We were also on the ship from 9/17-9/24 and didn't notice any vibrations anywhere. Our stateroom was on deck 10 and the entire deck had a few toilet issues throughout the week but maintenance was in the hall frequently trying to fix everything. Other than that, the ship was great and the service was the best service we have ever had!!

We will be joining you on the 9/17 cruise and can't wait! I am looking forward to following your review for the first week to keep us going until our turn gets here!
I am also sailing with my mom who is the best cruise partner I could ask for! We always have such a great time and enjoy making those mother/daughter memories! I hope you and your mom have a great vacation and maybe we will run into the second week.
Safe travels!

I think it is worth doing each of them once. I have completed all three now and feel like I learned something new about each area. Remember to bring closed toed shoes and long pants for these tours as they will not let you participate otherwise.
We are sailing on the Adventure in 11 days and we will probably do the galley tour again because my mom has not done that one yet.
Have fun if you go on one!

Following along! Loving your pictures and can t wait to see more pics of the ship as you get there.
We board in 18 days and I am reading everything I can find about the adventure to keep those 18 days moving!!

I used to see this bread in the windjammer all the time but never tried it because it didn't look like something I would like. However on our last cruise they must have run out of danish to put on our room service bread plate, so they included a slice of this bread. I decided to try it and fell in love!!! I had to go to the Windjammer to grab some of it each morning after that.
Can't wait to have some again in 19 days!!

We sail on Sept 17th with pretty much the same itinerary as you so I am really looking forward to reading your review!!
You are correct that it is hard to find much information about the ABC Islands so can't wait to hear your thoughts and see your pictures.
Any cruise compasses by chance?
Thanks

Following along! Thank you for taking time to do the review while you sail!
I hope you all have a great cruise!
We sail in 3 weeks on the adventure so this will help the time pass for this week at least!

Following along! We sail on the Adventure in 3 weeks so your review and Andrews review will keep us going at least for this week. Maybe I can find a live review for the two weeks after that as well!!
Thanks for taking the time to do the review and I hope you have a fabulous cruise!

Hi there, Tropical storm Fiona should not turn into a hurricane and shouldn't come close to St. Thomas or St Martin. I can't figure out why Carnival is changing course unless its because of higher waves and wind.
Go here to find out about hurricanes http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/
I thought the same thing, but I am sure they have their reasons. Fiona is quite a ways out there though....

I live in Florida and often look at this website during the hurricane season: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/
It seems to give the most current information and updates and does not "overreact" like most TV weather stations do. Now that being said, just know that these are only forecasts and the paths can and do change all of the time.
We sail every year during Hurricane season and have only missed 1 island due to the Hurricane destroying it before we got there! :D
We have not been rerouted however know that we can be at any time. We expect the cruise line to do whatever they feel is necessary to keep us and the ship out of harms way. Honestly we have been in the Eastern Caribbean several times when a storm was in the Atlantic and would have never known it. The seas were relatively calm and we had fantastic sunny days.
Whatever happens, just keep an open mind and enjoy your cruise!
We sail in 26 days and can't wait!

We had delayed boarding on Majesty last August right around this time for a water maintenance issue. They did alert us ahead of time but I was so used to the messages to arrive later that I ignored it at first. Of course they sent several more the day before the cruise so we altered our time plans a little.
Luckily we live in FL, so we just had to change the time we decided to drive down to Miami. The notices told us they would not be boarding until around 4pm however we didn't want to get there during the rush and assumed they were overestimating the time, so we arrived around 2pm. They were taking luggage, but turning people away saying they really were not opening the doors to check in until 4pm. They did charter buses to take us over to the shopping and food area near the port and told everyone to enjoy that area until about 3:30pm when we could get back on the buses. They told us then that each stateroom would receive a $25 OBC to make up for us having to purchase our own lunch off the ship.
We did enjoy the food and shopping area but when we went to line up for the buses at 3:30pm, there were very long lines and not enough buses. There were a few RC staff trying to corral lines and get buses loaded however it was HOT out and people would just run out of line to the next bus when it arrived. It was definitely frustrating.
When we finally got on a bus and headed back to the port, the driver was told to drive around a little while because they were still not ready for anyone to board. Of course this made everyone extremely happy(note the sarcasm!). Once he was allowed to drive to the port, we were not allowed to get off as all of the buses full of people were waiting to board.
Eventually they let us off the buses and then we waited thru long lines outside (people actually passed out due to the heat and maybe a little too much alchohol), inside for check-in and after that to board. Some members of our group were less than friendly at this point so we chose to skip the boarding picture :D
Once we boarded they sent everyone directly to muster for the fastest muster drill I have ever attended and then we were sent on our way. They were just lining people up for muster as they boarded so I am not sure how many times they completed that process!
We went straight to our rooms and it was now around 6:45pm. We had 6:30pm dinner so I called to see what time they had moved it to due to late boarding and they had not moved it at all. So we ran to dinner. Needless to say it was not the best embarkation experience we have ever had!
The rest of the cruise was great though!!

As several have stated, taste and value are subjective and I guess that is why the larger ships have so many different dining options.
Personally we always make a point of going to JR's at least once a cruise and sometimes twice depending on what we feel like. We do not have a JR's on land close to us, but I have gone to ones on land when visiting other places. I have not been impressed with the land restaurants at all. However we love the ones on the ships! (Maybe just the ocean air :D )
I am in LOVE with their apple pie with ice cream and would eat there just for dessert!

We have been going to Sabor on embarkation day whenever we are on Oasis or Allure. It is not busy at all because people don't think about it or don't know it is there yet. Also you get to watch everyone walk thru the boardwalk for the first time and their reactions are great!
You should have plenty of room for your entire group as they move tables together for you.

If they see it at check in you will lose the hair dryer.
You are allowed to bring hair dryers with you, even curling irons are okay.

Yes, you can; however, be aware that unless you buy Internet aboard ship or pay for International Internet Services through your mobile provider, you will not see your card credits update until you get back to an "Internet Source".
It worked nicely for me. When you finally run out of money, the Barista/Clerk will then ask for your room card for the difference!
Enjoy!!
I am glad they updated this. The last few times we were on either the Oasis or the Allure, we have been told by Starbucks that they didn't have the capability to scan our phones so they needed the real card to use. We had dug out our cards to take along just in case so we were fine either way. Will probably still take our cards each time because consistency is not Royals's strong suit!

If you get to the port early you will not have a problem getting on. We were there about 10:45. The started letting people in at 11:00. Very easy process and we were on the ship before we knew it.
Thank you! We were trying to decide if we wanted to wait until later to miss the crowds but I doubt we will be able to hold off! Sounds like we can go early and be okay.

I noticed on the compasses that you were in Aruba until 11pm and then only in Curaçao until 5:30. Was this your originally scheduled itinerary or did they switch it? We are scheduled to be in Curaçao on Day 5 until 11pm and then in Aruba on Day 6 until 5:30pm. Just wondering if they changed them or if you were always scheduled that way.
Thanks
-
I didn't keep them. Sorry
No worries!
Just came across another review for the same week and he posted them.
Appreciate your thoughts and review!
-
Thank you so much for the compasses!! We are sailing this same itinerary in September and I had not been able to find any compasses until now! Planning is some of the fun for us and tides us over until the actual cruise!
Glad to hear you had a great trip! What was the confusion at the port? We have sailed out of San Juan once about 8 years ago so just wondering if there is something we should be aware of?
Thanks!
-
We are sailing this same itinerary in Sept and love all of the planning up until the cruise gets here. So thank you both for sharing your thoughts and comments with us!
Do either of you happen to have the cruise compasses from this sailing that you can upload here?
Thank you!

It sounds like you took a cab from the cruise pier to downtown Curaçao, is it too far to walk? We don't have plans but we're just wanting to go downtown to shop and site see.

Last time I played the minimum table bet was $5.00. You could bet $1.00 on individual numbers as long as you bet a minimum of $5.00 on the table.

That's too bad 🙁 We loved looking for those on the Oasis and the Allure! Wish they would have kept them going thru all the Oasis class ships.

You can select any of the pictures that are already printed for you, no matter the size. Just take it to the cashier and let them know you would like to use your free photo coupon for that picture.
If you are purchasing other pictures, I recommend you purchase them in a separate transaction. We have had it happen where they use the smallest picture for your free one instead of the larger size you picked and they wouldn't fix it. So from then on we just purchased it separately to avoid any issues.
