Hi Andrew and family
Just wanted to let you know that I'm following your amazing trip. I must get back to Alaska. These last few years my "cold north" trips have been to the Canadian Rockies . That's also spectacular but after 4 visits my husband still hasn't seen a moose!! As a south floridian the mountains , lakes and hikes to waterfalls make for an exhilarating vacation .
Please keep posting we are here waiting for your updates and appreciate the time you spend doing it.

Hi,
We were in Cuba on the Empress at the end of April. We did not purchase a Royal tour, we did pre-book a tour with a car company. They met us after we got off the ship and we had a great tour. We went back to the ship for dinner (had a great meal in WJ). Unfortunately I couldn't convince my travelling companions to go to one of the night clubs.
The next day we were free to come and go and we walked around and visited the Mercardo for souvenir shopping. We had a couple of drinks, something to eat and some great cuban coffee and returned to the port where we bought our rum. Rum seemed to be the same price everywhere and that way we only had to carry it for a short distance.
Prior to the cruise it did seem that the information available made everything seem very complicated, but it really wasn't and we had a great time. I'm sure you will too, the people we met were glad to interact with us, and despite the sad state of repair of some of the buildings, Havana was very clean.
Enjoy your trip!!

Yes, this happened in reverse on our last Empress cruise. The shuttle was a large motor coach but didn't wait to fill before leaving. I would ride as it can be hot and humid and there is not really a good pathway.

Enjoying your posts. I figure that if you are a month behind it will extend the postings for the world cruise and my vicarious enjoyment of all the world cruise bloggers will be extended. I'm interested to read how your Crystal cruise experience is. Keep cruising to the fullest, blogging can wait. It is interesting to see the port experiences you choose and your appreciation of other cultures
Keep on blogging!!!.

Hi, we were on this cruise also, ( I'm the female who was enjoying the rum punch on Bernard's tour) You are capturing the trip experience very well especially Serafina's.
We were assigned dinner in the Villa Rossi dining room but did go to the Black Crab for breakfast and lunch a couple of times.
Keep up the postings, I'm enjoying re-living our most enjoyable cruise!

Hi, we are cruising on Davina at the end of April. First time on MSC so we have a lot to learn! We are thinking of getting a wine package. if anyone has done this do they let you take the wine bottle with the "leftover' wine from the dining room each night? Or is it kept to be served the next day?
Also can you get the wine in the buffet or just the dining room?
Thanks in advance for any help on this topic.
Looking forward to new cruise experience.

Does anyone have a recent Cruise Compass for the 3-day weekend cruise?
Going in a couple of weeks. Thanks in advance.
I'm going tomorrow [emoji1] I'll save and post when I get back if no one else replies. Already home from work, so looking forward to this cruise.

We're just off Enchantment (this morning) -- we were on Deck 3, so I don't know if there is anything specific about Deck 2, but no weird smells or anything anywhere we went.
We had a lovely time on the 3 day cruise. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of the big ships, but it's a nice play to stay for three days. Any other questions? Enjoy!
Did you go to any of the shows, which ones were playing .? I'm going in August usually go on the Majesty so a new weekend ship for us. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the info. I'm going on the Majesty the 19th and can't leave work until 2pm this time. The port is 20 minutes by taxi so I feel better now. I also did the Oasis 2 day had a great time especially as I had already been on her twice and did not have to do everything this time. I was looking for you in the CL but didn' t see you. Loved the lemondrop martinis though
Love the Majesty for a weekend getaway

Also on the Allure and Oasis the CL serves hot breakfast (very good and hot) and also has a lunch menu daily with wine or "champagne". I recommend the cod and chips, and any dessert!!

I just booked the 2 day Oasis for next weekend!!! One of the advantages of living 20 mins from Fort Lauderdale. Love the Oasis, my usual weekend getaway is the Majesty (sailing on her Sep 19th). I admit it I'm addicted!!!!

SOMEONE WORE SHORTS IN THE MAIN DINING ROOM!!! :p:p:):):):)
I was also on this cruise (had a great time) but actually saw people being turned away at lunch as they were not appropriately dressed for the MDR. I had a table near the door and could hear one side of the conversation very clearly. The staff were very professional during the discussion. Several people were asked to remove caps before entering, most did but 2 people were not happy and left.

]Is Bailey's a new offering to the list? I don't remember seeing it before.
Just of the Vision today and we had the drinks loaded on the Seapass, Bailey's was included. Everything seemed to work well, although most nights we went to the CL

Ok so how did I not know about this!!!! I have never heard of it nor has a waiter ever mentioned it. I will ask on my next cruise, but do they have it on 4 and 5 day cruises too?
I know its on the Majesty 3 day cruise (usually Saturday Morning)

I was part of a group of 48 who cruised together (ages 9 months to 94 years). it was a great cruise, we left things during the day flexible and all agreed to meet at dinner. We had late seating and several tables next to each other. We did switch tables as we felt like but the servers were really cool about who sat where each evening.
I have many great memories of that cruise, my number one tip is get the ship's photographer to take group photo!!

Oh. My. That's a FACTORY???!!
I can't believe you were there, we found this ourselves last time we were on the island, I just finished the last of the rum this weekend! (it was hidden and not for general consumption - far too good for barbarians!)
I'm really enjoying your review, I feel like I'm there with you! Like you I didn't think I would enjoy the big ships but after seeing them each weekend I decided to try them and love them!
The Europe review was great, I was at most of your ports but did not have most of the experiences you did. I did search for the perfect gelato though.
Hope you get the sinuses "fixed" and keep travelling, I love reading about your adventures.

we did it on the Allure in December, it was a very enjoyable evening. The food was great .. and the other diners were great fun. I would like to do it again on another ship as the chef has freedom to choose the menu/

Where did everyone else go? Lots of people lurking (almost 11,000 views in less than a week) but the comments have slowed down. Don't be shy! Say hi and leave some feedback! I like knowing that people are enjoying reading. :)
I'm one of the "Viewers". love the Navigator, I was on the TA this year, and will miss her big time when she doesn't come back to Fort Lauderdale this year. Your photos are great, really seem to have captured the essence of the ship. I also love the potato curry and the mojito's at Bolero's.
Keep posting please I'm really enjoying the review.
