark all the time.
We've passed up balcony cabins even when they were significantly cheaper than OV.

Thanks, everyone.

Missing Coco Cay is not unusual at all. We have been scheduled to go there at least seven times; made it once.
Personally, we loved Freeport because we enjoyed seeing all the ships. Second only to a Panama Canal cruise for seeing sea commerce in action. And the water is fabulously beautiful.

We take photocopies of our passports, "just in case". Just ship card, drivers license, sunglasses, a few dollars.

I know this isn't strictly a cruise attire question, but I'm guessing that maybe some of you are familiar with fashions other than cruise wear! My friend is beginning to look for a dress for her son's formal wedding next September. The mother of the bride is wearing a long, pale pink dress with some beading on the bodice. Ideas?

I am a SAHM, I love dressing up on the ship! It's my only chance all year to wear a fancy dress and get all fancied up.
Stitchman your comment cracked me up but I think it needs subtitles for the non-English!
SAHM? I want to know if I am one, too. I do love dressing up aboard a ship.

Can you change your booking to early (5:30, probably) dining room seating rather than MTD? Then you will be assigned a table together, and you just go to the same table at that time every night. Easy and predictable; no reservations needed.
On the first night, just show up at the dining room door with your seapass card. They will show you to your table. It will be yours, at that time, for the rest of the cruise.
How many people will be cruising with you? You can request a table just for you, or a bigger one to be shared with others.
If you are not able to change your reservation before you sail, you can go to the dining room the day you board, and ask if they can do so.

I seem to recall that closed-toe shoes were required for the galley tour, and maybe the backstage tour.
