  1. If your cruise RCCL regularly, go on Amazon and purchase some plastic sleeves made for the tags. They are sturdy and reusable and inexpensive. Or if your flying in and spending a night in a hotel before your cruise I am sure the hotel will have a stapler.

  2. We have done both Eastern and western Cruises and enjoy them both.

Eastern cruise have to go to St Maarten and do the speedboat tour with 7 marine charters (Capt Mike) Best day ever! We avoid any cruise going to Nassau. If we did go there we would enjoy a quiet day by the pool on the ship.

    I also liked San Juan.

Western Cruise if you go to Cozumel we loved the Bar Hop! We have been to Mr. Sancho's and Nachi beach resorts. They were ok.

Also on the western a must is Grand Cayman and a trip to Stingray city! We have gone on Jet skis with Ebank Watersports.

Loved a day at a beach resort in Honduras.

Next up is Jamaica on our Sept. cruise and then in Feb 17 a southern out of San Juan!

Just keep cruising and find that next adventure! That is what we are doing now with the kids out of school.

    Enjoy your next cruise!

  3. I would recommend renting a car from Budget. They have a facility right near the port and have a shuttle. We always arrive a day early, drive down and enjoy the freedom to explore the coast. Then we go to the Budget facility and drop off the rental and they take us to the ship. Upon return they have a shuttle pick us up at the ship and take us to our rental car and we drive to Orlando. It is really the best way to do it!

    Enjoy your Cruise!!

  4. Your at the mercy of the Customs agents. Until they clear the ship to release passengers no one gets off the ship. If there is a medical emergency this will delay it even more. RCCL and every other cruise line operates as efficiently as they can to end and start each cruise. But we are all at the mercy of the government to allow us to board and exit the ship. Fewer agents means it will take longer to process plain and simple.

We were on Indy in January and off the ship by 9AM. On Navigator in March we did the self assist and were in a cab by 7AM.

If you are worried about missing a flight skip breakfast carry your luggage and do the self assist.

  5. I've had the paper tags rip off. Also, the plastic tags will hold departure tags.

    We use these:

    http://www.amazon.com/Cruise-Luggage-Holders-Caribbean-Celebrity/dp/B00M5MDAS0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1456978899&sr=8-2&keywords=cruise+luggage+tags+royal+caribbean

Steel loops and grommets. Have been very sturdy over 20+ cruises.

I have the plastic tags from Amazon and they are well worth it if you cruise on a regular basis. Just think of a rainy day in port going to dump your bags with the porter and your bags are out in the rain. Last March we sailed out of Fort Lauderdale on Independence and there were dozens of bags out by guest services waiting to be picked up because the paper tags got wet and fell off in the rain.

If you purchase them then you have an excuse to keep cruising again and again!

  6. We stay at the Holiday Inn Express. I travel for work so I get free rooms. They have a company that will pick you up and take you to the port on the day of your cruise. They also arrange to pick you up and take you to the Airport when you return. I cannot remember the cost but it was very reasonable. Pretty much any Hotel near the port offers services to get you to the port.

Best to book as early as you can. Depending on how many ships are in port that day it can be difficult to find a hotel room and they will get very expensive.

    Enjoy your Cruise!

  7. It was cloudy and rainy one day on a ship. I was sad. Can I get a hug and a free drink package? LOL

I really don't get it where people think they are entitled to anything and everything. For me I am so glad the cell phone doesn't work and there is no internet. 360 days a year you have the internet buried in your face. Take a break and enjoy the sea.

    Rant over. Happy cruising everyone!!

  8. I've had 3 surgeries for Torn Meniscus. Never needed a wheelchair of scooter for transportation to get around. If anything I would talk to your Doctor and ask about pain relief with a cortisone injection. THye have worked for me to give me relief before resulting to surgery.

After surgery they want you up an on your feet as soon as you can move around.

Best of luck on getting it taken care of and enjoy your cruise!

Knee pain? I just drink more Rum!

  9. Really? This ship has not made it back to port, they are dealing with extenuating circumstances. Logistics of getting repairs assessed, parts ordered along with dealing with the safety of all on board is enough to keep them busy for weeks. Lord knows how long it will take to fix everything and sail again. Yet the first thing you think to post about this is to bash them for not issuing an "official statement"? I am more concerned for the well being of the passengers and crew.

The ship sailed on a set course. They have a navigator on board, they have their own staff of meteorologist in Florida and an entire support staff to help with the difficult decisions that need to be made. The storm intensified and they could not outrun or maneuver through it. The ship sustained a lot ofunexpected damage. Perhaps they have a team meeting the ship when it arrives in port and then after they fully assess things they will make an official statement.

The only thing that matters is that the passengers and crew are safe and secure. Give them a chance to get up to speed and I am sure we will hear from RCCL soon.

After seeing the post of this trip on Anthem and talking with people on past cruise's out of New Jersey, I think I will always flysouth to catch a ship.

  10. No matter where you are you will have wind on a balcony. Hump or no hump. Every sailing will be different. If your questioning a hump cabin, try it once you might like it.

We had a hump cabin on Navigator and loved it!

    Happy Sailing!
