We had the same problem on our cruise last week. Everything wasn't horrible but there wasn't much that was appealing to us. Could have been also we were not feeling well for the cruise. The Asian restaurant was bad all the meat was way over cooked and dry.

I didn't go hungry but I was pretty underwhelmed by the new menu choices.

The best was the specialty we did cagneys for the first time and the Italian and they were both great!

Sailed on the gem last week

I never had a problem getting myself drinks at the bars. But I did notice a difference since the last time I was on the gem with servers especially during shows in the spinnaker or servers in the theater before shows. There was maybe a handful not even.

Was just in Nassau and stopped at BCH they are doing a lot of construction said their pool area is closed and they are shipping their hotel guests somewhere else for pool service.

Went to Junkanoo with 5 cruise ships in port that day was very busy but we got there around 8 and left about 1. Was a great time!

No work for a week!!!!!!!! And everything else!

I'm just simply annoyed that ncl has yet to address any of the changes. I have a scheduled tour for 1pm which is now the time the shop gets in. Now it doesn't show up under things that are booked which had me in a panic because I know it's paid for.

No notification of anything is what's annoying to me mostly. I'm sure the time will change and that's fine but at least let us 1000s of customers know what's happening!

How much is a taxi from the port to melia resort?

Maybe something to do with what kids club is being replaced with since they got rid of nick

Our cruise changed gem sept 5th my online travel agency website still shows the old times

Orlando was 12-930 now 1pm arrival

GSC was 10-6 now it's 11-7

So strange. I'm mostly upset about GSC :(

U can rent a wave runner anywhere but how often do you get to go pet and feed sting rays!? [emoji50] we booked this for our upcoming cruise so hopefully it's as awesome as it sounds and looks on YouTube [emoji16]

Well no I won't be canceling I'm dying for a vacation. On the other hand I'm completely pissed off with all the changes. With all the price increases cruising is starting to be less affordable for me.. I'm sure other cruise lines will start raising prices also.. Will just have to wait and see what happens by next year for me.

I don't have time to read the hundreds of posts. But this increase....is it the one that was announced over 6 months ago and is now just taking place?

 

If so this is old news and its not really raising gratuities "again."

I don't understand why he would mention what he likes and his wife likes, he's not a paying customer. He should look at what the customer wants.

If they are going to be charging more for apps then I would assume the portions will be larger than they are now. So they could be family style like at a normal land based restaurants?! At least I would hope so

As I recall when we went to the "drill" last year, the scanned our room keys and then said to take a seat. Did their thing, maybe in about 10 minutes and that was it. We didn't learn a whole lot.

 

 

 

Has anyone ever had their keys scanned and just left? Sorry to say it but it was pretty useless.

They've always just asked for our room number. But really where would you go? Nothing is open..everything closes for muster drill. Can't you just grin and bare it for those 10 minutes? If they were to find out you skipped they could make you goto the make up drill the next day.

There is a small amount in this category that do not have a tub

Family ocean views with large window sleep 5 and are pretty spacious

I'm so happy I booked when I did a few weeks ago. Paid 899ish for a balcony in the gem sept 5th now the prices are well over 1000pp! Plus UBP and $100 OBC from TA! Also going to be getting another $50 from TA and going to cash in points from NCL credit card for OBC I can't really complain! I guess it just depends on the week! [emoji57]

We face timed on the ship when docked in Bermuda. It was kind of slow but worked just fine.

I book myself using an online travel agency. I pick what I want but if I need anything I can call them and the people are really great that I've spoken with. They also have their own loyalty program when you book with them which is great now I'll be getting extra obc for it!

I really liked the French kiss they have on the menu @ le bistro. Wonder if that's covered under ubp

I've contacted NCL and they told me I'll have a new card for this onboard credit thing. I thought it would be the same card as my "sail pass" (that's what they do on RCCL). So it seems i'll have 2 cards: 1 sail pass and 1 "credit on board card".

You get one card. All your obc that you would have is linked to that one card. It's used to purchase things on the ship and to open your cabin door. If you are using cash you would have to put money on the card at guest services before you can spend anything on it. If you are using a credit card debit card you give that to them when you first check in at the port before they give you your card.

just booked this excursion super excited! Just wondering if anyone could tell me where you go to get the boat that takes you to where the stingrays are? I remember reading it somewhere but can't remember. Trying to figure out where I will be plopping myself for the day until we have to catch the boat at 2! :)
