  1. Thanks - the difference is that the only indoor smoking is in a special lounge.

Seabourn have already reduced smoking areas a lot; they just need the final push. Most non-smokers do not mind a special lounge being provided, or a couple of outdoor areas.

Actually there is another difference. I can't speak about the triplets that are no longer in the fleet, but on the remaining Seabourn ships, smoking isn't allowed on the pool deck. It's allowed in a small area starboard on deck 9, by the Sky bar, but not on the actual pool deck.

That said, this thread isn't about Seabourn's smoking policy.

Nice attempt by some to deflect attention away from the topic. Which is Silver Shadow has failed CDC inspection, yet again.

  2. Just out of interest - has anyone actually seen a passenger buy anything in these ridiculous boutiques?

I will confess! I bought a Colgate toothbrush once on Spirit after my electric one mysteriously disintegrated mid-cruise. But that was before the refurbs :D

  3. OctoberKat,

. I have not heard of that champagne. It is not one I have seen here in

    Jean.

Jean, I believe the champagne being referred to is Veuve Clicquot, not sure if the regular stuff or La Grande Dame, their better offering. Veuve isn't some niche tipple, it is widely available, and is most definitely available in Scotland and I would bet that you're familiar with it.

  4. Hi all

Our first cruise, and I read somewhere that the water on the ship is re filtered and reused, the dirty black water is filtered to be drinkable.

The ship's black water is absolutely not filtered to be drinkable. Where did you read that?

  5. Thanks to both of you.

I'm actually realising that we are all different when it comes to make up products, you're both correct. I was talking to a friend at the weekend who has appears to have similar colouring to me, but we can't wear the same make up colours.

I'm going to check out the cosmetics counters - I think trying them is going to be the only way to be sure.

Thanks for the tip on the L'oreal colour match -I can check that out locally.

Just another question, what colours do you tend to pick for your evening wear? Finding a cocktail/party dress in my colours has been difficult. I'm hoping to do a 17 day cruise next January, there will be 4 formal evenings, so I need to find some nice dresses.

  6. Hi ladies. I've read this thread with interest, being an Autumn/Earth. I happen to love 'our' colours, but agree that sometimes they can be hard to find.

I don't see any mention about make up for our colouring, I have searched and didn't find another thread, apologies in advance if there is one already.

I was wondering what are your favourite shades for Earth colouring? I used to wear the Colour Me Beautiful range, many years ago, but felt limited because I wanted to try other brands and formulas. Im currently struggling to find a blush and a 'go with everything' lipstick, so I'd be especially interested in your recommendations.

I've set a goal to lose some weight before I hit 50 next year, and want to totally redo my wardrobe by then too. I have enough clothes to keep me going for the first 2stone (30 pounds) or so, but I'm looking forward to having a new wardrobe by the end of my weight loss.

I first had my collours done years ago, and stuck with them for about a decade. Then we had the craze for black in the 1990's and I started to wear it. UGH it looks horrible on me!

So, back to my colours, and my goal to have a wardrobe filled with UK size 14's (US size 10 I believe), all in my colours.
