  1. Bummer, I’ve been stalking you for many previous reviews and now I’m going to out myself.  You are very entertaining and I believe factual in your writing style. Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to write another excellent review.  Cuba has been on my bucket list for years, and I’m very sure it will be happening this year.  You are giving me many insights in planning for my future cruise.  Can’t wait to read more about your wonderful “journey” on Journey!

  2. Obviously not a very smart guy.  He could have been killed, broken both legs (and therefore unable to swim to shore), he could have had the wind knocked out of him (therefore, again, unable to swim to shore), he could have not cleared the ship and smashed into anything...Glad he's banned for life for that stupid stunt!

Equinox is doing alternating 7 day sailings, Eastern and Western Caribbean, from Ft. Lauderdale in November and December.  We are booked on the Nov 16 sailing.

    Thank you!!

  4. This is a little off topic, but does anyone know where Equinox wil be in November and early December?  Sailings end the last of October and don’t start again until mid December.  My research shows she is scheduled for dry dock in May, so that can’t be the reason there are no bookings in November.

  5. In June we used Blackberry for the transfer from Heathrow to our hotel in London. They were very accommodating. We had a very tight schedule to get from the hotel to a foodie tour we had booked, and the driver waited while we dropped our bags at the hotel (we didn’t take time to check in) and then he whisked us off to meet up with our tour group. We made it in plenty of time. I would definitely use Blackberry again!

  6. I second the endorsement for TJ travel in St. Pete! We were there in June, 2018 and we had an excellent 3 day tour with our guide, Sophia. She took us to all the highlights, castles, museums and landmarks. More importantly, she took us to some places that other friends of ours in different tour groups didn’t get to see. She was very knowledgeable and we felt her tour was worth every penny!

  7. We were on a Celebrity Med cruise in 2012 and had arranged private tours with a Canadian woman and her adult son, so we became friendly and enjoyed their company. Fast forward to 2016–some friends talked us into a Panama Canal cruise on Princess. We were on an excursion in Cartegena and the bus stopped at a very congested shopping area. I stepped off the bus and right before me was the son, with his wife. I said “Hello, Mitch”his name (our travel companions thought I was delusional!) and he stopped dead in his tracks, and we started chatting. We both remembered each other immediately and he introduced me to his lovely wife. Funny that they were on Infinity docked next to us! Small world!

  8. Obvious many of us prefer the Lawn Grill. I do not think you will ever see the Glass Workshop on the Silhouette or Reflection. I am fairly certain the the LGC is more profitable.

Food is sooo subjective...experiences can last a lifetime! Just my 2 cents!

  9. Silhouette and Reflection have never had the hot glass show and were built with the Lawn Club Grill instead. I personally love the LCG!

I Stand corrected, the Corning Glass show was never on Silly, and I missed seeing it the first time I was on board. The new glass workshop would be a great addition to the ship next time she goes to dry dock. ;)

  10. We’re on Silhouette next week. The hot. Glass show has been replace with another food venue on Silhouette. I will miss the Corning glass show, and would love to do a glass blowing class next time we are on a ship that offers it. There are plenty of places to eat, but glass blowing would be a very unique experience. I hope others will tell you (us) that it is worthwhile.

    Enjoy your cruise—I love Equinox!!

  11. Google is usually a bit pessimistic with time estimates, but I would have thought that these two estimates were on the optimistic side for that time of the day, the first more so than the second.

In fact, I've just tried a Google Maps estimate for tomorrow morning, leaving Heathrow at 8.30 am. This suggests that it could take between 50 and 100 minutes, which is more the sort of bracket that I would have said.

In most circumstances, Marble Arch to London Bridge is much better done by Tube: Central Line to Bond Street, Jubilee Line to London Bridge. But that assumes that "London Bridge" as the starting location is at or near London Bridge station rather than somewhere else that could plausibly use "London Bridge" as a description.

Well thank you so much for another perspective! I’m crossing my fingers that we will make to the tour on time!

  12. Yes, I agree that it will be tight but I scheduled the food tour and later found out it is non refundable, so we either rush like crazy to get there or lose our $$. Originally I tried to book the afternoon tour but it was full. Maybe I’ll check back to see if they’ve had some drop outs.It is an overnight flight, so I plan to have some Melatonin along so we can catch some zzz’s. We arrive on a Tuesday, so I guess we will be dealing with morning rush hour. As for hiring a car, yes, we have a driver, so I hope he knows how to navigate the city to get us where we need to be.

Being from Montana, a very slightly populated state, I was amazed to find out how long it will take to get from the airport into the city!

    Thanks for your quick reply!!

  13. We are very excited to be spending a few days in London pre cruise. We have booked a food tour that begins at London Bridge at 11:00 a.m. We land in London at 7:40, have hired a car and plan to drop our bags at the hotel in Marble Arch area before having the car take us to the meeting point near London Bridge. Is it reasonable to make this time schedule?

  14. I've been reading the most recent 4 or 5 pages of this forum, and I still can't make heads or tails of TapaTalk. I added it to my phone through the app store and it does not do anything for me...it wants me to follow topics that I may be interested in, but I don't see where I can upload photos so that I can EASILY post them on CC. Can someone please help me? Thank you!

  15. Danish Viking, thank you for all of the great info you are sharing! My question is, how can I find out where we will be docked when we are in port? We are on Silhouette 6/12/18. Is it correct that there are several different docks that the ships use? I am trying to plan our day efficiently so that we can see as much as possible, and knowing where we will begin the morning will help out very much.
