  1. My suggestion from experience is that if you have a cooler box, and want ice cold beer in your Stateroom, forgo one of the sinks. You've got two!

Ask your Stateroom Host/ess for an ice bucket full twice a day. Give them $20 when you first meet them and tell them.

Keep the beers in the sink with some water and top up the ice as needed ;)

(and no, the crew do not have a split bathroom! But when you have a corridor party, the sink, the shower tray all become ice buckets!) ;) lol!

haha sounds just like college and that it was a blast.

  2. We are booked on a 7 night fantasy cruise from 4/18 - 4/25 and after our cruise we will be spending 2 nights in a 2-bedroom at Kidani Village. Check-in is at 4 PM there. Do we have any chance at all of checking in very early? Or would the resort allow us to store our bags and either use the pool area for a while before check-in or just visit a park? Thanks for any advice.

  3. Just be prepared for sticker shock..2016 Prices have skyrocketed...

I am definitely shocked. It seems NCL is trying to pay for all the new builds and their recent acquisition with these new prices. I'm booked in a DOS on the Epic for the 10 night Canary Island for Feb 2016 and the price went up close to 4K within a few weeks of purchasing and has not dropped down at all. I've been waiting for the April 2016 Mediterranean schedule for the Epic and the 7 nights are still more than I luckily booked for the 10 nights.

  4. I've never heard of a "not even 2 yet" being allowed into the OC other than during open house hours. The policy is 35 months' date=' and I've seen a little "fudging" for slightly younger kids on some occasions. Sorry that I missed that in my earlier post!

Also, toilet trained on DCL means able to handle ALL functions--clothes, wiping, hand washing, etc. independently in a child sized facility. Staff is basically not allowed to assist and specifically cannot go into the bathroom with the child.[/quote']

I appreciate the clarification. I don't chime in often, but I always appreciate the information you post.

  5. I suppose the flexibility of the rule changes ship by ship and sailing by sailing. I really hope this isn't a new firm rule as our little one is going to be 21 months (fully toilet trained and strong comm skills). She will be devastated if she can't jump on Andy's bed in the club.

Regardless if this is a new policy change or not, your 21 month old won't be able to participate outside of open house hours either way because my understanding is the cut off is 35+ months?

  6. It is perhaps not all that simple 10-14 day cruises are usually composed of a

majority of sea days while those that are 6-8 days tilt to more port days and

less sea. Thus long haul cruises would be i.e. a 14 day Panama Canal full

transit; a mainland Hawaii circuit; a transatlantic trip*** or a Mediterranean

trip and then there are South America trips or Australia-New Zealand.

The common winter escapes are the Mexican Riviera; Eastern/Western and

Southern Caribbean and New York Bermuda. The solution is to take B2B

cruises of combinations of the above.

*** Transatlantic trips in the winter are not all that common more like a

positioning of ship from one market to another in fair weather.

Multi-day cruises are apt to be seasonal or ship positioning.

There is not going to be a great deal of these offerings and then mostly in the

    autumn or spring.

New York to Bermuda as a winter cruise?

  7. I can completely relate to missing a casino on a cruise. I love to gamble and know I will miss it on our Fantasy cruise, however the ship truly seems to be the most incredible one out there and I can not wait to go on it. One suggestion could be is to try and buy your husband off. Promise him that he can take a weekend trip to a casino sometime after you get back as long as he behaves and has a good time  And you can sell it that then he can gamble as long as he wants when he is there without feeling any guilt for missing some family time.
