  1. I think there are two issues here.

First there are two companies......same name

One is cozumel cruise excursions dot com and the other dot net.

Not sure who is booking with whom?

I can tell you this....we booked with dot com in October 2015. Dot com is operated by a marketing company. Everything went perfectly fine for us and in fact our ship did not port on the day booked. We ported on an entirely different day and this only became known to us after boarding day. We emailed from the ship, got a quick reply that they were aware of the change and they would still be there for us on our new port day! I couldn't have asked for better service.

Our guide was exactly where they said he would be and we had the best tour day ever in Cozumel. We were a family of 6 ranging in age from 24 to 58 and we did the dune buggy tour. We were very well taken care of throughout the day and they accommodated changes to their normal course of the day.

Hoping this helps some of you to feel more comfortable. I was more than pleased that they were still able to help us with the different porting day as I thought it could have caused them to be unavailable as of course other ships would be porting that day too.

Anyway the point is we were extremely satisfied.

  2. We booked a buggy tour online before our cruise, they met us exactly where they said, we walked briefly to their "office" and our tour began, most fantastic day.

I would like to add that our cruise itinerary got completely changed, we arrived in Cozumel on an entirely different day and they were most accommodating. No problem with "losing" our money.

  3. Like many have said we sanitize the surfaces in the cabin when we arrive all surfaces. We do not use the public restrooms ever unless it is an emergency. We are not big fans of the hand sanitize in the restaurants, try to avoid them if possible. Try hard not to touch contact surfaces like hand rails, elevator buttons, ( ask someone else to press your floor). When returning to our cabin always washing our hands, keeping items like backpacks etc away from contacting your every day items. Washing shoes off after excursions. Just being generally very cautious. In the defense of the house cleaning staff they now have different color cloths and cleaning tools for doing each job to ensure that you don't get the counter tops cleaned with the toilet rag. Not saying it doesn't happen. It seems more and more that we have had trouble with dirty cabins as the crew are trying to clean more and more cabins. I believe they are paid by piece work so the more they take on the more they get paid.

We follow these practices in our every day life so for us it is not unusual and we feel today you must be more careful so you don't get sick at any time.

  4. When you set your account up on the ship set it as a cash account on your setsail pass, don't give them your credit card information. You will be able to either take it from the casino office and remind them that it is a cash account or they will try to charge you 5% to withdraw cash.

You will also be able to go to the pursers desk on the last day and with draw it.

  5. There is a stairwell there but it is not accessible to passengers the crew use it only. I think there is elevators there for them too as they use it to move luggage and to come up from there living quarters in the lower parts of the ship.

So you will not be able access it, we have had aft cabins on these ships quite often and it is a bit of a walk but we always say good for burning off calories LOL

    Thanks

  6. Ya we never really have paid much attention to Hurricane season, other that taking cruises during that time of year because they are cheaper. We have never really been disrupted because of a storm, my wife did a girls cruise during Katrina and they still made all there stops and did suffer a bit of rocking etc.

We also have been redirected because of storms etc where you don't get to go where you thought you were but we are always prepared for that. I October of 2015 we departed Galveston about 14 hours late but we still made all our stops they just got re arranged in order.

    Happy sailing

Don't let storms change your plans and don't worry you may just end up in a different destination which can be fun too

  7. My opinion is that they have pushed the pricing on the individual drinks to make the option of taking the package seem more attractive. You need to evaluate between how much you drink and also on the itinerary as a busy cruise means that you are off the ship all the time on tours etc and are not able to take advantage of your drink package. If you enjoy between 5 and 7 drinks a day and you like specialty coffee's and wine with dinner it is the way to go.

  8. We have sailed quite a few transatlantics and always find the weather very good, not always hot, but usually in the 70's and as long as you are in a sheltered area the sun keeps you nice an warm. We are not really sun bathers but do enjoy the warm weather. There are usually lots of activities going on if you like to keep busy and lots of sea days to relax if you like to read a book. We usually expect about a 100 dollars a day perperson for a balcony if you book early and stay away from the newer ships, they will be more expencive and there are a couple of itinerarys which are more pricey like going to iceland and that type which don't usually get low prices.

    Enjoy you first Transatlantic

  9. We were able to get virgin frozen drinks with the vouchers and we also found if you always tried to go to the same bar and evolve a bit of a relationship with the bartenders they would offer a bit of latitude to the rules of the Diamond Drink program.

We were always satisfied with our drinks and also made sure we gave our bartender a great tip.

  10. What i found in October on our Adventure cruise was that i set it up as a cash account and only had 75 dollars OBC but I withdrew 500 dollars from the casino and didn't change back to a credit account until the end of the week and I didn't get charged the 5% for the cash with drawl which I thought they might have. We used to always set as a credit account and I would have got charged the 25 dollars for taking the cash. Just another angle I thought was good.

  11. Met Drew on his first contract with Royal back in 2003 on the Serenade of the Seas, great guy and he actually spent some time living in our home town. Last saw him on the Monarch a few years ago, always a ball of energy and making sure everyone is having a great time.

Can't wait to sail with him again.

  12. It is a great ship, we just spent a week on her out of Galveston on Oct 25th just explore, like every ship it has a lot to offer. The crew seemed great the food was good in the main restaurant, snacks on the promenade were good too. The show's in the theater were good and pools and hot tubs were great.

    Happy sailing

  13. We rented a car and did it our selves, from La Havre their is a car rental company that lets you pick the car up right at the ship. We found it very easy to navigate the roads etc. The rental was about $100 dollars for the day.

    Just a thought

and as others have said if you check your thread for this cruise you will likely find willing folks to join you.
