  1. So for the Whisper the Singapore to Mumbai Cruise is the first on Waitlist. Due to depart March 3. The voyage through the canal was to end in Athens on the 6th April. The time between arriving in Singapore and arriving in Athens is 34 days. The Moon will take 29 days from Athens to Mumbai. Singapore is further from Athens via the Capetown than Mumbai. The Whispers top speed like the Moon is 21 knots. So that gap is consistent with the time to reach Athens and go into dry dock. For the Spirit the first Waitlist is the Mahe to Dubai 32 days before the Athens cruise meaning it would comfortably get to Athens. If It went on to Dubai only 16 days which would be impossible.
  2. But the Wind was changed because it would not meet the new Norwegian guidelines for cruise ships. No such problem for the Muse. we will have to wait and find out.
  3. According to our TA no final decision on the Spirit has been made yet but should be very soon. She is on the SS Travel experts group.
  4. Wow. I certainlly hadn't heard this. Our airlines have though as no direct flights to DPS. however the OTAs are offering flights with 1 stop somewhere with at least 12 hour lay overs. hope people actually read the details.
  5. Our cruise from Bali in 5 weeks time is on SS. The Muse. On our last Muse cruise we were stalked by a Viking ship. Is history going to repeat?
  6. but tomorrow I am going to be in touch with my TA who does have some contacts in high places. Hopefully can get some information.
  7. The $6000 is for Aussies and is $A6000 which equals $US4000.
  8. Well our recent Silversea experience was that they divided our back to back cruises and put 6 days in Doha in between them the offered us 155 saving on the first cruise and $US500 each for continuing on the second leg. Or you could instead of those offers get 10% off another cruise of your choice. So going by their form you should get some compensation. I would certainly put it to Silversea that you would prefer a later cruise.
  9. Indeed he was as he was the CD on our cruise. We boarded as you left. We enjoyed his activities.
  10. Yes all waitlisted still on the Australian site. but in mysilversea absolutely no excursions on both our booked cruises.
  11. Yes all have laundries that are free to use.
  12. We loved the tourist train in Ushuaia. For Atlantide you can order anything on the Room Service menu. We often did that for desserts as they were limited on the actual menu.
  13. We are booked on her 2 January cruises. November and December 25 have been grayed out for some time and i presumed for a dry dock but her last cruise before that is through the Suez canal which is also wait listed. It ends in Abu Dhabi which I presume is not where a dry dock would take place. So now I am wondering whether November,December 25 are charters and maybe considering moving those to January, February 26. Though the Muse voyage through the canal is now back on sale for May 25. We were initially on the Muse doing back to back Singapore to Athens but they changed it leaving a 6 day gap in Doha. wouldn't put us up in doha so we cancelled the Doha to athens leg. 6 days is probably a charter. Another possibility is that they are considering keeping her in the Mediterranean but hopefully have another ship cruising Africa. The only one close at that time will be the Moon but she is doing Australia, New Zealand cruises and so unlikely to be repositioned. Something funny is happening again.
  14. You are right. since 2018 we have only cruised Muse class and they don't have Medallions.
  15. I remember being held up on the Shadow in Petropavlovsk. We were held up due to "naval exercises" which finished as soon as the cases of whisky were handed over.
  16. There is a lot of reference to laundry. Silver suites or above get free laundry. then if you look at their loyalty program you will see that after 100 days you get free laundry. No where in the inclusions listed do you see free laundry so why would it be included?
  17. But what a voyage that would make. three Trans Oceanic crossings in a row!. And enough sea days so that you may never go back to cruising again.😉😃
  18. Well it got me reading the reviews section. just Wow. just reinforces the fact that people will post negative reviews much more frequently than positive reviews. That Ship score is therefore screwed to the lower end. A bad way to choose your cruise ship. I really liked the fellow who gave the Nova a score of 1. the main gripe was with the excursions. why you would want to continue with the included excursions after a couple of really bad experience amazes me. But the clincher was saying at one port docking was delayed at one port so that all excursions could depart at the same time. Me thinks SS would not delay docking but rather dock early so that all excursions leave on time. But then goes on in capitals how he had to queue in the stairwell for an hour waiting for the ship to be docked. Obviously a fellow who doesn't read the Chronicles or listen to announcements which virtually every time say go to the gangway when your tour is called. I really dislike the crowds that cram the gangway area making it difficult for those that are called to get to the gangway.
