rallydave, have you considered taken the Seabourn Airport coach with city tour, that are usually put on in home ports for people whose flights leave after a certain time in the afternoon.
Usually not that expensive and your luggage is safely locked underneath.

It varies by cruise, ship and location.
These were the complimentary wines on Ovation in early May (Barcelona to Lisbon)
(Plus beer and scotch)
However on the next leg (Lisbon to Amsterdam) they changed.
So take these as an example only

I’ve found that Ovation, Encore and Quest (3 newest ships) laundries excellent, no overheating (spoiling) of elastic in items.
Not so with Sojourn’s laundry, that was a case of leaving the underwear behind in the waste bin.

When we went to Antarctica (first cruise of the second season in 2014) I got by with buying the internet in 2hour blocks at $10 an hour. I found that by working offline and just going online to send and receive that 2 hours lasted about a week (I wasn't posting photos)
We had one bag of laundry a week included in our status then and I managed to fit a week’s washing (including slacks) in a bag.
I managed to stuff in 48 items once (although I think the record claimed on this board is about 67 items! )
Your laundry does come back pressed [including underwear folded in tissue paper!
(Just like at home, NOT !) (I must speak to SWMBO🤣🤣]

On the “Little Ships” Pride etc. they had two barge like tenders that were used to go ashore instead of using the life rafts as they do now.
These tenders were kept in the water sports platform compartment.
They would “sink” the stern of the ship about two feet (by adjusting or pumping in ballast water) and just drive the tenders into the compartment.
It was an interesting operation to watch.

I realize that it’s not the Caribbean but In the most recent mail-out that I have from Seabourn, (Antarctic and South America Cruises) it states (Combination cruise savings of UP TO 15%. (my CAPS).

If you’re content to work out on your own the bikes seem fairly technical, you can program in hills etc or just follow some of the preset routes

Excuse my ignorance ( I had to Google “spin classes” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indoor_cycling as I am not a gym person) but in the gym on Encore and Ovation there are 5 stationary bikes.
I’m sure if Spin Classes are not offered you could ask Guest Relations and if they can’t arrange some, they could put a notice in the Herald and ask if anyone else is interested.

From our experience on our recent cruise.
We booked two excursions before the cruise and paid for them both on our credit card.
On boarding we went to Seabourn Square and had both excursions offset against our onboard credit.
Later we decided to cancel one of the excursions, 100% of that tour cost was credited to our OBC. (NO cancelation fee was deducted)
On leaving the ship all the amounts that had been added to our OBC were credited back to our card.
(we had spent all the amount of the original OBC onboard on the one tour and other purchases.)
Hope this makes sense.

Not on Encore and Ovation on a warm sea day.
There are plenty of sunbeds but people reserve them, I watched people reserving them on the way to breakfast and they’re still unused at 11 am ! 🤬

Hmm, I wonder if this announcement from Royal Caribbean that popped up on Facebook has anything to do with it ?

We were about to go ashore from Ovation in May (2019).
As we walked past the Hotel Director’s office to the Gangway on Deck 5, my wife removed her sunglasses from the case, and discovered that screw for one hinge had come out and was missing.
Kevin Huxham, the Hotel Director was talking to someone in his office doorway and saw what had happened.
He took the sunglasses from her and showed us into his office (there was a cold wind coming through the open door next to the Gangway).
He then excused himself and came back about 10 minutes later with the sunglasses repaired with a new screw in place.!
That’s what I call service.
We were “Wowed” that he would take the trouble to do this ! 👍😀

-galeforce9 I agree with all Fletcher’s comments, its also my favorite part of the world,, although I’m biased as it’s my backyard.
There are so many places to see and things to do.
I traveled extensively through the South Pacific when I was younger, although now my travels are largely on Seabourn.
My family raised cattle (5,000 head Brahman cross) an hours drive from Port Vila for over 30 years.
With my dad (WW2 pilot) I spent a month traveling around New Guinea on a coastal steamer in 1956 as a 10 year (when Rabaul Harbour still had Landing Craft crowding the beach.)
Efate, the island where Port Vila is located, can be driven around in 3 hours on the coral road that hugs the shoreline most of the way (constructed by US troops during the war.)
May I suggest that you google the ports and look at what’s on offer, there is so much to see, especially if you are interested in WW2 history

Normally they like you off by 9 am. However you can sometimes hang around in Seabourn Square until later; but remember your suitcases are sitting down on the dock or in a shed or tent somewhere.
Unless you don’t put them out in the passage the night before and you carry them off the ship yourself (You need to ask permission to do this)

Depends on the staff.
Usually on Quest I’ve found that they start serving their delicious coffee in the Square at 6.15 am (on Ovation this year the Barista would serve a bit earlier if someone was waiting and he was set up)
In the Obs Lounge it’s set up earlier, I’ve seen coffee out at 5.30 am some mornings.

I assume that they don’t actually cancel your excursion booking, just change the way it’s charged, as your tickets are in your room the day you embark.
I’ve never had a problem doing it this way.

Book the excursions now on your credit card, then on boarding the lovely staff at Seabourn Square will rebook them against your onboard credit and credit the amount back to your card.
However they will not credit your card until you disembark.
(They use up the shipboard credits first)

We were discussing this with some of the officers on Ovation last May. They thought it strange that Windstar would spend so much money on 30 year old ships. Also they commented that the handling might be affected with the extra length.

You are still eligible for the $400, (the coupon goes in after your final payment) its just that you won’t be able to use the $150 if it came from Seabourn, but if the $150 is from your TA it can be used in conjunction, (check that, $400 is better than $150)
Best find someone local to Seattle with a referral who can post it off quickly.
