  1. Correction, I booked it through Shore Excursions Group not Viator.
  2. I have booked a tour through Viator and I am also wondering if it is worthwhile.
  3. I saw a post that recommended being up to see a lighthouse as the ship comes into port. Unfortunately, I did not note the port for which it was recommended. Our ports are Boston, Portland, St. John and Halifax. Which one or ones would provide us a view of a lighthouse, one worth losing sleep over? πŸ˜„
  4. How did you learn that a shuttle was available? I have taken several RCI cruises and never knew of one. I am feeling that I missed out! πŸ˜€ I have felt blessed when there was a shuttle from the ship to the end of the dock!πŸ˜…
  5. Exactly! I hope you didn't think I was promoting that "excursion"!
  6. For our cruise at the end of August, RCI is offering an "excursion", Boston on Your Own, a ride from the ship to "central Boston". You are then on your own and you will meet back four hours later for a ride back to the ship. All for the low, low price of $64.99 each. Sounds like the days of free or low-cost shuttles are over. You can do the hop on-hop off for about $5 more and get transportation around the city as well.
  7. A couple more questions - Is this museum worth seeing? How far is it from the nearest OldTown Trolley stop #9?
  8. I am interested in visiting the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. What is the best transportation to get there? Bus, taxi?
  9. Has anyone taken a bus from the port to the Boston Public Garden? If so, please share the details of the line you took and did it require transfers? Are the buses reliable for getting back to the ship at the end of the day?
  10. Thanks. My husband will be terribly disappointed.😫
  11. Thanks to both of you. That is what I thought might be the case. Now to search for things I can do with my limited mobility.πŸ˜€
  12. We are considering this excursion offered by the ship in Boston. Knowing that many excursions are little more than bus rides, I am wondering if this one will be worthwhile. Have any of you taken this tour? Are there any actual stops other than at Harvard? Thanks in advance!
  13. Thanks. I just received my card and because I sail at the end of August, I am concerned about getting it credited in time. After I applied, I read that it can take 6 to 8 weeks for it to be available. Here's hoping I get it in time to use it!
  14. How long after you met the spending goal was the $250 posted to your rewards balance?
  15. I was just approved for the card and am wondering how long it takes for the $250 to become available after the $1000 charge requirement is met. I am sailing Aug 31st and am concerned that it will not be available to be used for OBC by then. What have been your experiences?
  16. We will be in St. John the first week of September 2023 and are considering the Sunset Wildlife and Whale Watching Excursion. Have any of you taken this tour and if so would you recommend it? The tour is listed as being seven hours long. I am curious about how much time is travel and how much is actually spent on the boat. Thanks in advance for your input.
  17. We will be in Halifax the first week of September 2023 and are considering Paul McNeil's Novia Scotia South Shore Tour. Have any of you taken this tour and if so would you recommend it? Thanks in advance for your input.

    RCR Tour

Did you book this and have you gone? I am considering it for later this month.
  19. I haven't been able to cruise in about four years due to health issues and then COVID but in my many earlier cruises the tour operators adjusted their times based on when the ships arrived. This time several have said this is our departure time, period. If your ship isn't here, too bad. I would have thought they were in more need of business. At least with Cosol you don't have to pay ahead of time so if you can't make it, you don't lose your money.
