  1. Hello! Rather random question but my friend loves the drink Campari. Would anyone know if it’s likely to be available onboard? Going on symphony European cruise later this year. I have never noticed on previous royal carribean ships as I don’t drink it!

    Thanks!

I have found it on Freedom, Allure, and Oasis, so it is a good chance it would be on Symphony.

  2. I just wanted to share something I did . When I booked in January they were running OBC special from RC and I also got some OBC from my TA. It didn't show on my account until just recently so I think they just changed it and now applying everybody's OBC from RC to their account so they can use it pre-sail. Well, I just decided to change my reservation and now they're running different OBC so I have lost the first one for my first reservation but I was applied the one they're running right now. So, to sum it up I don't think these OBC showed up because of complaints, I think those are the specials they run at the time of booking and they automatically apply the OBC to your account. Happy cruising!

I definitely did not have any OBC from my booking, so I don't think that was it, at least in my case.

  3. Same here for my Aug 20 Allure, the other four cabins I am travelling with did not. My res # is not linking with the other four so I am thinking this has something to do with it. I talked to both RCL and TA about my res issue. Neither told me I would be receiving this. It just showed up. I will take it

I complained via email about the new room service charges and just saw that $25 OBC had been added to my account. I am still disappointed in how they rolled out the change, but appreciate that they provided some OBC.

  4. Anyone have information on blackjack? Any machines, $/play Same with dealer tables $ amounts and are they single deck or more? Anything specific that a relatively new blackjack player should know? And I do not remember but any "coupons" for C&A members?

IIRC, some $5 tables, but mostly $10, with 6-8 decks and auto shuffler. Single decks generally start at $25 minimum during the busy times.

  5. Other player's play absolutely does affect your cards, on any one individual hand, there is no question about that. The point is, it just often helps as hurts. In long run, no effect.

I'm not superstitious and understand that bad play affecting my game is a fallacy, but it is very distracting to play with bad players. Not only that, it slows the game down to a miserable crawl while someone tries to decide what to do with a hard ten hand against a dealer's six.

  6. The "iced tea" served onboard is an affront to any true Southerner. That powdered stuff is an instrument of the devil. I usually just do without until I disembark. When the craving gets too severe, I have tried the hot tea approach mentioned above, but it just isn't the same. Even worse is when they put some sort of weird flavoring like raspberry in the tea. The only way I have been able to stand their stuff is doctoring it with lots of sugar and lemonade to make a poor-man's Arnold Palmer.

  7. At final checkout they add the 18%. The "excluding gratuities" is the loss leader on the big advertisement then once you are hooked they stick it to you at checkout, just like most retailers.

I bought the premium at $44 per day back in May for our October Allure cruise and now it's gone away and replaced by the Deluxe at $46. It appears they added a few things to the deluxe that weren't in the premium, but nothing worth me paying the extra $2 for if they want me to "upgrade."

Since you already purchased the premium, it should be automatically upgraded to the deluxe during your cruise. No need to pay more to get the deluxe. The cancel and then rebook ploy is when the deluxe is priced lower than what you paid for premium.

  8. Yes, there are foam rollers in the gym in the stretching area. About a half dozen of them.

And the stretching area is pretty large in comparison to the rest of the gym area (also fairly large for a ship). They do hold some classes in the main area, but there is also a smaller dedicated area off of the class area that you can use to roll to your heart's and hip's content. Good luck!

  9. Having never eaten at Carnival's Chef's Table, I cannot compare the two, a cue that some others should take.

Given that, we love the RCI Chef's Table, although we would probably not book it if we were teetotalers. With the wine, it is a good value. Without the wine, it probably would not be.

The food is equivalent to an upscale tasting menu and they take great care to pair the wines.

  10. I would always do this regardless...but it never hurts to take advantage of a waitlist...you never know with RCI...they may just surprise you. When I have been on a waitlist..when ever I happened to call they always confirmed that I was indeed on a waitlist.

Yeah, I didn't mean to sound snappy, but I was a bit put out that they did not call or make the change automatically when the cabin became available. I am with all of you: Dummy bookings are the way to go, with the waitlist as a failsafe backup.
