I'm set to cruise on the Magic on May 31st. I am not cancelling however, I feel confidident that Carnival will cancel it unfortunately.

Yes. That's what I'm thinking; well, not that Carnival will cancel it, but that the cruise industry will still be shut down by law/response to the crisis. Our cruise is scheduled for mid-May. Not sure what my husband and adult sons have in mind for our plans, but my take is to not do anything before the 3/31 deadline to cancel, and if the virus is still a thing (it will be I suspect) and cruises are still banned, well, there you go. But if the ban has been lifted, then good, I trust it's safe enough to go forward.

$3750 of slot play on a 7 day cruise.

This is why I think it's funny when people in the cheers threads say they won't buy cheers because they get DOU for "free".

But if you're really lucky it is free - or better - the casino is paying you. Heavy sigh. I wish I was that lucky. All my casino perks are costly - but fun. So. Yeah. What the heck.

Disposable plastics are a danger to us all. Please google 'the great Pacific Garbage Patch'.  Its a giant floating patch of plastic garbage 2X the size of Texas in the Pacific. Its formed by circular  ocean currents that push the garbage together in the center of the ocean. Tho the Pacific Garbage is the largest, every ocean has one. Plastic floats, and the sun slowly disintegrates it into small bits that marine life eat and die. Small bits disintegrate into tiny bits that fish eat , then we eat the fish. Eco straws will get better with time, until then I am willing to 'rough it'.

    Thank you.

  4. We did this as a Carnival excursion a few years ago. I don't remember clearly how many people there were, but I'd say 20 or so? Two man kayaks, 10 or 12 kayaks. You didn't ask, but we enjoyed it - me, my husband and our three fit and active teen (at that time) sons. There was a little snorkeling, less hiking and a lot of kayaking.

  5. I'm not sure, but I would think that if you only wanted to keep the yogurt for a couple of hours, you could keep it cold enough in an ice bucket (which is full of fresh ice), which your cabin steward will provide upon request. But on another note, I know Carnival, in an effort to be more environmentally responsible, is doing away with single use containers and plastics such as the individual cereal boxes and plastic straws. I'm cruising next week and was not expecting to see the little yogurts still.

  6. Don't gamble more just to get better offers - you'll lose more also!  Play what you enjoy and can afford, and have fun on the cruise!

Ha! Sound advice. I get premier, getaway, and dealers choice offers. I like premier cruises. Then I read about ultra, elite, bounce back and think - hmm maybe I should gamble more. NOT!!!!!!😉

    Congratulations!

We go Gold on our cruise next month, similar situation.
Currently have 21 days, so this will push us into Gold halfway through!

Cupcake is looking forward to the pin (it really is the little things, you know!)

Have fun and enjoy your perks!

I agree. I'm a pushover for the little things. I'm excited to be turning platinum on my December cruise. I've been following the threads about the platinum gift as if it were the most important thing in my life!!!😊

  8. I've attended two Carnival hosted Meet and Mingles, both on Ecstasy. The two parties couldn't have been more different. The first one was late in the afternoon on the first seaday/elegant night. The appetizers and finger foods they put out were better than what they serve at the past guest parties; actually some of the best tasting best presented food I've had on Carnival. Several of the higher up crew members attended and they were very personable. I had engaging conversations with the head of dining and the head of hotel services. BUT the second one I went to a couple of months later was in the late morning and only lido breakfast pastries were served. A crew member or two wandered in and out.  I still signed up for the Carnival/CC M&M for my next cruise, hoping it will be more like the first than the second.
