  1. Yes, what the above person posted, and also get a copy of medical insurance cards and u will need her birth certificate/passport also. In the letter that the parent is going to sign....MAKE SURE TO INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: I give (ur names) to seek any and all medical treatment/decisions while in our care. ALSO: If the kids will be doing any excursions or activities that require waivers (Flow rider/ Ziplining...etc), make sure you also put in that they give ur permission to sign any/all necessary waivers to participate in any activities requiring them! We took our son's friend (our neighbor) and went through this exact same thing. I took hard insurance card for him, along with a copy right on the letter. Also, MAKE SURE TO HAVE THE LETTER NOTARIZED!! Hope this helps and enjoy ur cruise! They don't need divorce or custody papers....just the notarized letter from mom, outlining the above info and including what the person above posted about the specifics of the trip....but also include each port that the ship will be visiting too! Enjoy ur cruise and hope this helped...

  2. One more observation, if I cruised Harmony again I don't think I would put a debit card on file. I don't like the "$50 auth holds" I'm not a big spender or drinker and I prepaid gratuities so it was not necessary for them to auth $100 in two days. I know it will drop off I'm just sharing my observation. If/when I sail Harmony again I will not put a card on file and just settle it with cash at the end of my cruise or those RCI gift cards might be a good option. When I cruised with CCL they only did auth. at the end of the cruise day to cover what I spent, and then one final charge for all expenses.

So, are you saying that they put a $50 PER DAY hold on a debit card, even if you do not spend the first $50? Also, I am wondering if it works different with credit card? My debit card is debit, however can also be used as credit......

  3. I'm fairly certain he'll all be okay. Enough time has passed.

From the Canadian Immigration website -

(the rest of that blurb doesn't pertain to his situation. I reads, to me at least, that it might be a problem if the 2 offenses had happened concurrently. Your husbands are 8 years apart. And even if it did pertain to him, enough time has still passed.)

The only DUI-related offense that has a maximum imprisonment of over 10 years (which WOULD make him ineligible) would be if he killed somebody while DUI. Please tell me he didn't kill somebody :( .

    EDIT. for clarity.

The main issue is what was his sentence for the DUI? Most often, treatmet is required for a 2nd DUI. He would need proof that he completed the court-ordered treatment. I work in the Drug and Alcohol field in PA and just ran into this the other month with a client. He was going to Canada and had 2 DUI's...they just wanted something in writing that he completed the required treatment. Worked like a charm and he had no issues then. I know it has been awhile, however if he can produce the paperwork saying he completed everything, or go and request it from where he went....might not have the records, but if someone is still there and can help him out, they will. I would start to see what you can do, as it may take a little bit to locate the right person. Good luck!

  4. WoW....came across this post and was shocked....we had a tour of the galley....and the bridge tour was free...We also took a tour of the "behind the scenes" stage tour in the theatre~~free too!! This was both on Carnival and RCCL!! Now, I do have to say that we were in a suite on Royal for the bridge tour, but in a balcony room for the galley tour and stage tour ....all were very interesting!! Can not believe they r charging $150 for this, even though it seems that some other parts of the ship were toured and gifts included...but I am with some of the other posters...if they charged less, they would make more money:D If anyone is staying in a suite, I would ask the concierge about a tour of what u want to see, and you might be surprised...;)

  5. lol...last cruise we were in the RFS and had the gold cards. My son was in the elevator and someone asked him about his "gold card" and what it meant....he was like, "I don't know"....he then asked me and I did not realize there was a difference...just thought that was the color card they used for everyone...:p
