  1. We were on an NCL cruise with granddaughters close to those ages and they loved everything.They have also loved RCI cruises that their parents took them on.
  2. One can always board the ship after 2 PM and go straight to their cabin.

  4. I worked in Manhattan 43 years and spent a lot of time after work going to concerts ,sporting events and the theater.When my wife also worked in ManHattan we would often meet and go together.
  5. In the early 60’s one could get a free cup of coffee in the theater.Of course at that time the cost of a cup was five cents but on a freezing cold night it was great.
  6. I was a player and a fan most of my life but have not watched much basketball for the past few years.I agree that Curry is amazing.

Beverly Hills people tend to not like NY.A woman who I went to HS with relocated to Southern California when she was in her 20’s .She met and married a guy native to California and they resided in Beverly Hills.Her husband had never been to NYC and about twenty years ago she talked him into taking a vacation there.One night they drove from their hotel to a theater.When they came out and were walking to their car a few guys approached them looking for directions.Her husband believing they were doing to be assaulted ran off and left her.
  8. I never drove in Manhattan and only been in a taxi about 5 times.It was always public transportation and walking for me.
  9. Having lived in NYC 60 years and worked in just about every area of Manhattan for more than 50 years I have never had a problem navigating.
  10. Are you implying that the Manhattan cruise port is not a good area ? If so,I totally disagree.My daughter who lives in Manhattan is a Marathon runner.She lives very close to the cruise port and runs every morning about 4:30 in the area without concern for her safety.

I ,as you know grew up in Brooklyn.Only two of my friends had cars.I did not drive until I was nearly 30.Where I live now people can get along without having a car as well.Around the corner from the development I live in is a shopping complex with over 20 stores and restaurants including 2 department stores.Across the street is a 36 store and restaurant area.

My youngest daughter and her husband live in Manhattan.They love living there.They can walk to stage and movie theaters,museums ,restaurants ,bars and the Manhattan cruise port.A person can live in Manhattan without a car ,however,they have two.The building next to theirs has an underground garage which is great for them. They can walk to public transportation ,when needed.

I hope you get better really soon and get back home.Ringing for nurses reminds me of the last time I was in a hospital.My surgeon told me that he was very respected in the hospital and had the very best attentive nurses in the hospital.They probably had hearing issues because they never responded to my needs.
  14. The very first time I was on the SI ferry was in the summer of 1959.I was working in a camp on SI.I did not pay the five cent fare because I was on a bus that picked me up in Brooklyn and took me and other camp workers as well as campers and the camp paid the fare.
  15. One of my son-in-laws does a lot of traveling for his job,primarily to South America and the UK.He has been employed by the company nearly 20 years .Several years ago he was allowed to bring my daughter with him and for her it was a vacation .

My granddaughter was accepted to every school she applied to .Some surprised her because she did not think she would be accepted.It was a difficult choice but she those the one that she and her parents believed would give her the best education .She was not awarded a scholarship to the college.
