  1. This is the blue suit I was refering too. My husband wore it at our daughters wedding, I expect it will be deemed to bright.
  2. Could anyone advise if a blue or dark grey suit is acceptable on formal night? My husband is happy to wear a suit but only owns suits in these colours and doesn't really want to buy a black one unless absolutely necessary.
  3. We have a Celebrity cruise booked for this year, but we have booked a Cunard Queen Anne cruise for 2025. We always default to Celebrity but think its time to mix it up a little.
  4. Have gone ahead and booked for 6th December 2025, we have one cruised booked with Celebrity for July this year to Croatia and Montenegro and then the Cunard cruise summer 2025. May be the last with Celebrity for the time being as becoming really expensive. I will miss Celebrity as they offer a great product, but having recently retired we need to watch the pennies a bit.
  5. Thank you for the replies. I think I am at the point of booking. Have read a few negative reviews but that seems to be quite common with all cruise lines these days. Friends have said I won't like P&O after sailing Celebrity for many years but I am open to trying new lines. We have booked Cunard's Queen Anne for summer 2025.
  6. Hi, considering a cruise to the Canaries on Iona in early December 2025. Is the ship likely to be full this time of year and what ratio of children likely to be onboard? We usually cruise Celebrity on smaller ships and worry perhaps Iona may be too big and heaving.
  7. Thank you, fingers crossed 🤞 hopefully sailing in Europe there will be a lot of other Europeans on this sailing who are also interested.
  8. We have done the Baltics, it was fabulous, we were fortunate to have St Petersburg on the itinerary. I'm sure it is still a great cruise though as Brugge, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Tallin are all beautiful cities. Alaska was also an amazing experience.
  9. Hi, please don't jump on me for asking about watching sport whilst on a cruise, but will Celebrity Constellation sailing around the Italy & Croatia July 2024 show the Euro cup finals? Booked this cruise a long time ago, before realising the quarters, semi and final will be played whilst we are onboard. My husband is a die hard football fan so will be gutted to miss the games if England are lucky enough to get that far. Note to self to check dates before booking next time 🙄
  10. Yes booked through agent and is the agent I am having problems with. They made the mistake on booking the wrong grade cabin and now want me to pay to change the their mistake.
  11. I filled in pre registration with well known British travel agent for an inside cabin on Queen Anne a few weeks ago, a day or 2 later we had second thoughts about an inside so phoned cruise company to have the request changed to Oceanview. Was assured this had been noted and there would be no issues. Also filled in contact form with request to be sure and asked about increased deposit due. No reply to contact form but assumed all was okay. Today had confirmation that an inside had been booked😬 Just spent 45 minutes on the phone to cruise company to an agent who was useless, told me eventually it hadn't been actioned there end and they would let me change for a admin fee of £50 and a increase of £90 per person on the rate I pre booked for Oceanview. I was also due a discount by them for booking another cruise within a month of returning from another which wasn't included. I argued the fact that was was their mistake and no admin fee from me was due and also the price given at the time of pre registration should be honoured, I asked if she could get someone else to phone me about this but she said it would be escalated to a resolution team and I should get a call in around 5 days time. Not sure what to do if they don't budge, was looking forward to the oceanview room.
  12. Sacrilege! I am sure it will still be tasty though 😋
  13. Thank you all for the info and tips, much appreciated x
  14. Thank you, really looking forward to trying Cunard after solely cruising with Celebrity.
  15. Hi, Have just pre registered for our 1st Cunard cruise in 2025, I have coeliac disease so need to eat gluten free. I like the idea of afternoon tea and my question is do they have gluten free scones? I am from Devon so scones, jam & clotted cream are high on my list of favorite foods. Also on the Cunard website it says the pub has gluten free options, the menu doesn't show any. Does anyone have any gluten free knowledge on these venues please?
  16. We have just returned from the Eclipse, had a invite to sail away in Vancouver without charge.
  17. Thank you all for this interesting thread. Even though I would definitely love to book this particular itinerary I have decided to to monitor the price for a while longer to see if the price drops, if it stays high I will look at a different Itinerary, I have seen a couple of others that may interest me . What would you say is a fair price for an inside cabin around the Mediterranean in Sterling please.
  18. Thank you both for your response. I will seriously give this cruise some consideration. I will perhaps check with the travel agent to confirm the 1 change policy.
  19. Hi, A little about us, we are early 60's and always cruise with Celebrity, we just book a standard balcony as that is in our price range. We love Celebrity but have been looking at a cruise with Azamara for May 2025 (Islands of the Mediterranean 12 nights) We would only be able to afford inside or ocean view at a push but the price seems so high. 12 nights cruise only inside cabin just over £3000pp. I looked at same cruise for 2024 and around £800pp less. Does this price seem excessive for inside. Don't want to book if the price is likely to drop as here in UK we usually don't get price drops honoured. If I booked the inside and price dropped is there the possibility to upgrade at the new price?
  20. We were select dining on Eclipse last week and made reservations for the select main dining room at 8.30pm each night. Had card in room saying we had been allocated table on level 3 set dining for 8.30pm, worked in our favour as had a lovely table for 2 by the window with an empty table beside us for the week.
  21. Just came off the Eclipse, I have coeliac disease and was well catered for both in the buffet and main dining room. Dissapointed no cake on offer in coffee shop though.
  22. We have a Celebrity Constellation cruise for next July, but I to will look at other lines for future cruises.
  23. Topper was one of them, contrary to previous post we thought it was excellent as did most people at the show. Amade was another which is modern twist on Mozart, this was also good.
