They had Let it Ride, Pai Gow Poker, Texas Hold Em, 3 Card Poker....and maybe a few others. We didn't spend too much time on the tables, to be honest.

 

There's also a separate high roller room that we only ever saw one person in the whole cruise, no idea what games they are doing in there.

Thanks for the link! I have never heard of it before! It is exactly like this except the pins are regular bowling pin-shaped!

I believe that is called duck pin, with slightly shorter but regular shaped pins and candle pin balls (which IMO are the best type to bowl with). I'm loving your review of the Getaway and am hoping to be on it next year.

It seems like prices have climbed a bit over the last 4 years on most of their room categories and I think part of it is the fact they've really made a push to increase their fleet with 5 new top of the line ships which I'm sure are pretty expensive.

I am thinking about staying in an AFT PH on the Getaway. I was wondering for those who have, if the room would work for a family of 4, myself, DW, DS(7), DD(4). It says it sleeps 4 and I was wondering where the other 2 people would sleep? I've stayed in the 2-Bedrooms on the dawn and those are fabulous but I can't swing the difference between an Aft PH and 2-Bedroom on the GA and we love the Haven perks and would like to keep them if it's doable. Our family would all be happy and fine with the 4 of us in an inside so all sharing a room and small space is not a problem for us, but just curious about the sleeping options for the kids.

Thinking about doing our first Disney cruise as well and really enjoying your reviews. Thanks for posting.

I agree with the others and thought they are perfectly acceptable to sleep on. My two children 5 & 2 shared it for a week and there were a couple of nights I comfortably fell a sleep on it myself putting them to bed.

I was also just wondering 2 things if I use cash to secure my account after getting my key cards do I need to go on the ship and do more to set up my account? Or if using a debit card what is the amount the hold initially?

We (10) will be on the Dawn in Dec.2013 and I was wondering if 5:45 was a time that would get us at one table without any wait> Any opinions?

Also, the way I've read here, the Dawn always seems to tender, never one of the other three NCL or other cruise lines.

It does always seem from the reviews that it is always the Dawn tendering in Cozumel unless everyone seems to be reviewing this same December cruise

I have never been on the Dawn and have also been seeing a lot of negative reviews coming from her recently but I've waited 2 years for this cruise and can't wait to set sail and will definitely have a great time. I do appreciate the positive and negative aspects of your review it gives me forewarning about some of the less than stellar aspects.

Thank you so much for the pictures we are planning on being on the Dawn on 2013 out of Tampa too and I loved all the pictures you posted it really gave me a sense of what she is like more than most others I have seen.
