  1. Just back today from our Rocky Mountaineer trip. Don’t mean to hijack the thread. Sorry. What a fabulous trip. And it reinforced my love of Canadians! You are all so nice. And spectacular weather. We had one day of smoke in Calgary. But not too bad. At home in Pennsylvania, there were several days of terrible smoke. Pray that the wildfires are put out soon and everyone is safe
  2. I love Food Republic! Am looking forward to enjoying it again on our September cruises. I feel like it is the best kept secret on NCL! We spent 27 days on Escape in the fall last year and went there several times. The first time, we made a reservation the day we got on the ship. They "managed to work us in". When we got there, maybe 3 other tables were being used. After that, we just walked up and always a fairly empty venue. I hope we are able to continue using one dining credit for two people since 4 items is plenty. If not, think we will use the approach of one dining credit, and pay for one item off the menu. As stated previously, they can't possibly police who is eating what! Why does it need to be this hard?
  3. Arriving in Vancouver on Saturday, and taking the Rocky Mountaineer on Monday. Please keep that good weather going for us!
  4. Cruised Iceland and Norway last summer. You will love it! Iceland is dramatic. And Norway is so beautiful. Enjoy! I look forward to following along. Hi to Dad!
  5. Such a fabulous trip report. Did a Viking Iceland and Norway cruise July 2022. Spectacular. Norway is absolutely beautiful. Iceland is dramatic!
  6. What a pleasant surprise seeing you here! Have seen many of your posts on the Viking boards. Iceland is wonderful. Have a fabulous crossing. Love the transatlantic crossings. And especially the one transpacific we have done!
  7. Agreed! Met him on the TA in November. And Edison is also knowledgeable and a delight!
  8. While I wasn't on Bliss, but I did spend 27 days on Escape last fall. So glad we found Cellars! They did not have a set wine list. It was more of an interaction where you tell them what you like, and they have you try some wine. We had the basic drink package, and paid the couple $ upcharge for some of the wines. And, the staff there was wonderful! Hope you have the same great experience on Bliss!
  9. G'day mate! You will have a great cruise! Will love to hear abut it if you have the time.
  10. We had this happen to us on our last cruise before the pandemic. We knew we had refundable OBC due to us. My sister, the very experienced cruiser, told me that it would just be applied back to my credit card. Just to be sure, I asked an officer at guest services. He confirmed that the credit would be applied back to my credit card. But, no! We got he buzzer as we were getting off the ship! They actually had someone set up with a cash drawer counting out cash. Crazy. Thanks for this great review. Love following along.
  11. We were just on Escape. Regarding Food Republic and Pincho's - each specialty package included any 4 items from the menu. My husband and I found that sharing 4 items in either of these restaurants was a great dinner for us. So we just told them that we only wanted to use one specialty dining. Gave us the chance to go to each 3 times and try just about all of the options. We felt like these 2 spots were the best kept secret on the ship!
  12. If you own NCLH stock in an IRA, can you still get the OBC for your sailing? Thanks!
  13. We stayed at Albergo del Senato for our 4 nights in Rome before our Mediterranean cruise in October. Thanks for pointing us in that direction! We loved this hotel. Our window overlooked the Pantheon and plaza. We weren't bothered by noise at all. Once the window and shutters were closed, we didn't hear anything. The breakfast was terrific every morning. And the roof top bar excellent. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Had a lovely visit in Rome. It is a fabulous city.
  14. I'll look forward to trying some other Chef's Table menus in future! See if they can change my opinion.
  15. Our posts about the different restaurants just confirms how subjective food is on a cruise. Isn't it great that there is something for everyone? Nice to have choices.
  16. While this doesn't answer the original poster, I have to say that Manfredi's was my favorite meal of the cruise! We were able to get there twice. The rib steak was so good, I had it both times! We did an Asian menu at Chef's Table. It was good, but nothing spectacular like I thought it would be. I think they should convert the Chef's Table dining room into an extension of Manfredi's.
  17. We were on Viking Jupiter in July, and I loved the food! My first dinner was liver and onions, which was fabulous. And certainly not common to see on a menu. I'm guessing very few people were as excited as me to see it! My sister sailed with us, and had been on Jupiter pre pandemic. She felt the food on this cruise was very good, but not quite as good as previously. Does anyone else feel that way? Just curious if it's the same supply chain and cost issues hitting everything. Please don't take this as a criticism of Viking.
  18. I'm interested in a segway tour while we are docked in Bermuda next month. I have found Segway Tours Bermuda. Does anyone have experience with them or any other segway outfits in Bermuda? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
  19. And after they get people to understand this, we can move on to pet peeve number 2 (no pun intended). That would be instruction on how to close a cabin door without slamming.
