  1. Would be nice is Carnival had a ship stationed in NYC year-round for 10 days cruises to the Caribbean and 7 days cruised to Bermuda. You'd get more Canadians and folks from the NE cruising if they did so, because we could drive to the port and avoid the expense of flights. Less flights = more cruise money!

    .

umm, you do know that nyc is in the north, right?

  2. seriously...free drinks/happy hours? only for the platinum/diamond party....we always order before boarding and do not spend as much on the "cheers" package as another cruise...its expensive compared to purchasing at home, but it is in the cabin when we get there and away we go!

  3. I see no reason to tell the world where I am going and when...I place my cruise luggage tags in plastic holders after I reach my port, before I hand them to the porters; on return, I remove the debarkation ones before reaching to train station/bus station/airport

  4. Wow I have never saw this before and I usually bring back more than the allotted 1 liter of alcohol...I wonder is carnival purposely trying to stop people from buy alcohol from their shops?.... First they change the pickup process now this!

they probably have to do it because so many people think they are special and don't have to follow the rules...customs is not a joke

  5. We lucked into the owners suite....Carnival is the Bernie Sanders of cruise lines. Pay 150 or 5000 you get the same treatment....Learn from NCL, Princess, Holland and Royal. We had to get faster to the fun to get priority tender at one port. Believe it or not.

imho: yawn...do your homework so you aren't "surprised"...I don't cruise the other lines because I know what to and what not to expect...the only thing a suite would give is more space, no big deal to us...when we want to be "pampered" and more "perks", we go where those things are offered; I am soo sick of you people who want "priority" tendering...get in line, you are NOT special

  6. I would not bother with a smoke-free, kid-free cruise...I love to cruise to meet and watch all types of people; if I had all those problems with smokers and kids, I would stay home orm find a vacation that "catered" to my specific needs and stop complaining about the cruiseline; drunk adults are a bigger problem and funnier, too!

  7. Escargot? Heck, every once in a while we pick up a can of them at Publix, and my girlfriend does a great job with them. It's not rocket science!

If you need to go on a cruise ship for Escargot, oh boy! Instead, go to your local supermarket, buy them, and look up a preparation on Google. Of course you might want the dishes to serve them in, which, of course my Linda has! :D

Of course there are different preparations that do not require this type of dish.

Now a foie gras terrine with aspic... that's another story! Oooh, I love that, just give me enough toast points with it.

    NOT in my local supermarket

  8. We're sitting in the priority boarding area waiting to be called onboard. They told us that as of 11:00, there were still 600 people onboard. Not a good way to start a cruise.

And...is it really Priority Boarding when your lounge holds several hundred (300-500) people????

    seriously? aren't you "special", SMH

  9. You're welcome!

Yes, the horror stories about the buffet lines on Victory are true. We ate lunch there before we got off the ship for the Segway tour, and (I timed it) it took 5 minutes just to get to the plates. 15 minutes to get through the line. It has to do with the way the buffet is laid out with everything in a single line. It would be so much better if they would separate things into different stations. It doesn't help that people seem to forget what they want by the time they get to the food and just stand there while they make up their mind. :)

I actually thought the lines were slightly better this time than our last cruise on Victory, but maybe we just learned how to avoid them better. Also if you just want one item, I recommend nicely asking someone in the line if you could reach in and get it. Most people don't mind since they aren't moving anyway. :)

Seating isn't an issue. If you can't find a table on the main level, there are plenty more one deck up. Take the stairs behind the dessert area. A lot of people don't realize there is additional seating up there.

There were a lot of families with school age and teenage children on our cruise. Not many college age that I saw. The loudest drunks were the full grown adults. The kids really weren't a problem. I mainly noticed them the last night when they were roaming all over the ship is big packs.

I don't get it...its a cruise ship with thousands of guests, are you seriously complaining about buffet lines? geez...smh...patience is indeed a virtue and being respectful of people in line is just plain common sense...I will not rush anyone taking their time to decide what they want to eat...hopefully it will make for less waste

  10. I am not going to keep debating on whether prices are going up or not. I know that they are going up. Yes, the Dream and Vista class are going to be more expensive and I understand that because they are the bigger and newer ships. But even the cruises on the Fantasy and Conquest class have been going up.

duh...what can you purchase that hasn't gone up and gotten smaller...like candy bars, 12 oz packages of bacon (not a pound), less than 3 oz LARGE bags of chips...I don't like it, but it is reality...moving on...

  11. My problem is I will accept the price increase because Carnival is my line of choice but stop announcing we need to tip over and above on the PA.

John Heald and every CD "encourage" passengers to tip tip tip. Why? I have already paid mine. I refuse to pay additional service charges when the service I receive is already paid for through cruise fare and the required Service Charge every cruise line requires.

    have NEVER heard this, geez

  12. purchase bank debit gift cards (mastercard or visa)....they work wonderfully to secure your s and s account and you avoid the whole mess about cash...and if you have any left, you aren't too bothered about any "holds" that may be there for a few days (I have never had any problem with this method).
