There's a lot more to do in Galveston than there is at Kemah. Of course, Tilman Fertitta makes the money whether you're spending it for the overpriced Kemah Boardwalk or the overpriced Galveston Pleasure Pier.😜😏😵
They're owned by the same company?

That's an hour away at posted speeds. There is no need to leave the island.
No it isn't. It's 38 minutes from Kemah to terminal 2.

Try Kemah just outside of Galveston. They have the Kemah Boardwalk and you can stay at the inn there. Uber to the ship on cruise morning.

I was told 2 hours or less for the NAAT test. We are testing this Saturday. We are sailing on Monday! Hope we are all negative......
With the demand down, we got our results in 30 minutes.

Walgreens did not ask us for insurance last month and we answered yes about needing it for travel.

We're also headed for the Allure in December. The biggest we've been on so far is Liberty of the Seas. Looking forward to it. Just got of Grandeur a few days ago and it was a little different but still nice.
Hope testing is done by then but now that monkey pox is out.......

We usually get the basic internet package for 2 devices. It's sometimes spotty. Speed also varies.

I just wait until I get home....... 😉

Just stayed in this cabin on a 5 night cruise.
- Junior Suite 4v. Good size.
- 8th floor
- Pole in room pretty much requiring that the bed configuration be split beds
- On the starboard side about halfway between the front and mid-ship elevators
- A little noisy because its under the entrance to the Windjammer
- Stateroom attendant gave us a fan. She said that cabins in that area of the ship seem to be hotter.

Did you refresh your app frequently?
All the time, especially after the first night's show disappeared.

Just got off the Grandeur and was somewhat disappointed in the entertainment , mainly only 3 out of 5 nights with shows (all singing and/or dancing but they were good). No welcome show the first night and another night the only thing was a movie by the pool.
Also had difficulty following the RCL app because it kept changing. Wife wanted to see the movie on night 5 at 6:30 but at some point it changed to night 4 at 7:30 (only time it was shown). Fortunately the wife saw the change on the wall display. App showed a captain's corner on day 5 and it disappeared.
One good thing was they had some of the staff on stage at the end of the show on the last night like they use to.

We are doing that coming up in June. How was your experience? Where did you drive to and what did you see?
We really enjoyed it. Drove up to Emerald Lake in the Yukon. Kate Karmack (one of the gold rush originators) is a relative on my mom's side of the family. We stopped in Carcross at the cemetery to see where she's buried - had to get permission from the First Nation in Carcross. Saw lots of animals and scenery along the way. The rental company had a CD we listened to that narrated what we were seeing as we went.

They probably didn't have proof of a negative covid test taken in the last 2 days.

We rented a jeep in Skagway and did our own touring.

We were on a few weeks ago.
Main show was Saturday Night Fever.
One night was a comedian juggler but I think that was his only week.
One night was the Royal Caribbean Cast singing.
Seems like a couple of nights were the ice show.
One night was a lady comedian.

When we were on LOTS a couple of weeks ago we saw them doing a deep cleaning of the cabin across the hall from us so we're assuming that they cruisers were quarantined because of Covid. Today I saw where Princess had 143 cases on 1 15 day cruise. Is anyone seeing any counts that show how well RC is doing?
We're going again in a couple of weeks and don't plan on canceling ourselves.

30 is nothing! no worries. we had 88 mph winds in march and the ship went on its side and stayed there for a while . it was actually pretty cool to walk 'up' in my cabin. they call it listing.
kids would have fun if that happened
Listing was fun. Made it easier to fish from the cabin balcony. 🙂

As the ships get mor passengers, the wait in the room option will go away.
On Allure in Feb, we could wait in the room, in march the attendant chased us out.
With more passengers, he need to more time to get the rooms ready.
With customs being facial recognition, things are a lot faster, at least in the US.
Yes. On our April 3rd sailing we were told to wait in the Platinum Theater on deck 4 so that's already beginning.

You'll find out a couple of nights before. Last week we were asked about our departure needs on the app and then a couple of nights before the end of the cruise they gave us the time, our luggage tags, and where we were supposed to stay until our time to depart. In January we stayed in our room until the departure time.

Have you done a promenade lately? What noise. All the parades and captain's night hasnt restarted. I heard no noise on deck 6 . Twice since restart..
The people warning about noise usually havent done a pr since restart. Maybe if you were directly over a bar, but I heard no noise.
There is not as much noise but there is still noise. And we don't know when the partying will start again.

I think it will depend on what benefit you want.
8th - probably a little less noise and only 3 floors up to WJ if you like ding stairs.
7th - a little noisier but only 2 levels up from the promenade.
6th - probably a lot more noise. 1 level up from the promenade and 2 up from the 4th floor of the Platinum Theater so you can walk up later.
Last 2 cruises we were on the 10th floor in an inside cabin and we liked being higher. With the lower passenger count, getting an elevator hasn't been that bad.

We were on the 7 night LOTS cruise beginning April 3rd and the ship was at 70% capacity for passengers and 80% for staff. Talked to one of the waiters and he said that hiring staff has been pretty difficult.
End of pre departure testing?

I would think Viking will be the test case for no pr-cruise testing.
