  1. This was the itinerary. COPENHAGEN, DENMARK KRISTIANSAND, NORWAY CRUISING CRUISING AKUREYRI, ICELAND REYKJAVIK, ICELAND REYKJAVIK, ICELAND CRUISING PRINS CHRISTIAN SUND(CRUISE) QAQORTOQ, GREENLAND NUUK, GREENLAND CRUISING CRUISING CRUISING BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS Nuuk was cancelled so we had another sea day. PCS was from 7am until 4pm
  2. So the Genie gets a decent wage from Royal like the Concierge. Tips are an extra bonus
  3. Forget excursions, just go to Holy Donuts. You won't be disappointed
  4. Yep, that's the one. Maybe 2 in Amsterdam and start doing the Baltics again. Royal is the only line not going in 2024.
  5. Now Copenhagen has been dropped, can we see 2 ships in Amsterdam or even 2 in Southampton. Michael Bayley did say Southampton did deserve a 2nd ship for the positive numbers after covid
  6. That's my biggest disappointment. When Royal left Malaga. I was on the last sailing out of Malaga on Adventure. A Ta to San Juan. If I take off the £600 cost of flights to Florida, that makes Europe very appealing.
  7. I realise It's profit that counts. With all the big ships in the Caribbean, I'm not sure they will sail full week in and week out. Royal has a good following in Europe during the Summer and I think they could try 1 or 2 ships year round. Southampton isn't ideal due to the Bay of Biscay but Barcelona is worth a shout.
  8. That would be good. Costa and Msc have a lot of ships here between them. Maybe Royal will realise people want to cruise in Europe all year round.
  9. That was a good deal. I have friends on it. I'm on Eaxplorer in April. I'm £975 solo for a balcony. If I take off share holders Obc and C&A drinks. It makes it cheaper
  10. I've never been on Oasis but booked the Ta in April . Good price, worth a look'
  11. I'm solo so the WJ suits me. Different ships and areas, the menu at night changes. I was on Voyager in Sept/Oct for 5 weeks. I left from Copenhagen to Boston and stayed on for 3 weeks up the N England coast. In Europe the theme nights were different to when we arrived in Boston. The 3 weeks from Boston, a lot more Indian choices and some Thai nights. Pot pies disappeared and different soups. Clam Chowder was an obvious addition. Talking to a chef I had met in April on Voyager and talked about the temp of the food. The reply was, Voyager was in Cyprus for 2 years and they didn't use the kitchens. When they turned everything to resume cruising from Barcelona, not a lot was working. They tried and ordered new heat lamps for the WJ. However the supply was difficult. They did get it sorted eventually. The difference from 16 nights in April to 5 weeks in September was night and day. Crew changes and maintainance is a big part of the quality of the food. I also asked about the lack of salt. I was told they were instructed to let the passengers add it to taste themselves. I said, some dishes need salt whilst cooking, and he totally agreed. I found some dishes quite bland
  12. Not a Uk problem, more a personal one. Unnecessary comment
  13. Thanks for the reminder. Been caught out with the Santa Maria day in October before. I'm on Explorer Ta and get into Malaga on the 3rd
  14. Thats my biggest Royal disappointment. They stopped cruising out of Malaga.
  15. If you are 800+ and cruise the rest of the WC solo you must get close to 1050
  16. I've now changed to Quantum for Alaska. That gives me 4 days to spend in Seattle and Vancouver before I get on Ovation to Hawaii. When I was doing this, the agent had no clue why. If they are selling cruises affected with the Pvsa, I think they should have flagged it up on the computer or at least give them staff training. Not everyone is on CC. Although, this has happened to me before, thanks everyone who drew this to my attention
  17. Me 2. I've been looking at Celebrity. Royal would be good
  18. I had to cancel a cruise in 2015. Seattle to Vancouver then onto LA. Worked out good as I flew into San Fran and drove Highway 1 and went to Grand Canyon and Vegas. Then jumped on Jewel for a 7 night round trip.
  19. I have a deck 12 balcony near the concierge lounge. Might not get in though. I looked at Celebrity but Quantum looks like a better deal.
  20. Thanks. I'll try again. Quantum leaves for Alaska 4 days earlier. That would give me 2 days in Seattle and 2 in Vancouver which would be a bonus. Might change for that
