Just on the Allure and I believe it was $200 per person.
-
On Allure this past week it was showing $3.50 on my Diamond receipts.
-
We were on the same cruise and it was our first time on a ship larger than LOTS.
Parking
Used Indoor Parking and they were ok. Issue is that at the terminal the # of slots the parking services are relegated to appears to be 1 per service. As stated before, this means that each service has to wait for clearance. Our delay was exacerbated by one of the other Indoor Parking shuttle drivers cutting in ahead of us and making us wait longer. In addition, the shuttles are relegated to a lane that includes cars dropping off luggage - shuttles should have their own lane. This was also a problem when debarking.
Embarkation
It took longer than the prior terminal but overall it wasn't that bad considering how many people were getting on. They did have 2 of the metal detectors closed down which was a surprise - it's the biggest ship so I thought they'd have all of them open. Went to the WJ for lunch and it was crowded as expected but we did find a table.
Shows
Great as usual. Saw the ice show 3 times. Reserved 1 and did standby the other 2. After the first performance, there were always seats still available when the show started.
Food and MDR
As expected. We don't do specialty dining so we ate in the WJ and MDR. We found the table on our card and showed up there for dinner the first night. They came and told us we were at the wrong table and moved us to another table. Our card said table 506 and the app showed 506. They moved us to 513 and a couple of days later the app updated.
General Thoughts on Oasis Class
- The park is nice but I'd prefer a deck like LOTS that has more seating on the sides in the shade.
- Seemed more crowded at times but a lot of the time the promenade actually seemed less crowded than LOTS.
- We are laid back cruisers so we don't see that the claim about "all the extra things to do" is relevant to us. We don't eat at the specialty restaurants or zip line so after a day or so we've done all the "extra" things.
- We were surprised at the cleanliness of the ship with all the people on it.
- Room attendant was great as were the MDR staff and all the other staff we encountered.
Disembarkation
Off time was 9:40 but we were called about 8:50. They then closed the gangway for about 25 minutes. It was raining when we exited. Proceeded to the slot where our shuttle was supposed to be and found out that they had shuffled all the shuttle services to different slots that morning. We had a long line waiting for our shuttle and several people just walked up and cut in line. And again the shuttles being held up by cars dropping off and picking up people so we had to wait between shuttles. From getting in line to disembark on deck 5, it took us 1 hour and 37 minutes to get to our car at Indoor Parking.

Talked to someone who was just on the Wonder. They said it was ok but somewhat mismanaged. Things like 70s night was on a formal night and the tropical night was the last night (difficult to pack before the deadline). Also said the food selection in the Windjammer was pretty limited.

We have bamboo in our backyard and it isn't noisy...... 🙂

RC is running longer cruises out of Galveston. We're on a 10 night out of Galveston at the end of January.
-
Depends on the port you're sailing from. Ships out of Galveston are on Central time. Ships often stay on ship's time and only on certain cruises might the time change.

FYI, if you cruise with MSC, there's a Lobster (gala night) available as well as one other cruise line (do not remember).
Royal Caribbean has a lobster night in the MDR.

I was able to get the Sprite Zero in cans on Liberty and Grandeur earlier this year.

Are our cabins from our January and April sailings still there? 🙂

Was it a medical refrigerator? (did you by any chance take a picture, or remember what it looked like?)
We had an JS (I forgot since we don't do it very often). Room was 8520 but I'n sure the insides also have them.

I'm glad to hear it doesn't happen often. I could walk it and bring back the car; everyone in my party could not do it. : (
That's good news. Do you mind sharing which cabin (or which area) you were in? I watched one You Tube video and didn't see a cooler/fridge, but it's possible they've been added.
About cabins: After reading earlier notes on this thread, I realized I'm in a "sideways inside" and was worrying a bit over whether to keep my 8th floor sideways ... or change to a lower floor regular. My husband and I watched a couple You Tube videos, and we were unsure. Royal made the decision for us: I'm kinda obsessive about checking prices, and today they had a $77/person drop on inside guarantees. So we changed to a guarantee, and we're letting them decide which room we get. We were unsure, and $154 was enough to let go of the decision.
I lied. We were in a JS but we did have a cooler under the counter. Cabin was 8520. We don't do JS very often.

It was one of the under counter coolers and yes it was for meds. Looks like all the others I've seen in the past. We use it for the meds and to store any sodas remaining on our Diamond cards at the end of the day.

On Vision class ships (now just Vision, Rhapsody, Grandeur and Enchantment), no cooler (mini-fridge) in the oceanview and interior cabins. (exception: the added panoramic OV that are midship on Decks 7 & 8). All the other ships currently in the fleet have them in every cabin, but not Vision class.
We were on Grandeur in May and our inside cabin had a mini-fridge.

I have a small one I always take by packing it in an outside pocket. We zip tie our luggage and I use it in the cabin to cut the zip ties. It comes in handy along with the little swiss army knife I have with scissors. So just pack it and you'll be fine. (Former leo.)
