  2. So they say. Two weeks ago on Oasis we were sitting at one of the tables outside the pub and a woman at the table next to us was hitting an eCig constantly from about an hour before the 70's Show right through the show. She had the pack of refill cartridges (is that what they call them?) sitting right on the table and none of the staff said a word.

Interestingly enough another person at our table, who will always make passive aggressive comments if they smells cigarette smoke, was sat with their back to them and never noticed the entire time.

That has been my experience as well. If nobody says anything, the staff will not bother a vaper. That is also true in the casino. As a former smoker, I can say that while I am not crazy about having to breathe someone else's cigarette smoke, vapers do not bother me at all.

  3. Remember that by then all of the new suites amenities will be in effect on the Anthem. For a GS or OS you would be a "Sky" level which includes free high speed internet access and use of the thermal spa - just to name 2. I have never sailed in a Haven suite on NCL so I'm not sure what their suites amenities are, but the new RCI program is going to be awesome ! http://www.royalcaribbean.com/royalsuiteclass

  4. Yep...different for every ship and every sailing. Who knows why. I was able to make my dining reservations for a Grandeur cruise more than 6 months in advance but had to call and plead with them to open the dining reservations on an Oasis cruise that was less than 60 days out. No rhyme or reason to it as far as I can tell.

  5. I called RCI last week to verify the cabana prices. As noted elsewhere, the Nellie's Beach cabanas are generally (now) available for reservation online by non-suite guests but the Barefoot cabanas are only available to suites guests - presumably unless some go unreserved and then perhaps would be available to non-suites guests....which rarely happens.

I was told that both the Nellie's Beach and Barefoot Beach cabana prices have been raised - actually Nellie's Beach cabana prices have gone up twice in the past several weeks...but surprisingly, the CS person at RCI was not able to give me a price for the Barefoot Beach cabana - only the ones at Nellie's Beach. That surprised me. He said that generally means that either the prices for the [bFB] cabanas are going to fluctuate or they just haven't decided on a final price yet.

BTW, the prices for the beach beds have gone up too. They are now $195.

  6. As with so many things, I think it depends on who you get at the CS help desk. I have had both happen to me (losing the OBC and having it moved successfully to a new booking). I even had my OBC increased once when I moved from a 7 night booking that I made onboard to an 8 night booking...my OBC actually went UP $50 b/c the bonus for an 8 night was more than it was for a 7 night. So it just depends on who you get on the phone. Bottom line...I would not settle for the answer "no, you cannot move the OBC...you will lose it if you try". I KNOW it can be done so I would keep trying until you get someone who will move it for you.

  7. I have never stolen anything or expected any addition service or amenity EVER. I do this b/c I want to show my appreciation BEFORE service is offered. It is a "respect" thing. I am new to this site and obviously I have come to the wrong place. You will not be bothered by my obvious greed and self-absorbed attitude again. Oh wait...I think that might be someone else...

  8. That's an interesting comment. I have had just the OPPOSITE experience. I cruised with NCL 1 time !!! ...and I received a free cruise (of course, a free cruise isn't free...you pay taxes, port fees and whatever upgrade you want). I am CERTAIN that NCL is trying to "steal" me away from Club Royale and it almost worked...until I realized that I am getting 50% off my cruise fare (which works out to 43% in the end) from Club Royale. That's pretty hard to pass up. How that will change if they ever get around to implementing the new program, I don't know....but for now, I am receiving 50% every cruise I take with RCCL. You can hardly beat that.

  9. So it looks like it's been a while since this thread has been active. Trying to generate some new discussion.

As everyone surely knows by now, the original "cut-off date" of March 15 was withdrawn and the new program - whatever it will end up being - has been indefinitely delayed. As far as I know nobody lost their cash rebates (we certainly did not) and they are still bestowing both cash rebates and cruise fare discounts.

The fact that this thread has been dormant for so long leads me to believe that there has not been any new information...so I guess I know as much as anyone at this point.

  10. I absolutely LOVE the luggage valet program. It is worth EVER penny of the $20 PP that they charge. The answer to part 2 (early flight) is no. They will not allow you to use luggage valet if you have an early flight...exactly how early is the discriminator. With most ports, you must have a flight that leaves at 11:30 or later. That threshold time is different at PC...maybe 1:00 PM ? Can't remember for sure.

So if you have a flight leaving before 11:30 and you are leaving out of FLL, MIA...one of the airports that supports luggage valet, then you will not be able to use it.

  11. How can they change your cabin if you booked a specific room? What if you booked super early to get a room you really wanted? I realize they gave an upgrade but someone may want a specific room for whatever reason.'

I would love for this to happen to us but thought it would only happen on guarantee rooms.

I don't think they will automatically upgrade you unless you have indicated that you WANT an automatic upgrade in your profile. As you said, not everyone wants an upgrade....so I suspect that the upgrade option had already been chosen.

  12. I am wondering if anyone has heard anything recently about the changes that are supposed to be taking place with Royal's Club Royale program ?

I keep hearing that they are rolling out a new tiered program and that benefits are going to change, but so far it's nothing but delay after delay (not that I mind....I think I will probably lose out once they institute a tiered program).

The CS folks at Club Royal told me on the phone not too long ago that they were going to stop the cruise fare discounts beyond March of 2016 but I have cruises booked in November and December and I was given a full 50% discount (which actually works out to about 43%) for both of those cruise fares...so obviously that has not yet occurred.

Anything anyone has heard is appreciated.
