  1. Had a similar experience when I cashed in a bunch of FlexPerks points for a $500 royal gift card. We had a large group sailing, and unbeknownst to me prior to cashing in the points, we had to go through a special booking process to use the card. I believe they called it a Maritz (sp?) certificate that could not be used when part of a group, or pretty much anything else. So we lost out on any of the group perks, because we were a single reservation, that couldn't be linked.

Of course, it was completely non-refundable.

Then there are the ones that have to get up and work the room. Oh brother, save me from the pompous blow hards that are rarely as important as they think they are.

Or the ones in the elevator "I wish Royal had an elevator dedicated to Suite guests like NCL does." (Which they didn't have on my last 3 NCL ships).

Or the ones in the Guest Services line "We are Mr and Mrs Smith, and we are Diamond +. Are we on ship's time or local time in port tommorow?

In line for the ice show  "Are you a suite guest? We are in a suite and are supposed to have reserved seating and were just wondering where it is at."

The list goes on and on.

On some ships all the photos are printed  and displayed on boards which is a waste.

The digital photos you enter your room number on a screen and all your photos are shown.

You pick which ones you want and call back later to pick your photos up when they are printed.

So if I am reading that D+ benefits sheet right, the only free photos you can get are the pre-printed ones?

I was just on Adventure last week and don't remember seeing any photos already printed. They were all stored on the computer.

There is wash and fold laundry on there although we never use that as we always bring plenty of clothes with us.

The free photo each is good plus the discount in the shops for RC merchandise.

We don't use the spa or the casino but do use the DL/CL and and the 3 free drinks in other bars

So what is the difference between a printed photo and a digital one?  I thought they were all digital.

Nope....not at all. We've never seen what you've described among hundreds of direct contacts on 10 cruises to day...including on Oasis, Allure, and Harmony with all those passengers...nor at the large main dining room table, which we prefer (so that we can meet new fellow cruisers).

    You must be living right.

I want to hang with you on my next cruise.

Wear your status as a badge of accomplishment and great life experiences - when we sail, we usually can't tell apart the Gold from the Pinnacles (except may a bit by age). Status is rarely even brought up or flaunted in any way. That's the way is should be.

Are you holed up in your cabin 24/7?

It seems like I can't go anywhere without someone talking about their status, or practically pushing their gold sea pass card in your face to make sure you see it.

Had one on Oasis last week.

I use that and the magnet hooks.  If I need to hand wash an item on a longer or B2B cruise,  I hang it in the shower until it is drip dry, then transfer it to a magnet hook in the cabin.  Don't need to leave a puddle on the carpet for the cabin attendant.  😉

I just clipped my wet stuff to the back of the chair on the balcony. Dried very quickly.

I'm baffled why you would think this. Royal encouraged credit accumulations by offering extra cruise credits to people just for sailing in December (Diamonds in December). They hyped it up with extra 'special events' for doing these extra credit sailings.

So you all are proud of the fact that you used "Royals Rules" to more easily obtain Diamond.

But now you are complaining that so many others did the exact same thing, thus causing an overcrowding situation, which RCCL is trying to remedy. And since you are losing benefits so others with a higher status than you can maintain their benefits, it's totally unfair.

    Serious question or strawman?

    Serious question.

People seem to think there is no problem with gaming the system, when it benefits them.

But should RCCL decide to change the benefits for certain levels of loyalty to help alleviate some obvious problems with the current system, and possibly to help keep the program afloat, IT'S ARMAGEDDON!

One thing nobody seems to want to look at, is the fact that benefits for ALL  C&A levels have been adjusted. It's not just the Diamonds feeling the pain, but they are responsible for 95% of the wailing, beating of chests, and gnashing of teeth.

I have been expecting them to change the amount of points for each level for quite a while now. As a newer diamond, I feel i made it under the wire. There are too many diamonds for that small lounge.

Maybe RCCL is just trying to get even for the Diamond and Diamond+ who simply took all of those 3 and 4 night trips just to establish their C&A status before the point per night change. Do any of you feel one bit guilty for getting a full 7 nights credit for those trips when the changeover happened?

You tell me,...... YESTERDAY, I emailed Vision of the seas concerning our next cruise at VI_Restaurantoperationscoodernator@rccl.com (every ship has this site with their own initials)  as I have on every cruise...to request a table in main dining.

    TODAY I received this answer:

    Good day Ms. XXXX,

Table has been assigned as requested , table for 2 near the window - AQUARIUS Dining Room - Deck 4

That is the best service one can ask for....just another reason I support the service RCCL stands for in most cases on this board...another side of the story.

They have always done everything in their power to provide my requests and correct any issues we've had.  That's why we cruise them most of the time.

They did the same thing for us when we took our Liberty cruise. They even sent us a layout of the MDR with the available 2-tops highlighted, so we could pick the one we wanted!
