  1. Just a guess here but I am guessing it depends on age. I would guess that most under the age of say... 55 would book themselves or with Carnival and the older posters would vote for a TA. Younger generations is more used to shopping and using the internet for research. Plus I like doing it myself as no one has more interest in my cruise and my $$$ than me. I watch much closer than any TA would monitor the situation.

My last cruise booked through a TA I called them to inform them of a price drop instead of the other way around.

  2. New to Carnival and look to be cruising in March on the Victory. I really want the Cheers package I believe it is called. $50 or so a day. It was explained to me on the phone that if one in the cabin gets that package all over 21 have to get the same package. My wife will not drink anything alcoholic and just want a soda package. Kicker is we are going with another couple who is in the same situation. One wants cheers and other just wants soda. Any chance we could switch with them and then purchase 2 soda package and 2 cheers package. Just hate having to pay the $$$ if all she wants is soda.

Thanks in advance for any help.

  3. OK... Been around 5 years since last cruise and wife wanting to cruise again. Crusied with RC last time. Anyways thinking of booking freedom in March on an eastern Carribean route.

Can someone tell me the differences between D1, D2, D3, E1, E2 etc on the freedom? Should I look for the front or the rear of the ship? I know not one by the elevator but any other tips?

Any other help on cabin selections? Looking at the March 6th cruise.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

  4. I am just in my initial planning for a cruise in Feb. 2016. Ouch! Seems so far away. Took my last cruise in 2011 on NOS. Had a balcony cabin then. I need to refresh my memory on many things. Will be searching high and low on here for tips but some basic questions first.

    1. Is it too early to book for that timeframe? I know the cruises are open but is it advisable to book that far in advance?

    2. If I would book this far out how are payments done? When will they be due.

    3. If I book now and choose a cabin can this be changed? Can I change cabin classes also?

Any other tips for this far out timeframe. Can't do one next year as that is my Sturgis trip and a few others.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

  5. Someone may need to confirm if they still do this but the best money saving tip I found was last year on Voyager. I spent 20 on the port shopping book because they did 2 for 1 on the Drink of the Day with the smiley face sticker on your card.

Not sure I understand what you are saying here. You bought a port shopping book taht gave you 2 for 1 on the drink of the day? Where was the book sold? Is this book on all Voyager class ships?
