  1. AWESOME! He (?) will probably need a vacation after dealing with the 3 of us! :p Thank you for checking into that. I knew we were near the entrance...hopefully there won't be too much noise. Where's my zzzquil? ;)

We passed by the room not to long ago while they were cleaning it,,it's a very nice room with what looks like a nice size balcony as well.

  2. Did you happen to notice if they have any disabled pool lifts in any of the the pool areas ? The type at hotels used to assist a disabled guest into a pool ? ty in advance , grant

ive also attached a picture for reference in case you havent seen one ...

    ty again, grant

No handicap pool lifts on any of the pools or jacuzzi's GJ2, at least not on any of the main pools or jacuzzis. I haven't been up to the Solarium so I'm not sure if there is one on that jacuzzi or not.:(

  3. Mike, you never told us what happened at embarkation with your Bloody Mary mix.

I'll go into more detail once I'm back home,,but I'll tell you this,,,if you're going to bring on water, soda,,drink mixes,,do not try and hide them in your carry on or checked luggage. I was told to keep them in a bag or in plain site so you don't have to take the walk of shame to the search and seizure area!!!! I was able to bring my half gallon of Zing Zang onboard without any problems after being detained for 45 minutes. Needless to say, our group and butler were not to happy with me :(:(

  4. Mike, be very careful with these vouchers. There are t&c's attached. You can only use them on certain pricings - "brochure price" and "early booking" rates. Sometimes other promotions work out cheaper than the benefits afforded by the voucher.

Thanks Beam!!! I'm going to call my pvc on Monday and see if I can use this voucher on any one of my next 4 sailings!!! I did find out for you the Brandy which is served in the Yacht Club,,It is Italian,,Vechia Romagna,,Loius the 13th is available at $2600.00 a bottle if you prefer to go that route??:p

  5. FLAMOM: Just came from your stateroom 15031,,well,,the door at least. Your stateroom is at the end of a hallway and directly across from one of the sliding glass door entryways into the elevator vestibules. There seems to be some foot traffic in this area, but not enough to keep you awake at night. Your butler, "Putra" is from Indonesia and will be leaving the ship on the 6th of September. Hopefully I'll be able to upload a few pics of the hallway and surrounding areas today.:D

  6. Hi Mikesa1721

My daughter would like to have a watch from Michael Kors but here, they are very expensive.

Can you please check if they sell articles (watch, bracelet etc.) from Michael Kors?

    Thanks in advance

We did venture into one of the stores last night and did find some Michael Kors watches for men and women. Because they are behind a locked glass case, we could only see the price tag for a few of them. We found mens and women's watches from $300.00 to $215.00. I'll get some pics for you so you can see what the selections are. I believe there are also Michael Kors handbags as well but will verify this today as well.:)

  7. There are also the "Available Every Day" items such as shrimp cocktail, and the best Angus Fillet I have ever sunk my teeth into. We had the mushroom pappardelle which was a main course item, served as an appetizer portion to our fillet main course,,,creme brûlée and tiramisu for desert, with a limoncello cordial and a latte mochiatto to wash it all down. Absolutely Incredible meals in LeMuse!!

Please try the MSC house wine as well. It is not a blended wine but a pure grape wine created just for MSC. It is available in white and red. We really enjoyed the white, but the red was very dry but still a very nice compliment to our fillet dish.

  8. Good morning Mike.....well there's your way to stay on Divina indefinitely......know how to spin the records...........wow that shows my age..........:D

I'm not sure I would like to work on the ship itself. Our bartender Dayman as well as most of the service staff we have talked with, work 77 hour weeks. They will work a 14 to 15 hour day, everyday,,with a 3 hour and 1 hour break in between. Our poor bartender was up till 3:00am deep cleaning the bar to prepare for a possible inspection, which only happens whenever Divina pulls into a US port.

  9. Catharine Sarfin and for those interested in Future Cruise Credit. For $10.00 you can purchase a future onboard cruise credit. Depending on the stateroom category you book, you will receive between a $100.00 and up to a $400.00 onboard credit. Inside staterooms receive $100.00 credit,,,Yacht Club receives $400.00 and this applies only to the stateroom and not per person. This only applies to new bookings made within 18 months of purchase,,so it looks like I'll be canceling one sailing and rebooking the same sailing to have the $400.00 credit applied.:)

  10. Good Morning Everyone!!! Yesterday while in port in San Juan Divina was blessed with a USBH (United States Board Of Health) surprise inspection. I am happy to announce that she scored a 96 out of a possible 100. FLAMOM,,when you are on board next week, you may find the Galaxy Disco without a certain DJ. He will be boarding a plane once we arrive in Miami. From what we have learned, they had found some cake hidden by the dj in the Galaxy Disco.

Today,, we are invited to another cocktail party with the Captain as well as questions and answers with Captain Scala at 3:00pm. If there are any questions you might want me to ask the Captain,,please let me know before 2:30,,and I'll try and find the answer for you.

  11. Mike, I've had a look through Cruisetrail's photos of the YC bar list and don't see any reference to brandy/cognac on the inclusive list. Can you ask your friendly, neighborhood, bartender if they only serve premium brands for a charge? Down in steerage you can get brandies on the basic Allegrissimo package which seems to encompass similar level drink choices as the YC inclusive. I may be in need of some strong liquor by the time I board next Saturday and am partial to a nip of brandy :D

I sure will Beam!!!,,,We have a sea day tomorrow,,so I'll be glued to my favorite bar stool most of the day so I'll get a chance to ask Dayman(From Bulgaria) our bartender about the included brands of Brandy for you!!

  12. Hey everyone!!! Back onboard after a very hot day in San Juan. Why the boat leaves at 4:00 is anybody's guess,,but it is what it is. We walked to Barrachina's for the original Pina Coloda and then to Fort San Cristobal. It is extremely hot not only here but in St. Maartin as well so come prepared. We received a very nice gift from the MSC Divina. Kim and I each received an embroidered MSC Yacht Club polo shirt. Looks like our butler Johnny will be receiving a very nice bonus Friday evening!!! Hoping to get some more pics uploaded later tonight. :D

  13. Did you have lunch at the One Pool Bar? This is the one area I'm really looking forward to using as the last time I was in YC it was February in the Med so didn't have weather conducive to lounging at the pool LOL For this reason alone I'm toying with the idea of NEVER leaving the ship as the weather this time is going to be HOT HOT HOT :D:D:D

All the time Beam!!! We have 2 fish and one meat entrée with an assortment of deli meats,,cheeses,,fresh fruit. We did venture into LeMuse for lunch and there was a full menu to choose from as well. Quite honestly,,if we didn't have to walk to LeMuse for dinner,,we would have no reason to leave the Yacht Club at all.

  14. You mentioned happy hour 2 for 1 specials. Do they advertise them in the daily program

Sharon,,,they are not mentioned in the Daily's,,and I have been all over this ship so far looking for a happy hour special and have yet to find one. I asked our One Bar bartender who also works in the lounges at night and he hasn't heard of them,,,so I'm still on the hunt,,haven't given up yet.

  15. Thanks a mil, Kat - I can't wait. Am finding it difficult to get anything done what with following these wonderful threads about the Yacht Club.

I've been dipping in and out of your fantastic blog each time I think of something else I'm thinking of doing. For example, I'm trying to decide what to do for lunch when I board so I was going to check to see what you did to give me an idea. When I was in YC on Splendida we were too late on board for lunch so I'm not sure if we'll be allowed to dine in La Palmerie if we're onboard early. Usually they ask people boarding to go to the buffet (although maybe not YCers?) I'm also thinking that I might head straight to the One Pool Bar and check that out. The weather forecast is looking good:D

That's exactly what we do once we board the ship Beam. We dropped our carry-on luggage in the room, checked in with the concierge and Maitre'D to arrange our dining time, and then it was up to the One Bar and pool for Pain Killers and Elderflower Fizzes!!!:p

  16. That's very interesting to know, Mike. I'll be keeping that in mind for my March 2015 sailing as I'll be in steerage for that - I can't get a price for YC and can only imagine what a quote might be  (YC was offered to Australians at a greatly reduced price but MSC is still not quoting on UK or Ireland site)

I'd seen a post on another thread where people had been invited to join YC passengers for dinner and had wondered how that worked.

Hope you're having a great trip.

Beam,,If you want to have friends or family join you in the Yacht Club restaurant, the price is $50.00 pp,,,which,,on Divina, includes your choice of sparkling or regular water,,wine, prosecco,,and cocktails.

  17. Mike

i know you asked that we defer questions about suites to other posters, but wondering what your personal experience is for the forward cabins on deck 16...i thought you said you are there?

we have been on splendida twice in the YC and loved every minute!!

    hope you continue to enjoy.

Spinnaker2,,,We are in 16008 currently. Love this stateroom!!! Love the Yacht Club!!! Once you stay in this part of the ship, there's no way you could stay anywhere else.:)

  18. Wow. That is quiet. It was very busy in all the venues both times we were there. And we had fun meeting fellow pax in the Top Sail and later in Le Muse. Glad you are having a good time and thanks for the reviews, answers, and pictures.

Much, more to come Cruiser. I haven't been able to upload as many pics as I would like,,I have well over 100 I'm trying to send to Photobucket, but it seems to take forever. Hopefully while we're in San Juan tomorrow, I'll be able to connect to some wi-fi and share a bunch more photos and info with you all.:)
